1 Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society Vol. 17, No. 12 pp , ISSN / eissn 이기성 1, 이종찬 2* 1 호원대학교컴퓨터 게임학부, 2 군산대학교컴퓨터정보통신공학부 Resource Allocation to Support QoE in Hierarchical Macrocell-Femtocell Networks Gi-Sung Lee 1, Jong-Chan Lee 2* 1 Div. of Computer and Game, Howon University 2 School of Computer Information and Communication Engineering, Kunsan National University 요약매크로- 펨토셀이중첩된환경에서멀티미디어서비스의 QoE를보장하는것은 5G 이동통신을위한중요한문제이다. 이동단말기가이동시서비스연속성을지원하기위해서는종단간협상정보에근거하여사용자의 QoE를보장할수있는운영구조가필요하다. 또한멀티미디어서비스의연속성은지연에영향받기때문에 QoE 요구사항을효과적으로유지하기위한자원관리방법이필요하다. 본연구에서는서로다른특성을갖는멀티미디어서비스의 QoE를지원하기위하여 4 부류의자원관리방법을제안한다. 이를위하여 QoE 구조가제안되고 QoE를지원하기위하여전용으로자원을운용하는방법을제안한다. 제안된방법을통하여음성, 영상, 데이터서비스등자원할당요구사항이서로다른멀티미디어서비스의 QoE을지원할수있다. Outage 확률과데이터처리율을성능척도로하여수행된시뮬레이션을수행하고결과를분석한다. Outage 확률과데이터처리량을성능척도로하여수행된시뮬레이션결과에의하면제안된방안이기존방안에비하여더우수한성능을가짐이확인된다. Abstract Quality of experience (QoE) for multimedia services in macro-femtocell networks is one of the key issues for 5G mobile and wireless communications. A service management structure needs to guarantee the QoE for mobile users based on end-to-end negotiation to support service continuity. Resource management is necessary to maintain the QoE requirements of different multimedia applications, because service continuity may be impeded by delays. This paper proposes four types of resource management scheme to support consistent QoE for different multimedia services. For this purpose, a QoE structure is suggested, and a resource allocation scheme is proposed by utilizing a fixed amount of radio resources reserved for dedicated use to support QoE. Various multimedia services with different requirements (such as voice, image, and data) can be serviced simultaneously, because QoE can be provided under our proposed scheme. Simulation results show that our scheme provides better performance than a conventional scheme with respect to outage probability and total data throughput. Tel: chan2000@kunsan.ac.kr Received November 3, 2016 Accepted December 8, 서론 미래에는고품질멀티미디어서비스의다양화, 사물인터넷서비스확산등으로인하여무선데이터트래픽 Revised December 7, 2016 Published December 31, 2016 이폭발적으로증가할것으로예상된다. 현재의이동통신망기술로는이러한변화를수용할수없으므로가용주파수확보, 안테나기술의제약, 소형셀구성등의한계가있기에진보된기술이요구되고있다. 특히단일한 708

