Safety precaution 1. Read these instructions. 2. Keep these instructions. 3. Heed all warnings. 4. Follow all instructions. 5. Do not use this apparatus near water. 6. Clean only with a dry cloth. 7. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer s instructions. 8. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat. 9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the grounding-type plug. A grounding plug has two blades and a grounding prong. The wide blade or third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit your outlet, consult an electrician for the replacement of the obsolete outlet. 10. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus. 11. Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/ apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over. 12. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time. 13. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped. 14. Use the mains plug to disconnect the apparatus from the mains. 15. WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT EXPOSE THIS APPARATUS TO RAIN OR MOISTURE. 16. WARNING: THIS APPLIANCE SHALL BE CONNECTED TO A MAINS SOCKET OUTLET WITH A PROTECTIVE EARTHING CONNECTION. 17. DO NOT EXPOSE THIS EQUIPMENT TO DRIPPING OR SPLASHING AND ENSURE THAT NO OBJECTS FILLED WITH LIQUIDS, SUCH AS VASES, ARE PLACED ON THE EQUIPMENT. 18. THE MAINS PLUG OF THE POWER SUPPLY CORD SHALL REMAIN READILY OPERABLE. TO PREVENT ELECTRIC SHOCK DO NOT REMOVE TOP OR BOTTOM COVERS. NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE. REFER SERVICING TO QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL. TO COMPLETELY DISCONNECT THIS EQUIPMENT FROM THE AC MAINS, DISCONNECT THE POWER SUPPLY CORD PLUG FROM THE AC RECEPTACLE. THE MAINS PLUG OF THE POWER SUPPLY CORD SHALL REMAIN READILY OPERABLE. 6
Safety precaution ENGLISH WATCH FOR THESE SYMBOLS: The lightning bolt triangle is used to alert the user to the risk of electric shock. The exclamation point triangle is used to alert the user to important operating or maintenance instructions. This device is designed and evaluated under the condition of 2000 meters tall above sea level; and, it can be only used in locations below 2000 meters tall above sea level. Using the device above 2000 meters altitude would result in high safety risk. The device is designed and evaluated under the condition of non-tropical climate; and, it can be only used in locations in non-tropical climate areas. Using the device in tropical climate areas would result in high safety risk. IMPORTANT TA-E41 amplifier requires Class 2 output wiring. MAGNETIC FIELD CAUTION! Do not locate sensitive high-gain equipment such as preamplifiers or tape decks directly above or below the unit. Because this amplifier has a high power density, it has a strong magnetic field which can induce hum into unshielded devices that are located nearby. The field is strongest just above and below the unit. If an equipment rack is used, we recommend locating the amplifier(s) in the bottom of the rack. S A F E T Y C O N N E C T I O N E T C. 7
Grounding precautions Warning Make sure to connect the ground wire to the ground terminal. The unit not grounded or improperly grounded can cause fire or electric shock. Also, there is the possibility of getting electric shocks from other devices(monitor, karaoke machine, microphone) connected to the amp. What is grounding? This product is used in karaoke bar or karaoke room, and operates with other devices such as karaoke machine, speaker, LDP, video channel separator, satellite receiver and microphone in complex connections, therefore needs to be grounded and class 3 grounding construction must be performed to prevent fires or electric shocks. Grounding is the most basic safety measure in any electronic devices, and insufficient grounding device can cause degrading performance of the unit, damages to the unit or malfunctioning. Thus proper grounding measure must be installed in order to prevent injuries, damages to the unit and malfunctioning. Improper grounding installation can prevent circuit breaker from working properly in cases of over load or other mechanical problems of the unit, making damages to the unit or fire unpreventable. Also, residual current device may not function properly, be unable to prevent injuries to human from electric shock, and it is especially dangerous in humid, raining weather. Rapid voltage fluctuations(from few hundred thousand to million V) from thunderbolts can cause fire, damage to the unit, or even injuries. Reasons for grounding construction - To prevent electric shocks from residual current due to blazed or damaged insulating material. (equipment grounding) - To prevent electric shocks from high voltage clash accidents that can damage human by dispersing high voltage currents to the ground..(system grounding) - To prevent thunderbolt damages.(shielding) - To make relays to work fast and accurately in case of ground fault accidents in power cables, high voltage cables, bus lines.(grounding) - Reduce dielectric strength and suppress voltage to ground in abnormal high voltage situations from equipment or relays. If not grounded If there is an electric leakage in electronics equipment, metal casing is charged electricity and can injure human upon touching. This unit is used in karaoke bar or karaoke room, and operates with other devices such as karaoke machine, speaker, LDP, video channel separator, satellite receiver and microphone in complex connections, therefore, if not grounded properly or no ground constructions were done, there is a high chance of electric shock damage through lips touching microphone. If grounded If metal casing is grounded, most of the electric leakage goes to the ground through ground wire, preventing electric shocks. Grounding will also reduce malfunctioning of the unit and noises, allowing the unit to perform as designed. 8
About power This unit uses 220V A.C. In case of problem with the unit, do not open the cover as there is danger of electric shock and fire. There may be risk of fire hazard if specified voltage and fuse are not used. ENGLISH WARNING CAUTION Before unplugging the power plug This unit uses 220V A.C. In case of problem with the unit, do not open the cover as there is danger of electric shock and fire. There may be risk of fire hazard if specified voltage and fuse are not used. Use the specified cord for power Using unspecified wires or extending wires can heat up the wires, causing fire or electric shock. S A F E T Y C O N N E C T I O N E T C. 9
