3 1. 기본목적 1) 연구자는논문을검색할때 Retraction, Erratum 을쉽게확인할수있어야함 2) 편집자는연구자가 Retraction, Erratum 을명확하게인식할수있게해야함 2. 출판물과데이터베이스처리의차이점 1) 인쇄된출판물을수정할수없지만, 데이터베이스는수정이가능함 2) 데이터베이스의경우 Notice와해당논문의링크 ( 연결고리 ) 를제공할수있음 3) 데이터베이스는접속권한 ( 유료 / 무료 ) 을설정할수있음 4) Full text XML, PDF, Pubreader 등출판버전이많아짐 3. 추가로고려할부분 1) 연구자입장에서과거인쇄물로만논문을보던것과비교하여확인이쉬울수있음 2) 편집자입장에서관련처리를해야할곳이많음 ( 처리의복잡성, 누락의위험성 ) 3) 원문을수정을할경우, 버전이다양해져서난립될수있음 각각의데이터베이스간에 Retraction/Erratum 정책이상이함 동일한데이터베이스안에서도정책에적용되지않는논문이상당수발견됨

4 4. 용어정리 1) XML( 데이터저장용 ) vs. HTML ( 화면출력용 ) 보통 XML 로자료를저장하고, HTML 로변환하여화면에출력함 2) Erratum vs. Corrigendum 대부분의데이터베이스는 Erratum 과 Corrigendum 을구분하지않음 3) 데이터베이스 vs. 학술지홈페이지 데이터베이스 : 여러학술관련자료를모아서초록, 인용, 원문정보를제공하는기록저장소 (Archive) 학술지홈페이지 : 각자발행하는논문을저장및유통하기위한 Journal Homepage

Retraction/Erratum Guideline 1) Retraction 고려사항 be linked to the retracted article wherever possible (i.e. in all electronic versions) clearly identify the retracted article (e.g. by including the title and authors in the retraction heading) be clearly identified as a retraction (i.e. distinct from other types of correction or comment) be published promptly to minimize harmful effects from misleading publications be freely available to all readers (i.e. not behind access barriers or available only to subscribers) state who is retracting the article state the reason(s) for retraction (to distinguish misconduct from honest error) avoid statements that are potentially defamatory or libellous COPE Retraction Guidelines (

7 General Guidelines Be sure that the erratum or retraction is on a numbered page of the journal so that it can be properly cited and included in databases. If the journal includes a print edition, the erratum or retraction should be printed in a subsequent issue, not just included on the website. When an author finds the article electronically, the fact that the erratum or other notice exists should be clear in every location on the website: table of contents, abstract, full text, etc. In the electronic form, links should be available BOTH from the article to the erratum or retraction AND from the erratum or retraction back to the article. Even if the journal is not open access, the erratum or retraction should be freely accessible to the public. If the consequences of the error may cause serious harm (such as errors in drug dosages), the editor can contact the major databases to speed the process of correcting the database records. The appearance of a CrossMark logo on a HTML, PDF or epub document indicates that the publisher is taking care of or stewarding it through any updates, corrections, retractions, or other changes. 3) The researcher simply clicks on the CrossMark logo to view status information about the document. If an update exists, the status information will include a Crossref DOI link to the updated document. 4) Crossmark Deposit Fee : $0.20 per item

Pubmed, PMC, Koreamed 등은 DB 화면에서직접확인가능함 관련정보확인불가 DB 는 1), 2) 번을사용해별도로확인을해야함 4) Erratum 의경우, 학술지홈페이지및데이터베이스정책에따라원본을수정하는곳과안하는곳이있다. Erratum notice 가있으면직접수정된부분을확인해야함 3. 편집자의처리방법 1) Retraction/Erratum 을규정에맞게작성하여학회지에포함하여출판한다. 2) Crossmark 에 Retraction/Erratum 을반영한다. (DOI XML 작성협력사 ) 3) DOI 가연결된학회지홈페이지에 Retraction/Erratum 을반영한다. (XML 제작또는홈페이지협력사 ) 4) PMC, KoreaMed 등각각의데이터베이스에수정사항을반영한다. (DB 업로드협력사 ) 편집자 ( 학회 ) 가 Retraction/Erratum 처리를누락하게된다면, 연구자가이를파악하는것은사실상불가능함

48 4. 데이터베이스 (Crossmark 포함 ) 대응방안 1) 데이터베이스에서정하는규칙에따라 Retraction과 Erratum을처리해야함 개별연구자또는학회의요청으로데이터수정및삭제는불가함 2) 건의는할수있으나, 각학회가원하는방식으로데이터베이스를수정할수는없음 3) 각각의데이터베이스의정책을준수하여, DB 자료업로드협력사와같이대응해야함 대부분미리정의된 XML File을통하여데이터베이스를업데이트함 5. 학회지홈페이지대응방안 1) 학회가정한규정과절차에따라서 Retraction/Erratum을처리하면됨 2) 학회지홈페이지는학회가원하는방향으로처리할수있음 3) 학회독자적인방식을따르기보다는사용자편의를고려한페이지구성필요함 모든것을완벽하게정리하기어렵다면, 제일중요한것은 Crossmark! 1) 학회지홈페이지와 PDF 에 Crossmark 버튼을만든다. 2) Crossmark 를통하여 update 를지속적으로관리한다.
