As the global economic recovery is starting to gain momentum, YG-1 has attained both internally and externally recognized achievements. Over the last year, we have both exceeded our sales goals and made successful investment in future projects. I am genuinely grateful to all executives and staff for their dedication and devotion in accomplishing this feat. In the external business environment, numerous challenges lie ahead of us over the upcoming year. The European fiscal crisis, which stared in the second half of last year, will serve as one of the biggest obstacles to global recovery. Moreover, sluggish business performance in advanced nations including the U.S. is leading to slower growth in the BRICs nations. I am particularly concerned that China s austerity measures, meant to curb inflationary pressures, will aggravate the problem. Dear fellow employees! With the new year upon us, we are now standing at a new starting line, ready to spread our wings and fly high. Once again, we need to fulfill our ambitious goal of rapid growth by expanding our markets. HYOSEONG-DONG PLANT 효성동공장은주문량증가에따라본사의엔드밀제조공정의일부가확대, 이전하여지난해오픈한신규공장이다. 본사와 5분거리에위치해시간적인효율성과작업효율성을동시에만족시켜주고있다. 효성동공장은올해생명력넘치게약동하는흑룡처럼새로운비상을꿈꾸고있다. 생산현장을책임지고있는박길양주무를만나자세한얘기를들어봤다. 효성동공장 Due to increased orders, a new plant in Hyoseong-dong was opened last year. This was accomplished by expanding and relocating part of the headquarters manufacturing center to the new plant. Located just five minutes away from the headquarters, the new plant is a model of time-saver and operational efficiency. The Hyoseong-dong Plant is a vibrant dream for YG-1, flying high like an energetic black dragon in this year. During our visit, we met Gil-Yang Park, the person in charge of managing the production lines at the Hyoseong-dong Plant and listened to a detailed description of the plant.

7 The gateway to next progress 고부가가치기계로경쟁력높여 The decision to construct the Hyoseong-dong Plant was made in response to the steadily rising number of orders the company is receiving. Starting last year, YG-1 has brought additional production equipment and has run the production line full time to meet sharply rising demand. Both the headquarters and the new plant in Hyoseong-dong continue to operate without interruption. Mr. Park noted that The operation of the Hyoseong-dong Plant will bring about various synergy effects in meeting delivery time, increasing orders and cutting production cost. He also expects that more production facilities will result in a significant improvement in operating profits. YG-1 의제 2 의성장엔진 효성동공장은 6층짜리신축건물에 1층은볼3 반, 2층은센타레스반, 3층은인서트블랭크반과 NF 반등 4개의현장반을효율적으로배치해모든공정이유기적으로움직인다. 지난해 7월말에완공되어 8월 5일과 6일의이틀에걸쳐장비 ( 부대설비포함 ) 약 108 여대중본사의일부장비와구본사에있던모든장비들이이전하여현재본격가동되고있다. 제품생산라인은물론 4, 5, 6층에는직원들을위한기숙사, 체력단련장등직원편의시설도갖추어져있다. 거의매일본사를오가는그는 모든업무가본사와연동하는일이기때문에긴밀한협업이이루어져야한다. 고말했다. 또한직원들이쾌적한환경에서작업에임할수있도록청결에도특별히신경을쓰고있다. 신축공장이다보니기계뿐아니라건물전체가깨끗이유지될수있도록환경적인요인에도신경이많이쓰인다고한다. 깨끗한작업환경이업무효율성과도이어지기때문이다. The second growth engine of YG-1 The newly built 6-story plant in Hyoseong-dong is designed to house four field-units in an effective way. Ball 3 manufacturing units is located on the 1st floor, the Centerless unit is located on the 2 nd floor and the Insert Blank and NF units are located on the 4 th floor. In this way, all manufacturing processes are able to operate in close coordination with each other. After the construction was completed in late July of last year, some 108 pieces of equipment (including incidental facilities) were relocated in this new plant between August 5 th and 6 th. With facilities (some from the headquarters and the entire facilities from old headquarters) now in place, the factory is currently in full operation. In addition to the production lines, the 4 th, 5 th and 6 th floors are furnished with convenient facilities for employees including dormitories and a physical fitness center. From the selection of site to the design of the building, Mr. Park s efforts have been fully realized in this ultra-modern facility. Traveling back and forth from the headquarters almost every day, he said that Since all operations go hand in hand with that of the head office, close cooperation is required. He also placed special attention on keeping the building clean so that workers can conduct operations in a pleasant environment. Considering this is a newly built plant, he places a big priority on keeping the building and machinery clean and tidy. MINI INTERVIEW 박길양주무 Research Engineer Gil-Yang Park Boost competitive edge with high value-added machinery Possessing state of the art equipment capable of manufacturing microscopic products, the Hyoseong-dong Plant can produce high value-added products. Another key point is that one process operations are now possible at the plant. Close coordination is possible because the plant contains both applications necessary for the production of Carbide Endmill, YG-1 s main product, and for dealing with the microscopic production of finished goods. The Hyoseong-dong Plant, in particular, is equipped with a state of the art production line capable of supporting the sales of finished goods: Dream drill & Insert, as well as supporting the initial processing facilities for operating CNC Machines in the headquarters. In order to heighten international competitiveness, YG-1 should strategically promote high value-added products.
