Waste yster shells are trublesme envirnmental waste in the castal regin where the ysters are prduced. Waste yster shells were pyrlyzed by benchscale rtary kiln fr its activatin. It shws maximum 76% f phsphrus remval efficiency fr the municipal wastewater and livestck wastewater. We fund that the activated yster shells can be used as a phsphrus remval agent with the cnsideratin f high efficiency, easy prcessing, and cst effectiveness. 2 CaO/CaCO Fig. 1. 다공체로 이루어진 활성 굴 패각의 물성 및 인 제거 효능에 관한 연구 55 A schematic diagram f rtary kiln used in this study. 킨 후 desicater에서 보관하여 사용하였다. 제조된 활성 굴 패각의 인과 반응 특성을 조사하기 위하여 하수 종말 처 리장의 활성오니조 유입수와 인근 축산 농가에서 채수한 폐수를 이용해 인제거 실험을 수행하였다. 활성굴패각 투 여량은 0 g, 유입수(페수)유량은 60 ml/min으로 설정하였 다. 실험에 사용된 폐수의 특성 및 활성굴패각의 폐수 적 용시 인제거 효율을 평가하기 위해 수질오염공정시험법 중 흡광광도법(아스코르빈산 환원법)에 준하여 인의 농도 를 측정하였다. 4). 결과 및 고찰 일반적으로 굴 패각은 CaCO 로 이루어진 layered structure 를 이루고 있으며 유기물이 layered structure 사이에 부착 된 layered structured cmpsite 구조를 갖는 것으로 알려 져 있으며, 굴 패각 내면의 광택이 있는 면은 SiO 로 이 루어진 것으로 알려져 있다. Fig. 는 굴 패각의 표면 및 파괴 단면의 미세구조를 보여주며 굴 패각 평면은 치밀 한 구조를 갖지만 다면 구조는 Fig. (b)에서 보여주는 것 과 같이 nm 두께의 판상 다공체 구조로 이루어져 있다. 굴 패각의 화학조성을 정량 분석한 결과는 Table 1에서 보여주는 것과 같다. 사용된 굴 패각의 성분은 열분해 시 키지 않은 조건에서 CaCO 가 9.5%로 주성분을 이루고 있 으며, 그 외 Na, Mg, Si 등의 미량성분으로 구성되어 있다. Fig. 는 굴 패각 분말에 대한 열중량 분석의 결과를 보 여준다. O 분위기에서 열처리된 굴 패각은 45.1 wt%의 중량감소를, N 분위기에서 열분해한 굴패각은 wt% 의 중량 감소를 보인다. 이것은 화학 양론적으로 볼 때, 굴 패각의 주성분인 CaCO ( g)에서 CO (44 g)의 열 분해에 의한 중량 손실인 4.97 wt%와 비슷한 값을 나타 Fig.. Table 1. Fig. 4 은 수거된 굴 패각 및 산소 및 질소 분위 하에서 열처리 된 굴 패각의 XRD pattern을 보여준다. 산소 분위기 하에 제 47 권 제6호(010)

N 분위기 650 C에서 열분해 한 굴 패 각(POS)의 미세구조는 HOS에서 보여주는 미세구조와 비 슷한 형태로 관찰되었으나, 열처리 온도를 750 C로 증가 시킴에 따라 POS의 미세구조는 Fig. 5(d)에서 보여주는 것과 같이 작은 입자로 이루어진 다공체로 이루어졌다. 따라서, N 분위기하에서 열처리된 굴 패각에서는 CaCO 가 CaO로 분해됨에 따라 CaO 및 CaCO 로 이루어진 다 공체가 형성됨을 알 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 퓨리에 변환 적외선 분광기(Furyer TransfrmInfrared : Research I series, MAttn U.K)를 이 용하여 CaO와 HOS, POS의 유무기 결합상을 조사하기 위하여 FTIR spectra를 조사하였다. Fig. 6에서는 POS와 HOS, CaO의 FRIR spectra를 보여준다. Fig. 6에서 보여 주는 것과 같이 HOS와 CaO의 흡수띠가 거의 동일하게 관찰되었으나, POS의 흡수띠는 450 cm ~650 cm 의 범위 에서 HOS와 CaO에서 나타나지 않은 강한 OH 작용기 흡수띠가 관찰되었다. CaO는 일반적으로 응집제로 널리 이용되는 물질이며, 인과 반응하여 HAp를 생성시킨다고 보고되어있기 때문에, HOS는 CaO와 비슷한 특성을 갖 을 것으로 생각되지만, POS는 POS 내의 강한 OH 작용 기에 의해 다른 특성을 나타낼 수 있을 것으로 생각된다. Table 는 N 분위기하에서 열분해한 굴패각 (POS)의 물리적 특성을 보여준다. 일반적으로 흡착제로 사용되는 활성탄의 비표면적은 85~187 m /g의 범위이었으나 열 분해한 굴패각의 비표면적은 4. m /g으로 활성탄에 비 해 표면적이 상당히 작은 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 열분해 Fig. 4. XRD pattern f raw yster shell: (a) raw yster shell, (b) heat treated yster shell in O atmsphere at 750 C, (c) heat treated yster shell in N atmsphere at 650 C, (d) heat treated yster shell in N atmsphere at 750 C. 서 열처리된 굴 패각에서는 CaCO H O가 열분해시 CaCO 로 변화되면서 CaCO peak가 열처리하지 않은 시료보다 커져 CaCO 성분이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 질소 분 위기 하에서 열처리된 시료에서는 열처리시 CaCO 가 열 분해되어 CaO가 형성되고 열처리 온도가 증가됨에 따라 서 열분해에 의해 생성되는 CaO 함량이 증가되는 것으 로 나타났다. 산소 및 질소 분위기하에서 열처리된 굴 패각의 SEM 미세구조는 Fig. 5에서 보여주는 것과 같다. Fig. 5는 열처리 되지 않은 굴 패각(ROS), O 분위기 하 에서 열처리된 굴 패각 (HOS) 및 N 분위기하에서 열처 리된 굴 패각(POS)의 SEM 미세구조를 보여준다. Fig. 5 에서 보여주는 것과 O 분위기하 750 C에서 열처리된 굴 패각(HOS)은 열처리후에 큰 크기의 CaCO 입자로 이루 어져 있으며 기공의 형성도 많이 관찰되지 않고 열처리 되지 않은 굴 패각의 미세구조과 비교하여 크게 다르게 한국세라믹학회지 1 1 6,7)