2 접속망을모든지역을커버할수있도록설치하는것이아니라소형셀인펨토셀영역위주로초고속데이터통신을지원하고, 펨토셀영역외의지역에는기존의시스템과의연동을통해어느지역에서든하나의 MT로최적의서비스를제공해야한다. 즉펨토셀을이용하여서비스반경을확대시키고실내외의펨토셀영역에서초고속서비스의저비용사용을가능하게한다 [1-4]. 차세대서비스의경우사물통신및디바이스간직접통신, 원격운전제어그리고멀티미디어온라인게임등지연에민감한실시간서비스가증대될것으로예상되고있다. 차세대이동통신망은클라이언트와서버간의단순한데이터전달이아니라데이터의특성을파악하고전달망에서효과적으로이를처리하는것이필요하다. 이를통하여전송지연을줄이고사용자가요구하는최적의서비스를보장할수있어야하므로 QoE(Quality of Experience) 제공방안이중요한문제로대두되고있다 [5-7]. QoS(Quality of Service) 는전달망에서대역폭과지연시간을사용자가원하는수준으로제공하는것으로서사용자에게까지이를전달하기위해서는서비스수준의 QoE가보장되어야한다. 즉, 각사용자는서비스의품질에대하여서로다른요구사항을가질수있으므로최종적으로 QoE를보장할수있어야한다 [8-10]. 기존의연구는 QoS 보장을위한네트워크자원예약및관리기술에집중되어왔다. 그러나각서비스의 QoS 특성과네트워크의 QoS 특성이매우다르고, 이로인하여상호연동이매우복잡해지므로서비스로의보급은매우저조하였다. 따라서현실적인측면에서도 QoE로의확장은필수불가결하다. 서비스제공자입장에서는 SLA 기준의서비스제공이지만최종적으로는사용자기준의서비스수준을보장해야하므로서비스제공자는 QoE를분석하여이에맞게전달망에서의 QoS 수준을정해야한다. 또한 SLA를통하여제공되는서비스들에대해지속적인 QoS 관리를통하여사용자의 QoE 만족을유지해야한다. 사용자의 QoE를효율적으로보장하기위해서는멀티미디어서비스의특성을기반으로자원관리를수행해야한다. 실시간성서비스의경우할당된일정량의전송률을전서비스시간에걸쳐서변화없이사용하는반면에, 비실시간성서비스의경우최소전송률과최대전송률을동시에지정함으로가용무선자원및무선링크의상태 에따라단말기는최소전송률과최대전송률사이에서전송률을조정할수있다. 본연구에서는상위의특성을기반으로 QoE를지원하기위한자원관리방안을제안한다. 각요구서비스의허용가능한지연을 MOS(Mean Opinion Score) 기준으로무선자원을효율적으로증대시킬수있는방안을제안한다. 본논문의구성은다음과같다. II장에서는본연구에서적용한시스템기능요구사항을기술하고, III장에서는각서비스부류별자원관리방안을제시한다. IV장에서는시뮬레이션을통해성능을평가하고 V장에서는본논문의결론과향후연구방향에대하여논한다. 2. 자원운용및 QoE 수준 2.1 무선자원운용방법본연구에서는무선자원을효율적으로관리하기위하여서비스형태에따라상이한관리방법을사용한다 [12]. - LL (Low Delay, Low Loss) 는지연에민감하며손실에도취약한특성을갖는실시간서비스이다. - LH (Low Delay, High Loss Class) 서비스는지연에민감하나손실에대해서는덜취약한특성을갖는실시간서비스이다. - HL(High Delay, Low Loss class) 서비스는지연에덜민감하나손실에는취약한특성을갖는비실시간서비스이다. - HH (High Delay, High Loss Class) 서비스는지연에민감하지않고손실에도덜취약한특성을갖는서비스이다. 매크로셀내에펨토셀이위치하는계층셀구조를이루므로망의자원은공유될필요가있다. 따라서본연구에서는매크로셀또는펨토셀에서사용자요구에부합하는자원이부족할경우에특정조건하에서서비스에게공유자원을할당한다. 그림 1과같이매크로셀전용자원인, 펨토셀전용자원인, 그리고공유자원인 로무선자원을분배한다. 709

Resource Allocation Strategy 2.2 QoE 수준결정표 1은서비스사용자의 QoE 수준을 5단계의수치로구분하는 MOS을나타내고있다. 서비스사용자의 QoE 기준은 Excellent(5) 의제공으로서서비스유지에대한 QoE의협약이 Fair(3) 이면전달망에서는이협약에적합한성능을제공해야한다. Table 1. LL 서비스 를 QoE의 유지에필요한서비스전송률 을수용하기위하여식 (3) 에의하여무선자원을할당한다. 여기서 은서비스 에할당가능한가용자원 ( 여기 서는부채널 ) 의양을의미하고, 는가용자원으로 부터획득가능한전송률의합을의미한다. (3) 무선자원의가용여부에따라두가지상태를고려할수있다. (4) 본연구에서는서비스유지를위한 QoE 수준으로서 MOS를적용하고 MOS의각수준은지연기준치로정의된다 [9]. 식 (4) 이성립될경우에서비스에게 수준의자원이할당된다. (1) (5) (2) QoE 성립조건은식 (1-2) 와같다. 여기서 은 MOS 지연수준이 Excellent(5), 은 MOS 지연수준이 Fair(3), 은협약된 MOS 지연수준을의미한다. 는전송지연과처리지연의합을의미한다. 식 (1) 은최소한 MOS 수준은 Fair(3) 을만족시켜야함을의미하고, 식 (2) 는지연 ( 전송지연과처리지연의합 ) 이 보다작아야함을의미한다. 3. 제안된방법 3.1 LL 서비스를위한 QoE 지원방법 LL 서비스는지연시간이짧으며손실에약한트래픽 식 (5) 이성립될경우에, QoE 수준의확보를위한무선자원을할당할수없으므로, 자원의부가적인추가가필요하다. 전송에필요한무선자원을확보하기위하여펨토셀과매크로셀의공유자원인 에서가용자원을할당한다. 식 (6) 이성립되는경우에는 을수용할수없으므로서비스는절단된다. 3.2 LH 서비스를위한 QoE 지원방법 LH 서비스는지연시간에민감하지만손실에강한 (6) 710

