4 Before Installation -Transportation- If the unit is tilted excessively, the compressor lubricant may flow from the compressor (or oil separator) to the line system. Insufficient filling level may damage the compressor when the refrigeration system is started. Keep vertical position while transporting the unit. 5 Quick Installation Guide( 빠른설치가이드 ) 1. Recommended room condition ( 권장장소 ) a. Recommended room temperature: between 5 and 28. If the room temperature is over 30, please ensure that suitable air-conditioning is provided. b. Make sure the floor is level and even. c. Make sure the condenser grille is not blocked. Push the power plug firmly into the power socket.(please check you have the correct voltage.) b. Turn the Key switch to the right (clockwise) 90 degrees and set it to ON. c. 9 2. Installaion ( 설치 ) 2.1 Installation place ( 설치장소 ) 1. Not to subject to direct sunlight 2. Adequate air circulation 3. Not subject to excessive dust 4. Not subject to mechanical vibration or shock 5. Operating temperature: + 5 C to + 33 C 6. Operating height: below m 7. Operating moisture: below 80% (in case that the max. operating temperature is + 33 C, it should be below 57 %) 8. Keep a distance of 30 cm or longer between the wall and the backside of the unit. 2. Do not install the unit at an uneven position. 3. Make the unit fixed with fixing screws on a steep floor. 4. 10 3. Power supply and how to earth ( 전원공급및접지방법 ) 3.1. Power supply ( 전원공급 ) 1. To ensure trouble-free connection, connect the plug firmly in the power socket. 2. Don t connect the plug of the unit together with plug of other units in the same socket. 3. Make sure that the power supplying cord is not folded and pressed. 4. If you use an extension wire, it should has an capacity above 230V, 15A and not longer than 3 m. 5. This unit is exclusively designed for 230V, 50Hz, please check the operating voltage, before use. * Under the 110V, the transmitter for elevating voltage (above 3Kw) should be used 1. 전원플러그는접촉불량이되지않도록콘센트에확실히꽂으십시오. 2. 본제품과타제품을같은전원콘센트에접속하여사용하지마십시오. 3. 전원코트선이접히거나눌리지않도록주의하십시오. 4. 연장코드는 250V, 15A 이상선을사용하며 3m을넘기지마십시오. 5. 본제품은 V, 50/60Hz전용이므로전압확인후사용하십시오. * 110V 전압사용시승압용트랜스 (3Kw) 를사용하셔야합니다 How to earth ( 접지방법 ) 1. 14 5.2. Manual Mode ( 수동모드 ) Before drying of the test sample 1. Turn the Key switch to the right (clockwise) 90 degrees and set it to ON. 2. Now, you can operate all functions. The MANU lamp will be on and the present Temperature of the cold trap will be indicated on the TEMP. GAUGE. * No value will be indicated on VAC. GAUGE on this time. 3. Press (3) REF. Button once, the lamp will be on and the refrigeration of the unit will be operating. 4. After about 10 min, the number of the TEMP GAUGE will go down to freezing point. 5. If the temperature is under the 40 C, press the (4) PUMP button once. 6. The lamp will be on and the vacuum pump will be operating. 7. After about 10 minutes, the value 999 will show on the Vac. Gauge and this value will go down to approximately 10mTorr. 8. From this point, the test sample will be dried gradually. 시료건조전 1. Key Switch를오른쪽 ( 시계방향 ) 으로 90도돌려 ON 자리에놓습니다. 2. 모든기능을작동하실수있습니다. PUMP 버튼중앙의램프에불이들어오며, 진공 PUMP 가작동합니다. 7. 잠시후 ( 약 10분 ) VAC GAUGE 판에 999 숫자가나타나며계속해서숫자는적은숫자 (10이하) 로바뀌어갑니다. 8. 시료는서서히냉동건조가되기시작합니다. ilshin Freeze Dryer Series User s Manual

