Vol. 19, No. 5 : 1055~1062 May PPP 기반항법알고리즘을이용한파고계측시스템설계및구현 송세필 조득재 * 박슬기 Development of Wave Monitoring System using Precise Point Positioning Se Phil Song Deuk Jae Cho * Sul Gee Park Marine Safety Research Division, Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering, Daejeon , Korea 요약 본논문에서는 GPS 위치정보를이용한파고계측시스템을제안한다. 제안한시스템은이중주파수측정치및 GPS 정밀위성정보를이용하여위치를추정하는 PPP 기반항법알고리즘을사용한다. 이를이용하여기준국으로부터보정정보를받는 RTK 나 DGPS 기반파고계와달리기준국과의거리에관계없이높은정확도로위치추정이가능하다. 그리고 GPS 단독으로운용되는간단한시스템이므로, 가속도계기반파고계측시스템처럼다른센서를이용하여누적되는위치오차를보정할필요가없다. 제안한파고계측시스템을테스트하기위하여경북울진죽변항인근해역에제안한시스템과기상청에서활용하는상용파고계를탑재한부표를설치하고, 시험운용하였다. 그리고부표로부터전송된두가지파고데이터를상호비교함으로써제안한시스템의성능을평가하였다. ABSTRACT A GPS based wave height meter system is proposed in this paper. The proposed system uses a dual-frequency measurements, a precise GPS satellite information and a PPP-based navigation algorithm to estimate the position with high accuracy. This method does not need to receive corrections from the reference stations. Therefore, unlike RTK based wave meter, regardless of the distance to the reference stations, it is possible to estimate position with high accuracy. This system is very simple and accurate system, but accelerometer-based system requires the other sensors such as GPS. Because position error is accumulated in the accelerometer system and must be removed periodically for high accuracy. In order to get the measurements and test the proposed wave height meter system, a buoy equipped with the test platform is installed on the sea near by Jukbyeon habor in Uljin, Korea. Vol. 19, No. 5 : 1055~1062 May Ⅰ. 서론바람에의하여발생한파도는바람이약해진뒤에도주기가길고완만한형태가되어해수면상에잔존하게되는데, 이를너울 (Swell) 이라고한다. 너울은태풍이발생하였을때, 서로다른지역에서발생한파랑이한지역에서중첩될때에특히크고강하게생성된다. 게다가맑은날씨에도파도가중첩되면돌발적으로강한너울이생성될수있다. 실제로 2014 년 10월 19일충남서천군홍원항인근에서낚시중이던카약이전복되었고, 6월 15일에는울진군후포항인근갯바위에서산책중이던관광객이너울에휩쓸려사망하는사고도있었다. 너울의위험성에대비하여강원도청의 너울성파도예 경보관제시스템 과같이폐쇄회로화면이나과거자료를기반으로하는시스템운용되고있지만, 위와같은특성을고려한다면너울을보다정확하게예측또는관측할수있는시스템이필요하다. 파고계는파고를계측하는장치이다. 특히해상의한지점에서지속적으로파고를계측하기위하여부표를이용하는파고계가주로이용된다. 