1 PDMLink 에등록된 Office 문서들의 PDF 문서변환기능및 Viewer 기능을알아보자 PDM Link에서지원하는 [Product View Document Support] 기능은 Windows-Base 기반의 Microsoft Office 문서들을 PDMLink용 Viewer인 Product View를통한읽기가가능한 PDF Format 으로변환하는기능이다. 설명하는 Software 버전은 PDMLink 9.1의 M10/M20의버전을기준으로준비했다. 우선 PDF 형식으로변환가능가능한 Office 문서는 Office2000, Office XP, Office 2003, Office 2007 이지원된다. Prerequisites 우선이구성은 Window System을기반을전제로설치된다. Windchill Services가설치되어구성되어있어야한다. Acrobat Distiller 와 Microsoft Office가반드시설치되어있어야한다. (Acrobat Distiller 는 PTC에서제공되는 Distiller Support CD 통해설치할수있다.) Document Support 는설치시 Window OS상의 Admin 계정으로설치되어야하다. Document Support 설치는 Windchill Server 구성시동일 Server에함께구성될수있으며필요에따라서는별도의 Worker Server를구성하여 Worker Demon으로구성하여 Window Service에등록하여사용할수있다. 9 - Windchill Server 주소를 Host 에등록하고 Data Type 은 OFFICE 로선택한다. - Worker 를구성한 Server 를지정한다. Remote Worker 서버를구성했을경우 두번째항목인 A different Window NT machine 을선택한다. 이경우 Remote Worker 의 Worker Demon 은 Window Service 로설정되어야한다.

10 - 설정완료후 Save File 로저장하고 Worker Agent 를다시활성화한다.

11 - 리스트에서앞서구성한내역을확인할수있다.. - 녹색깃발을클릭하여 Worker 가정상기동되는지확인한다. Generating Thumbnails within MS Office Files Document Adapter 를통해 Thumbnail 을생성하기위해서는 Office File 을저장시 Save Preview Picture Setting 을활성화해주어한다. - MS Office 2007 의경우다른이름으로저장시축소판그림저장항목을체크한다.

13 - Worker 에생성된 Thumbnail 을확인할수있다. Install Adobe Acrobat Reader & Viewing PDF Client 환경에서 Product Viewer Client를통해변환된 PDF 파일을 Viewing 하기위해서는우선 Adobe Acrobat Reader를설치후해당 Thumbnail 을클릭하여 Product Viewer를실행하면 Viewing 이가능하다. - Product Viewer 를통해 PDF 파일이열린상태화면

14 Troubleshooting Product Viewer 를실행시 ActiveX 관련 Message 와함께 Error 가발생한다면 해당버전을지원하는 Product Viewer가설치되지않았거나혹은 PDMLink의개인설정에서다음항목을확인해보도록한다. Home > 유틸리티 > 기본설정관리자에서 Visualization 항목중에서 Select Viewing Tool 값을 [NO] 셋팅하도록한다. 이상으로 PDMLink 에서 Office 문서를 PDF 로변환하여 Viewer 를활용하는방법을알아보았다. 위기능을활용한다면 PDMLink 에서문서검색또는배포기능에유용하게활용될수있을것 이다.
