. Checking Included Items Tke out the C (color) crtridge from the pckge nd remove the lel. Power cord Setup CD-ROM for Windows PC Remove the protective tpe. ENGLISH Crtridge Ink ottle Sfety nd Importnt Informtion Getting Strted (this mnul). Removing Pcking Mterils Do not touch. Insert the C (color) crtridge on the left. Remove the pcking mterils (such s ornge tpe) from outside the printer. Open the scnning unit / cover. Remove the ornge tpe nd the protective mteril nd discrd them. 5 6 Do not ump it ginst the surrounding prts. Repet steps to to insert the B (lck) crtridge on the right. Close the crtridge locking cover nd push it down.. Instlling the Crtridge Open the crtridge locking cover. 7 Press down oth joint uttons.
. Turning on Printer Open the ink tnk cover. LIFT UP the scnning unit / cover, nd then close it. Gr nd remove the tnk cp of the ink tnk. Connect the power cord. Hold the ink ottle upright nd remove the ottle cp. Bck Do not connect ny cles except the power cord yet. Press the ON utton. 5 Insert the nozzle of the ink ottle into the inlet nd stnd the ink ottle upside down. Confirm tht (Ink icon) nd re displyed on the screen. If different screen ppers, refer to "If ny of the following screens pper" on pge to resolve the error. 5. Pouring Ink 6 Pour ll ink into the ink tnk. Confirm tht the ink hs een filled to the upper limit line (A). (A) This product requires creful hndling of ink. Ink my spltter when the ink tnks re filled with ink. If ink gets on your clothes or elongings, it my not come off. Open the scnning unit / cover.
7 Replce the tnk cp securely. 6. Prepring the Ink System Press the Blck utton nd confirm tht (Ink icon) disppers. ENGLISH 8 Close the ink tnk cover. Flshing Turns off 9 Repet steps to 8 to pour ll ink into the corresponding ink tnks on the right ccording to the lel. Ink preprtion tkes out 5 to 6 minutes. Proceed to the next pge. If ny of the following screens pper Confirm tht the ink hs een filled to the upper limit line (A). (A) Ink icon Numer or letters The crtridges re not instlled correctly. ". Instlling the Crtridge" on pge No crtridges re instlled. ". Instlling the Crtridge" on pge 0 LIFT UP the scnning unit / cover, nd then close it. The protective mterils re not removed. ". Removing Pcking Mterils" on pge Ink is not prepred normlly. Press the ON utton to restrt the printer, nd then see "5. Pouring Ink" on pge. Witing to prepre ink. "6. From here on, proceed to step ccording to how you use the printer. To use the printer y connecting only to computer or oth to computer nd smrtphone "7-A. Connecting to Computer" To use the printer without connecting to computer or smrtphone Press the Stop utton on the printer. Wit until ppers on the screen. The setup is now complete. To use the printer y connecting only to smrtphone "7-B. Connecting to Smrtphone" on pge 6 7-A. Connecting to Computer Windows You need connection setup for ech computer. Proceed with the setup from step for ech computer. Strt the setup file for either method or method. Downloding from the Internet Open we rowser ( etc.) on your computer. Using Setup CD-ROM (Windows Only) Lod the Setup CD-ROM in your computer. When using Windows 0 or Windows 8.: When the following messge ppers on the right side of your computer screen, click it. When This Messge Does Not Apper (or Hs Disppered). Click File Explorer on the tskr. ENGLISH c If the following screen ppers, click Run Msetup.exe. d If the User Account Control dilog ox ppers, click Yes.. Click This PC on the left side of the opened window.. Doule-click the CD-ROM icon on the right side of the window. If the contents of the CD-ROM pper, doule-click Msetup.exe.. Proceed to step d. or When using Windows 7: When the AutoPly screen ppers, click Run Msetup.exe. c If the User Account Control dilog ox ppers, click Continue. When AutoPly Screen Does Not Apper. Click Computer from the strt menu.. Doule-click the CD-ROM icon on the right side of the opened window. If the contents of the CD-ROM pper, doule-click Msetup.exe. Proceed to step to continue. Click Strt Setup. If the following screen ppers, click Exit. Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with the setup. The setup is complete when computer. ppers on the printer's screen. 7-B. Connecting to Smrtphone ios Android You need connection setup for ech smrtphone. Proceed with the setup from step for ech smrtphone. Preprtion Turn on Wi-Fi on your smrtphone. If you hve wireless router, connect your smrtphone to the wireless router you wnt to connect to the printer. * For opertions, refer to mnuls of your smrtphone nd the wireless router or contct those mnufcturers. Instll the ppliction softwre Cnon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY in your smrtphone. : Serch "Cnon PRINT" in App Store. : Serch "Cnon PRINT" in Google Ply. Or ccess the Cnon wesite y scnning the QR code. * You my not connect your smrtphone to the Internet wirelessly during connecting the printer to the smrtphone directly. In tht cse, you my e chrged depending on the contrct with your service provider. * Up to 5 devices cn e connected to the printer vi wireless LAN connection directly. Check the disply on the printer. The screen turns off when no opertion is mde for out 0 minutes. Press one of the uttons on the opertion pnel (except for the ON utton) to disply the screen. If ny of the following screens pper: Proceed to. Rotting Flshing If the following screen ppers: If ppers, the printer is connected to network. If ppers, the printer cnnot communicte y wireless LAN connection. For detils, ccess "http://ij.strt.cnon" to see Frequently Asked Questions. Proceed to. Tp the instlled ppliction softwre. c Mke sure tht the following screen ppers. 6 Follow the on-screen instructions to register the printer. The connection with your smrtphone is now complete. You cn print from your smrtphone. To print photos, lod photo pper. Proceed to "Loding Pper" on pge 8.
Procedures elow vry depending on ios or Android. Select your operting system nd proceed to its procedure. Tp Settings on your smrtphone's home screen, nd tp Cnon_ij_XXXX in the Wi-Fi settings. Tp the instlled ppliction softwre. ENGLISH If Cnon_ij_XXXX does not pper on the list, see "Trouleshooting" elow to operte the printer, nd then repet step. Tp the instlled ppliction softwre. c Follow the on-screen instructions to register the printer. Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with the setup. If you select Auto Select Conn. Method (recommended) on the connection method selecting screen, the pproprite connection method is selected utomticlly depending on your environment. d Mke sure tht the following screen ppers. Follow the on-screen instructions to register the printer. If messge sying "Printer is not registered. Perform printer setup?" does not pper, see "Trouleshooting" elow to operte the printer, nd then wit for while until the messge ppers. Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with the setup. The pproprite connection method is selected depending on your environment. c Mke sure tht the following screen ppers. The connection with your smrtphone is now complete. You cn print from your smrtphone. To print photos, lod photo pper. Proceed to "Loding Pper" on pge 8. Trouleshooting Printer is not found from your smrtphone. Press nd hold the Direct utton on the printer for out seconds until the icon strts to flsh on the screen. Return to the opertion of your smrtphone. 7
Loding Pper Open the pper support. Lod pper with the print side fcing up. Slide the right pper guide to lign it with the side of the pper stck. Slide the right pper guide to the end. Pull out the pper output try. Open the output try extension. Copying Mke sure the printer is turned on. Lod plin LTR or A size pper. Open the document cover nd lod the document fce down on the plten glss. Align the document with the lignment mrk ( ). 5 To mke more thn one copy, use the + utton to set the desired numer of copies. 6 Press the Blck utton (A) for lck & white copying. Press the Color utton (B) for color copying. The printer strts copying. Close the document cover. (A) (B) 8