4 트래픽특성을갖는서비스이다. LH 서비스는데이터발생이가변적이므로, 항상극단적인지연이발생할수있는가능성이내재한다 [11]. 따라서지연이발생할경우, 부채널을추가할당함으로서전송지연을해결한다. LH 서비스를 QoE의 유지에필요한자원의양 (12) 식 (12) 의경우, 서비스 에 을부여한다. 을수용하기위하여식 (7) 에의하여무선자원을할당한다. (13) (7) 식 (13) 이성립되는경우에는 을수용할수 없으므로서비스 는절단된다. 무선자원의가용여부에따라두가지상태를고려할수있다. (8) 3.3 HL 서비스를위한 QoE 지원방법 HL 서비스는지연시간에민감하지않은반면에손실율보장이필요하므로 QoS 요구사항으로최소전송률을유지해야한다 [11]. HL 서비스는무선자원의가용여부에따라세가지상태를고려한다. 식 (8) 이성립될경우에서비스에게 QoE 수준의무선자원이할당된다. (14) (9) 식 (14) 의경우에서비스에게 을할당한다. 식 (9) 이성립될경우에가용자원의부족으로인하여서비스전송률을수용할수없으므로 QoE 수준을 로재조정한다. (10) 식 (10) 이성립될경우, 서비스 에조정된전송률 을부여한다. (11) 식 (11) 이성립할경우에추가무선자원이필요하다. 전송에필요한부가자원을확보하기위하여펨토셀과매크로셀의공유자원인 에서무선자원을확보한다. (15) 식 (15) 의경우에서비스 에게해당무선자원을할당한다. (16) 식 (16) 이성립할경우에 QoE 수준의확보를위하여부가자원이필요하다. 전송에필요한자원을확보하기 위하여 에서자원확보를시도한다. 여기서 는각무선자원에서발생하는지연의합, 는최대전송지연을의미한다. 711

(18) 식 (18) 이성립되는경우에는 을수용할수없으므로서비스 는절단된다. 3.4 HH 서비스를위한 QoE 지원방법 HH 서비스는 QoE 제공이거의없는서비스로서, 지연및손실에둔감하므로가용자원이있을경우에만한정된자원이할당된다 [11]. HH 서비스는가용자원의여부에따라두가지상태를고려한다. (19) 식 (19) 의경우에서비스 에 를할당한다. (20) (23) 식 (23) 이성립될경우에서비스 에게가용자원을할당한다. 4. 성능평가 7개의매크로셀과각매크로셀에 20개의펨토셀이균일하게분포된재사용도 1의매크로셀및펨토셀중첩망을고려하였다. MT의이동경로와속도는도로구조에의해영향을받으며이러한방향및속도의변화가 MT 이동패턴을지배한다. 단말기의이동속도에따라고속 MT와저속 MT로분류하였고저속 MT, 즉보행자는전체의 60% 를차지하며그들중 50% 가정지상태에있고나머지 50% 가보행상태에있는것으로분류하고고속 MT는전체의 40% 이라고가정하였다. 주요시스템레벨시뮬레이션은 OFDMA-based 3GPP LTE-Advanced system [12] 과 3GPP LTE Ericsson model [13] 의시스템레벨파라미터와채널구조를적용한다. 표 2에시뮬레이션파라미터를보인다. 식 (20) 의경우에서비스 에게해당무선자원을할당한다. (21) 식 (21) 의경우에가용자원이부족하므로대기큐에서우선순위를할당받은후대기한다. 식 (22) 과같이허용가능한최대전송지연기준치를초과하면, 자원점유의높은우선권을가지게되고버퍼에저장된패킷을전송하기위한자원할당을시도한다. Table 2. 6 그림 2는각매크로셀에 20개의펨토셀이중첩된환경에서제안된방법을성능을평가하기위한시뮬레이션시나리오를보이고있다 [16-18]. 메시지큐가신규세션및핸드오버요구를위한프리미티브 (primitive) 를위하여사용되고, RM-DB는접속망의자원및부하등의현재상태정보를저장하고, 제안된알고리즘과연결된다. 을허용함으로서감소된무선자원의할당을허용함과동시에낮은 QoE를허용함으로써 outage 확률이감소할수있다. 실시간성서비스의경우 QoE 허용수준이증가함으로서지연이감소할수있지만, 더많은무선자원을각서비스에할당해야하므로추가할자원의부족시에 outage 확률이증가한다. Fig. 2. Simulation Scenario 멀티미디어서비스요구는셀내에서고르게발생하며, 서비스의발생은포아송분포를따른다. 서비스는다양한전송률, 전송지연, 지속시간등을갖는다. 따라서제안된방법에대한영향을분석하기위하여표 3과같이실시간과비실시간서비스를각각고려하였다 [16-18]. Table 3. Comparison of Outage Probability 그림 4는각서비스부류의도착률의증가에따른총데이터처리량을보인다. 실시간성서비스의경우, 비실시간성서비스에비하여데이터처리량이증가함을알수있다. 이는비실시간성서비스에비하여지연조건에민감하게 QoE를적용하고이에의하여 QoE 허용수준이증가함으로서자원할당량이증가하기때문이다. 이를통하여각서비스의데이터처리량이증가하고 QoE 를지속적으로지원할수있다. 그림 3은제안방안의 outage 확률을각서비스부류의도착률의변화에따라비교한결과이다. 실시간성서비스에비하여비실시간성서비스의 outage 확률이감소함을알수있다. 비실시간성서비스의경우일정한지연 Fig. 4. 7 한국산학기술학회논문지제 17 권제 12 호, 결론 본논문에서는매크로- 펨토셀이중첩된이동통신망에서 QoE를지원하기위한자원관리방안을제안한다. 이방법은자원을멀티미디어서비스특성에따라 4개의부류로분류하고지연특성에근거하여자원을할당하는방법이다. 제안된방안의성능을평가하기위하여 outage 확률과데이터처리율을주요성능척도로규정하고성능을분석하였다. 향후본연구를 5G 시스템에적용하기위하여접속망및코어망과의연계를고려한 QoE 방법의연구가필요하다.
