4 省 24 路 29 TEL: FAX: Blocked isocyanates are well established as formulation components in the coatings industry [1]. These are generally based on the blocking agents methyethylketoxime, caprolactam and diethyl malonate. Baxenden Chemicals has developed a range of blocked isocyanate products based on the blocking agent, 3,5-dimethyl pyrazole. These products have lower unblocking temperatures than other blocked isocyanates and are gaining an increasing share of the blocked isocyanate market. The majority of applications for blocked isocyanates are solvent-based, however with increasing environmental awareness and legislation, the use of solvents is expected to reduce and the use of water-based materials is expected to increase.