15 When the test sample is dried: 1. When the test sample is dried, push the button (3) REF. Once. The REF led will go out and the refrigeration will stop. 2. Push the button (4) PUMP button, then the PUMP led will go out and the vacuum pump will stop. 3. Push the (5) VENT button once, then the VENT led will go out and the vacuum state of the chamber and vacuum valves will be released by the automatic valve. (During the switch-off of the vacuum, little noisy sound can be heard) 4. After the system is totally released, push the button (5) VENT once more to go to the next drying process. The VENT led will go out and the automatic valve will be closed. 5. Push the (6) DEF. Button once, then, the DEF led will go on and the ice on the cold trap will be defrosted by the Hot Gas system. 6. After the ice is totally defrosted, push the (6) DEF button once more. The DEF led will go out and the heating process around the chamber will stop. * If the next drying process is not directly followed, you could better defrost the ice in the cold trap without usage of the DEF button 시료건조완료후 1. 이상시료의건조가끝난후 REF 버튼을 1회누릅니다. REF 버튼중앙램프의불이꺼지며냉동기가정지합니다. 2. PUMP 버튼을 1회누릅니다. PUMP 버튼중앙램프의불이꺼지며진공PUMP 가정지합니다. 3. VENT버튼을 1회누릅니다. VENT버튼중앙램프에불이들어오며쳄버와배관내부의진공상태는자동밸브에의해해체됩니다. ( 약간의진공해체되는소음이있습니다.) 4. 완전히진공상태가해체된후에는다은건조작업을위해 VENT버튼을 1회더누릅니다. 이때 VENT버튼중앙램프는꺼지며자동밸브는닫힙니다. 5. DEF버튼을 1회누릅니다. DEF버튼중앙램프에불이들어오며쳄버주위에열이발생하여콜드트랩에모인수분을녹입니다. 6. 수분을모두녹인후에는반드시 DEF버튼을 1회더누릅니다. DEF버튼중앙램프에불이꺼지며쳄버주위에열발생이중단됩니다. * 다음시료의건조를곧바로작업하시지않을경우에는 DEF 버튼조작을사용하지 않는것이좋습니다. ilshin Freeze Dryer Series User s Manual

16 5.3 Automatic Mode ( 자동모드 ) Before drying of the test sample: 1. Turn the key switch to the right (clockwise) 90 degrees and set it to ON. 2. Now, you can operate all functions. The MANU lamp will be on and the present temperature of cold trap will be indicated on the TEMP. GAUGE. * No value will be indicated on VAC. GAUGE on this time 3. Push the (2) SELECT button once, then the MANU led will be turned off and the AUTO led will be on. The freezer will be operated, while the led of the (3) REF. button is on. 4. After about 10 min, the value of the TEMP GUAGE will go down to freezing point. If the temperature is under the 40 C, the (4) PUMP led will be on by the automatic sensor and the vacuum pump will be operated 5. After about another 10 minutes, a value of 999 will be shown in the VAC. GUAGE display and this value will slowly go down to approximately 10mTorr 6. From this point, the test sample will be dried gradually. 시료건조전 1. SELECT버튼을 1회누르면 MANU램프는꺼지며 AUTO램프에불이들어옵니다. 이때, REF버튼중앙의램프에불이들어오며, 냉동기가작동합니다. 4. 잠시후 ( 약 10분 ) TEMP GAUGE 온도의숫자가영하로떨어집니다. -40 이하로떨어지면자동감지센서에의해서 PUMP버튼중앙의램프에불이들어오며진공PUMP가작동합니다. 5. 잠시후 ( 약 10분 ) VAC GAUGE판에 999 숫자가나타나며, 적은숫자 (10이하) 로바뀌어갑니다. 6. 시료는서서히냉동건조가되기시작합니다. ilshin Freeze Dryer Series User s Manual

17 When the test sample is dried: 1. When that the test material is dried, push the button (2) SELECT once. The AUTO led will be turned off and The MANU led will be on. The led of (3) REF. Button and the (4) PUMP button will be turned off and all functions will stop. 2. Push the button (4) PUMP button, then the PUMP led will go out and the vacuum pump will stop. 3. Push the (5) VENT button once, then the VENT led will go on and the vacuum state of the chamber and vacuum valves will be released by the automatic valve. (During the switch-off of the vacuum, little noisy sound can be heard) 4. After the system is totally released, push the button (5) VENT once more to go to the next drying process. The VENT led will go out and the automatic valve will be closed. 5. Push the (6) DEF. Button once, then, the DEF led will go on and the ice on the cold trap will be defrosted by the Hot Gas system. 6. After the ice is totally defrosted, push the (6) DEF button once more. VENT버튼중앙램프에불이들어오며쳄버와배관내부의진공상태는자동밸브에의해해체됩니다.( 약간의진공해체되는소음이있습니다.) 4. 완전히진공상태가해체된후에는다은건조작업을위해 VENT버튼을 1회더누릅니다. 이때 VENT버튼중앙램프는꺼지며자동밸브는닫힙니다. 5. DEF버튼을 1회누릅니다. 