The system is intended to transmit a security alert to the shore, when the ship is attacked by pirates, terrorists and so on, to indicate to a competent authority the security of the ship is under treat without making aware of the people on board.

Main Features of FELCOM16 SSAS Version Employs Inmarsat Mini-C system Multi-packet transmission enables simultaneous report to the owner as well as to an authority. Optional battery backs up power for 5 days max. GPS is incorporated. Compact antenna and main black box unit will provide ease of installation out of sight. Polling function enables tracking of the ship even though the ship was lost to communication. Data reporting function enables to inform ship s position at a regular interval. Inmarsat Mini-C system is proven for VMS(Vessel Monitoring System) as well. Main Features of FELCOM15 Employs Inmarsat C system Easiest solution of SSAS at minimum cost. Transmission of security alerts Conventional alert protocol is used. No audible/visible alarm on board Flip up the protection cover and press the alert button. The ship s position data along with date and time are transmitted when the alert button is pressed. The transmission of alert can be cancelled by pressing the alert button again within 30 seconds after activation.