이러한파고계는일반적으로 GPS(Global Positioning System) 수신기나가속도계를이용하여부표의위치정보를획득하고이에대한통계치를계산하여파고정보를획득한다. GPS 기반의파고계는수신기단독으로또는 RTK(Real Time Kinematic) 나 DGPS(Differential GPS) 기술을이용하여부표의위치정보를추정하고, 이로부터파고를계산한다. GPS 수신기를단독으로운용할경우에는보정정보를사용하는 RTK나 DGPS보다정확도가낮아진다. 반면에 RTK나 DGPS는부표의위치를정확하게추정할수있다. 하지만기준국으로부터의운용거리가멀어질수록정확도가낮아지기때문에먼바다에서의운용에는부적합하다. 가속도계는정확하게파고정보를얻을수있으며, RTK나 DGPS와는달리먼바다에서도운용가능하다. 그러나가속도계의일반적인특성상, 위치정보에오차가누적되므로 GPS와결합함으로써오차를보정하여야한다 [1,2]. 본논문에서는정확한 GPS 위치정보를이용한파고계측시스템을제안하였다. 제안한시스템은이중주파수측정치및 GPS 정밀위성정보를이용하여높은정확 도로위치를추정하는 PPP(Precise Point Positioning) 기반항법알고리즘을사용하였다. 이방법은 RTK와달리기준국으로부터데이터를받을필요가없기때문에기준국과의거리와무관하게높은정확도로위치추정이가능하다. 아울러부표의정확한위치를구함과동시에정확한파고정보를획득할수있다. 본논문에서제안한파고계측시스템을테스트하기위하여울진죽변항인근해역에파고계측용테스트플랫폼을탑재한부표를설치하였다. 그리고설치된부표로부터전송된데이터를기반으로제안한시스템과상용파고계의파고계측결과를상호비교하여성능을평가하였다. Ⅱ. 위치정보기반파고계측 2.1. 파랑과파고그림 1은파랑의주요성분을나타낸것이다. 파랑을사인파형태의해수면변화라고할때, 최고점인마루 (Crest) 와최저점인골 (Trough) 사이의거리를파고 (Wave height) 라고하며, 파랑의곡선이해수면과교차하는점사이의거리를파장 (Wavelength) 이라고한다. 그림 1. 파랑의주요성분 Fig. 1 Characteristics of the Sea Wave 실제해상에서는다수의파랑이중첩되므로해수면의변화가심하다. 따라서파고의분석에는최대파고, 유의파고, 평균파고와같은통계적요소가도입된다. 즉, 각파고정보는관측기간동안측정지점을통과하는 N개의파도에대한통계정보를이용하여계산한다. 최대파고란 N개의파도중가장높은파도의파고를의미하고, 평균파고는 N개의파도의평균높이이며, 유의파고란 N개의파도중가장높은 N/3개의 유의파 의높이를평균한값이다. 유의파고는관측된작은파 1056

3 PPP 기반항법알고리즘을이용한파고계측시스템설계및구현 까지포함, 평균하여파고를산출하는산술평균값보다큰값을갖는다 부표형파고계측시스템부표를이용하는파고계는해수면의높이변화를계측하고이로부터파고정보를얻는다. 부표형파고계에서주로사용되는센서에는가속도계와 GPS가있다 가속도계기반파고계가속도계기반파고계는가속도계를장착한부표를해상에두고파도에의하여변하는부표의궤적을추적하는방식으로파고를계측한다. 현재기상청에서는그림 2와같은 OE-700 파고계측부표를파고, 파향계측에활용하고있다. 그림 3. 파고계측및데이터로거시스템 Fig. 3 Data Logger and Sensors 표 1. OE-700 파고, 파향측정시스템 Fig. 2 OE-700 Wave Monitoring System OE-700에는그림 3의파고계측장치가탑재되어있다. 이장치는파고를계측하고, 데이터를전송하는데이터로거및 3축가속도센서, 부표의위치정보를획득하기위한 GPS 수신기로구성되어있다. 파고계에서실시간으로계측한정보는 CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) 또는 INMARSAT (INternational MARitime SATellite organization) 통신을이용하여주기적으로지상에전송한다. 이시스템의주요사양은다음의표 1과같다 [3]. 이시스템과같은대부분의가속도계기반파고계는위치정보를얻거나누적되는가속도계의오차를보정하기위하여 GPS를별도로장착하거나주기적으로가속도계를초기화하는구조이다. 