Co., Ltd., 150 Mongnae-ro, Danwon-gu, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi 15597, Korea (Received 23 August 2017 / Revised 4 September 2017 / Accepted 6 September 2017) Abstract : Intermediate Shaft(hereinafter referred to as I-Shaft) is a torque transmitting device that inter-connects the steering column and the steering gear that constitute the steering system. The input/output torque fluctuation attributed to the I-shaft rotational torque is due in turn to NVH and product damage. Therefore, in this study, we tried to refine the influence of the Yoke bearing hole on the performance of the I-Shaft(NVH, torque fluctuation) by CAE analysis. The true position of the Yoke bearing hole of the sliding type I-Shaft is predicted to be insensitive to the fluctuation of its torque with respect to the variation of the position of 0.3 or less at maximum. Key words : EPS( 전기식파워스티어링 ), CAE( 유한요소해석 ), Yoke(I-Shaft 구성부품 ), Gear box( 기어박스 ), I -Shaft( 중간축연결대 ), Steering column( 핸들샤프트 ) 1. 서론 1) 차량의스티어링시스템은차량전기화등스마트한자율주행시스템화로지속적으로진보되어개발되고있다. 스티어링시스템구성부품중 I-Shaft 는상부로스티어링컬럼샤프트에조립되고, 하부로스티어링기어샤프트에연결되어스티어링핸들의조향력을전달하는주된기능외에차량주행시차체의전달음및노면의진동, 소음을흡수하는기능, 차량충돌시차체에서밀려오는변위를흡수하여운전자의하체상해를방지할수있는충격흡수기능, 조립및탈거가용이하도록작업자의조립성을향상시키는기능등을수행하는데없어서는안될중요부품이다. * Corresponding author, kwongmo.koo@nyi.co.kr I-Shaft는차량조건및상기기능들을만족하기위해다양한형태로개발되고있으며대표적인타입으로는슬라이딩타입, 솔리드타입, Rubber Coupling 타입, Disk 타입그리고 Rubber Isolation 타입등으로구분된다. 최근자동차메이커개발동향을보면차량전기화에따라민감도증진을위해성능에대한요구사항을꾸준히강화하는추세로, 특히일부고급차종에적용되는알루미늄 I-Shaft는특성상 I-Shaft의 Yoke bearing hole의어긋남위치 ( 진위치도 ) 에따른회전토크변동요구사항과관련된기하공차강화가필요한상황이다. 따라서본연구과제는회전토크변동성능에연계되어있는 Yoke bearing hole의어긋남위치 ( 진위치도 ) 가회전토크성능에어떻게영향을미치는지, 742

2 고강도알루미늄 I-Shaft 의 Yoke Bearing Hole 위치에따른토크변동영향도분석 그리고요구성능을부합하기위해 Yoke bearing hole의최대어긋남위치로제시되는악의공차 (0.5 mm, 통상 0.1 mm) 내에서의적정설계가능성을확인하고자한다. 2. 본론 I-Shaft는스티어링컬럼과스티어링기어의 Layout을보상하기위해 Fig. 1과같이 Yoke와스파이더로결합된 2개의유니버셜조인트구조를가진다. 이유니버셜조인트의 Alignment는 I-Shaft 자체의회전토크변동성의원인이되며이 Alignment는 Yoke bearing hole의위치가핵심인자로작용된다. 2 Base Case Study Table 3과같이 CAE 진행시 Universal Joint부에두개의 Universal Joint 조건, Sliding부에 Ball contact 조건으로 Base case에대한 X축방향토크변동결과를관찰하였다.

Table 4와같이 Base case 해석결과, X축방향토크변동이 5.05 Nm 발생하는것을관찰할수있었다. 2.2 단일 Universal Joint Study 단일 Universal Joint Case 설정 Table 5와같이상부에단일 Universal Joint만적용되었을경우 (Case 2), 하부에단일 Universal Joint 만적용되었을경우 (Case 3) 의 X축방향토크변동영향도차이를관찰하였다. 4 Effects Analysis of I-Shaft Torque Modulation according to the True Position of Yoke Bearing Hole Table 5 Universal joint case setting Case 단일 Universal Joint Case 분석 결과 Case 3 Case 2, 3 해석 결과는 Table 6, 7과 같으며, Table 8 과 같이 해석 비교 결과, X축 토크 반력 차이값은 Case 2의 경우 Nm, Case 3의 경우 Nm 로, 단일 Universal Joint는 꺾임각으로 인해 고정축에 대한 토 크 반력이 상당히 크게 발생되는 것이 관찰되었다. 이를 위해 상부/하부 2개의 Universal Joint를 적용 하 고 전달 토크 위상차를 최적화함으로써 Base case(case -상부 단일 Universal joint -하부 단일 Universal joint 1)의 경우와 같이 5.05 Nm로 최소화함을 관찰하였다. Von Mises Stress (Mpa) Table 13과같이 Column-Yoke와 Gear-Yoke의 Yoke bearing hole이같은방향으로 0.5 mm offset되었을경우보다, (-1.7 %), 반대방향으로 0.5 mm offset 되었을때, (+25 %), 토크변동영향이더큰것으로관찰되었다. 2.4 Yoke Bearing Hole 위치의방향에따른 Study 상기 2.3항의해석결과로부터 Column-Yoke와 Gear-Yoke의 Yoke bearing hole이반대방향으로 Offset 되었을경우토크진폭의영향이가장큰것을확인하였고, 이가장악조건에서의 Offset 크기에따른토크변동영향도를관찰하였다. Table 14와같이 Column-Yoke와 Gear-Yoke의 Yoke bearing hole의 Offset 크기에따른해석결과, Output 토크진폭은 Offset 0.1 mm에약 5 % 씩증가하는경향을관찰하였다. 따라서토크변동사용영역은통상적으로자동차메이커에서 15 % 이하로 Transactions of the Korean Society of Automotive Engineers, Vol. 25, No. 6,

Von Mises Stress (Mpa) 관리됨을고려할때 Yoke의 Offset( 위치도 ) 은 0.3 mm 이하수준이면 I-Shaft 성능에미치는영향은둔감할것으로예측된다. 3. 결론알루미늄슬라이딩타입 I-Shaft의회전토크변동성능에연계되어있는 Yoke bearing hole의진위치도를제품성능에대한영향도확인과가용범위를정립하기위해 CAE 분석을통해확인하였다. 본연구를통하여다음과같은결과를얻었다. 1) 2개의유니버셜조인트는조립위치에따라전달토크의위상차를최적화함으로써조향회전토크를최소화됨을확인할수있었다. 2) 토크변동율은 Column-Yoke와 Gear-Yoke의 Bearing hole의 Offset은고정축의변화를가져오므로회전축에 Offset 양만큼영향이있음을확인할수있었다. 3) 토크변동율은 Column-Yoke와 Gear-Yoke의 Bearing hole이같은방향으로 0.5 mm Offset되었을경우보다 (-1.7 %), 반대방향으로 0.5 mm Offset되었을경우에 (+25 %) 영향이더큰것을확인할수있었다. 4) Column-Yoke와 Gear-Yoke의 Bearing hole의 Offset 은 0.1 mm에약 5 % 씩증가하는경향을확인할수있었고, 이에따라토크변동사용영역은통상적으로자동차메이커에서 15 % 이하로관리됨을고려할때 Yoke의 Offset( 위치도 ) 이 0.3 mm 이하수준이면 I-Shaft 성능에미치는영향은둔감할것으로예측된다. 748 한국자동차공학회논문집제 25 권제 6 호, 2017