25 How to change the vacuum pump oil ( 오일교환방법 ) Step 1: After making the clamper connected to the vacuum tube loose, disconnect the pump from the vacuum circuit. Step 2: Put a basin under the oil drain plug. Make the drain plug open while turning the plug to the left (counter clockwise). Please, check whether the oil is fully drained by checking the oil gauge. * Do not lose the rubber ring in the front part of the drain plug. Step 3: Please, check the rubber ring in the front part of the plug. If it is not present, please, insert it precisely. Step 4: Turn the oil drain plug to the right (clockwise) firmly. * N.B. the drain plug and pump drain should be fit on the right way. Step 5: Turn the filling plug of the pump to the left (counter clockwise) to open. Fill the new oil up through the opening. Step 6: Fill up to the maximum line of oil gauge (For Model VP8915, VP8920: 1.3 liter) Step 7: If the filling up is finished, please turn the filling plug to the right (clockwise) and close it firmly. * N.B. the drain plug and pump drain should be fit on the right way. 26 6.2.3 How to change elements of exhaust filter ( 필터교환시기 ) - When the solvent damp / smoke is getting out of the pump while the vacuum pump is running, or when the oil is leaked significantly from the element, it is time to change the filter element. * Remarks: Even though you have recently changed the element, if the smoke and leakage of oil continues, it might be the case that there is a leakage in the vacuum line or the ballast valve is opened too widely. If there is a leakage, please make sure this will be blocked. 28 [How to connect ampules generally to the system] - Put the test sample in the ampule and connect the opening to the ampule adaptor. - Turn the VENT indicated at the top of the stem by 180 and adjust that the DRY comes to the upper side. - The test sample starts to dry. Before you operate the vacuum pump, turn on the freeze dryer first. 2. Please wait untill the temperature of the cold trap goes down to 40 C 3. Before you operate the vacuum pump, please check the oil quality and level. If the oil quality is bad, please change the oil. * When the vacuum pressure is under 50mTorr, connect the sample to the valve. 4. To prevent moisturizing in the pump, please, open the gas ballast of the vacuum pump. 5. Service ( 서비스 ) 8.1 Service Troubleshooting ( 일반적문제및해결방안 ) 1. When the room temperature is above + 30 C. When the room Temperature is above +30 C, the condenser cannot be cooled. When the room temperature is under 0 C. The oil of the compressor/ vacuum pump is condensed. It can have negative effect on the operation of the compressor/ vacuum pump. 32 O Please, check whether the noise comes from the vacuum pump. * When the noise is bigger than normal, please check the following three things. - Please, check whether the vacuum pump is installed on the right position. =>Remedy: in the case of a wrong position, please move the pump a little bit. - Please, check the vacuum circulation, a valve or the drain valve might not be closed. =>Remedy: in the case that they are open, please close them. - Please, check whether the gas ballast located at the upper part of the vacuum pump is open too widely. =>When the ballast valve is open too widely, please turn it to the right (clockwise) a little bit. O Do you hear water stream? * The unit is equipped with many circulation of refrigerant. You can hear the freezing material stream through the circulation. It is not a technical problem. O Do you hear a cracking sound when you turn on the unit? * Because the electrical operation of this unit is run by the magnetic relay system, you can hear the cracking sound. O If you smell this while the vacuum pump is running, please, check the following three things - It can be the case that the residue of old test sample is mixed with the vacuum pump oil. => Remedy: Please, change the oil of the vacuum pump. - It can be the case that the ballast valve is open too widely, and there is a leakage in the vacuum line. =>Remedy: Please, close the ballast valve by turning to the right (clockwise) and make the leakage in the vacuum line closed. - It can be the case that the element of the exhaust filter should be changed. =>Please change the element of the exhaust filter. 6. 이상한냄새가납니까?