따라서연속적인파고정보를획득하기어려운단점이있다 RTK 기반파고계 RTK는기준국의정확한데이터를이용함으로써동적환경에서도 10cm 이하의오차로수신기의위치를추정할수있는매우정확한측위방법이다. RTK 기반파고계측시스템은 GPS 기반의파고계측시스템중에서도지진해일계측에사용되는가장정확한파고계이다. 그림 4의일본기상청에서운용하는쓰나미예측용파고관측장비인 NOWPHAS(The Nationwide Ocean Wave information network for Ports and HArbourS) 는 RTK 기반의파고계를사용하는대표적인시스템이다. 이 RTK 기반의시스템은오차 10cm 이하의정확도로부표의위치를추정할수있다. 하지만 RTK는기준국으로부터거리가멀어질수록위치추정결과의정확도가낮아지므로, 실제로는해안으로부터 10~20km 이내의지역에만설치하여운용되고있다 [4]. 1057

PPP 기반파고계측시스템설계 부표의정확한위치를추정하는것은부표를이용하는시스템에서가장중요한요소이다. 앞서밝힌바와같이기존의 RTK 기반파고계측시스템은기준국에가까울수록위치정보가정확하지만, 기준국으로부터멀어지면정확도가감소한다. 본논문에서는해상어느곳에서나정확하게파고를측정하는시스템을설계하기위하여대표적인단독정밀측위기법인 PPP 기반의항법알고리즘을이용하였다 PPP 기반항법알고리즘 GPS 측정치에는위성에서송신된신호가지상의수신기에도달하는전과정에서발생한오차가포함된다. RTK에서는식 (1), 식 (2) 의오차성분을제거하기위하여기준국의정확한데이터를차분하여오차를제거한다. 반면에 PPP 기반의알고리즘은 IGS(International GNSS Service) 네트워크로부터얻은정확한위성정보를사용하고, GPS 측정치에포함된오차를계산하거나추정함으로써수신기의위치오차를줄이는방법이다. 따라서 PPP 알고리즘은인터넷이갖춰진환경이라면기준국과의거리와무관하게정확한측위가가능하다. 본논문에서사용한 PPP 기반항법알고리즘은그림 5 와같다. GPS 수신기의 L1, L2 코드측정치 및반송파측정치 는다음의식 (1), 식 (2) 와같다 [5]. (1) (2) 여기서, 는위성과수신기사이의거리, 는위성시계오차, 는수신기시계오차, 는대류권지연오차, 는전리층지연오차, 는반송파파장, 는위성및수신기의안테나위상중심오프셋, 지구조석등의오차성분, 는미지정수, 은측정치잡음이다. 이중주파수수신기의측정치에서수식적으로오차를제거하기위하여이중주파수측정치를선형조합한 Ionospheric free 측정치를사용한다. 식 (1), 식 (2) 를각각선형조합하면식 (3) 의 Ionospheric free 코드측정치 및식 (4) 의 Ionospheric free 반송파측정치 를얻을수있다 [6, 7]. PPP 알고리즘에서는식 (3), 식 (4) 에포함된오차 를정확한오차모델을사용하여계산한다. 위성의위치및시계정보는 IGS(International GNSS Service) 네트워크에속한독일 DLR(Deutsches zentrum für Luft- 1058

5 PPP 기반항법알고리즘을이용한파고계측시스템설계및구현 und Raumfahrt) 에서제공하는고정밀 GNSS 위성정보인 RETICLE(REal TIme CLock Estimation) Product를사용한다. 본논문에서는표 2와같이측정치에포함된오차및오차모델을고려하였다. 표 2. Mapping Function Niell / Global MF[12] Antenna PCO & PCV IGS08.atx[8, 13] Tidal Effect(Solid Earth Tide) IERS conventions 2010[14] Tidal Effect(Ocean tide) NAO99/ FES2004[14, 15] Tidal Effect(Pole Tide) IERS conventions 2010[14] Phase wind up Wu[16] 파고계에탑재된 GPS 수신기의측정치는무선통신망을거쳐육상의관제모듈로전송된다. 관제모듈에서는부표로부터전송된데이터와 PPP 기반알고리즘을이용하여부표의위치를추정한다. 이를위하여 IGS 네트워크의정밀위성정보를수신할수있어야한다. 제안한시스템에서는 PPP 기반항법알고리즘으로부터누적된부표의위치정보를기반으로파고정보를계산한다. 제안한시스템은 PPP를기반으로하기때문에, 지상과의거리에영향을받지않는다. 따라서 INMARSAT 과같은통신방식을사용한다면기존의 RTK, DGPS 기반파고계와달리원해에서도높은정확도로부표의위치를추정할수있다. 그리고또한 GPS 측정치를육상의관제장치로전송하는방식이므로기존에운영되고있는기상관측부표를그대로활용할수있으며, 이때기존기상관측부표의파고계도보조장치로사용하여데이터를안정적으로획득할수있다 PPP 기반파고계측시스템그림 6은본논문의 PPP 기반알고리즘을포함하는파고계측시스템을나타낸다. 전체시스템은파고계, 기상센서, GPS 수신기가탑재된부표와육상의관제모듈로구성된다. PPP 기반항법알고리즘은 L1 및 L2 GPS 신호를이용하므로, 이를지원하는수신기를탑재하도록하였다. 아울러기상센서를같이탑재하여실시간기상정보를수집함으로써대류권지연오차와같은기상정보를요구하는오차모델에서사용할수있도록하였다. 그리고데이터검증및시스템이중화를통한안정성확보를위하여별도의상용파고계를병렬로연결하도록하였다. Ⅳ. 파고계측시스템의성능평가제안한시스템을그림 7과같이경상북도울진군죽변항으로부터약 1km 떨어진위치에설치하고실험을진행하였다. 본논문에서의실험을위하여 GPS 수신기는 NovAtel 사의 FlexPak6, 안테나는 Trimble 사의 Zephyr-II를탑재하였다. 육상과의통신에는 LTE 이동통신망을사용하여실시간으로데이터를받아저장하고이를부표의위치계산및파고계측에사용하였다. 그림 6. 6 한국정보통신학회논문지 (J. Korea Inst. Inf. Commun. Eng.) Vol. 19, No. 5 : 1055~1062 May 아울러제안한시스템의파고정보를검증하고이중화를통한시스템안정성확보를위하여기상청에서운용중인파고계측부표 OE-700의파고계측시스템을탑재하고, 두파고계측시스템의데이터를동시에확인할수있도록시스템을구성하였다. 그림 8. PPP 수직측위결과 Fig. 8 PPP Positioning Results(in Vertical direction) 다. 부표의높이가수직방향으로 2일간약 ± 2m 내에서변화했음을알수있다. 제안한시스템의 PPP 알고리즘을이용하여추정한부표의위치정보를토대로파고정보를계산한다음, 부표에탑재된상용파고계의데이터와상호비교하였다. 그림 9의그래프는부표의수직위치정보를이용하여파고정보의통계를산출한결과와상용파고계의파고정보를나타낸다. 가속도계기반파고계는 30분마다최근 10분간의부표위치정보를수집한다음이를계산하여파고를구하기때문에 30분마다 1개의데이터를출력하고있으며, 본논문에서제안한시스템은매초마다최근 10분간의위치정보를토대로파고정보를연속적으로계산하기때문에선형그래프의형태를갖는다. 두결과의차를비교하면 20 cm 이하의값을갖는것을알수있는데, 이는상용파고계가갖는오차와 PPP 알고리즘의오차 10cm를고려하면유사한계산결과를얻었다고할수있다 [17]. Ⅴ. 결론 그림 9. 파고계산결과의비교 (PPP, 상용파고계 ) Fig. 9 Comparison of Results from PPP and Wave Height Meter 본논문의 PPP 기반파고계측시스템의성능을평가하기위하여제안한시스템을통하여계산된파고정보와상용파고계의출력정보를비교하였다. 그림 8은 2014년 7월 5일 00:00(UTC) 부터 7월 7일 00:00(UTC) 까지위치추정결과를구한다음, 첫 epoch의위치정보를기준으로부표의수직위치변화를계산한결과이 본논문에서는해양파를계측하기위한파고계측시스템를설계하였다. 기존 RTK, DGPS 기반의시스템은매우정확하지만기준국에인접한해역에만설치가능한단점이있다. 그리고가속도계기반시스템은센서의특성상초기화내지 GPS와의결합을통한오차보정및부표위치획득이필요하였다. 하지만제안한시스템은 PPP 기반의항법알고리즘을사용하여 GPS 수신기만으로도간단하게장치를설계하였다. 아울러기준국과의거리에대한제약없이연속적으로정확하게위치를추정하였으며, 파고계측결과도기존의시스템과거의유사한성능을나타냄을확인하였다. 기존의파고계측시스템들처럼 INMARSAT과같은통신방법을적용한다면, 먼바다에서도해수면의수위변화및해양파를정확하게계측할수있을것이다. 아울러너울이나지진해일의계측을위해서는너울또는지진해일외의해양파성분을검출하여제거하는필터가필요하다. 따라서향후연구에서는이러한기능들을구현하고성능을확인하여야할것이다. 1060
