Zircnia generally has ivry r white clr. Therefre many studies are perfrmed fr diversificatin f zircnia clr, in rder t be widely uitilized fr decratin and machine parts which need distincfive clr. In this study, graphite is used t prevent structural defect, t maintain superir prperties, and t develp black clr f zircnia by impregnatin methd. As specimen was impregnated at 1600 C fr h, bending strength is 11 MPa, density is 6.01 g/cm 3, hardness is 10.1 GPa, absrptin cefficient is 0%, transmittance is Fail, chrmaticity is 54. The results indicate that black zircnia has enugh prperties t be adpted as mechanical parts. Optimum impregnatin time is h fr varius bservatins. 2 이광호 안종필 박주석 이용석 이병하 380 Analysis f Prperties f Pre-sintered ZrO Specimens Vickers Flexural Fracture Prperty hardness Strength Tughness Density (g/cm ) (GPa) (MPa) (K ) Average abut Table c 이와 같이 다양한 용도로의 확대가 기대되는 지르코니 아의 색상발현에 대해 여러 연구가 진행되어, 물리 화학 적 코팅법에 의해 제품에 색상을 입히거나, 직접 고화도 의 무기안료를 지르코니아에 첨가함에 의해 다양한 색상 을 가지는 부품으로서의 제조 연구 도 있었으나, 이 경 우 피복된 색상이 벗겨진다든지, 첨가된 무기안료 자체가 결함으로 작용하여 강도, 경도 등의 제특성에 악영향을 미치는 등 산업 기계용 부품으로서의 활용에는 문제가 되 어 왔다. 이에 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위한 일련의 연구 로서 함침/탄화 방법의 활용이 거론되어지고 있다. 성형 체에 함침제 또는 탄화제를 첨가하여 일정 조건에서 소 성을 행하면 흑색 제품의 제조가 가능하다는 보고도 있 지만, 적절한 혼합 및 분산, 산화의 방지, 소결체의 기공 제어 등 많은 조건에 대한 제어가 이루어지지 않으면 제 특성의 발휘는 어렵기 때문에 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위 한 연구도 계속 진행되어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 제조상의 문제를 해결하여 안정 적으로 산업기계 부품으로서 활용 가능한 흑색의 지르코 니아를 제조하기 위해, 함침 조건에 따른 기계적 특성 변 화를 연구하고자 하였다. 11,1) Fig. 1. ( 1000). 실험방법 출발원료 주원료인 지르코니아는 가수분해법에 의해 제조된 부 분안정화 지르코니아(KZ-3YF, Kyritsu, Japan)를 사용하 였다. 이 후 이 분말을 spray dryer를 이용하여 과립화시 킨 후 유압프레스 장치를 이용하여 mm의 mld 로서 1.5 tn/cm 의 압력으로 성형체를 준비하였다. 이 후 성형된 지르코니아를 침탄하기 전 1차 소성 공 정으로서 고온전기로를 이용하여 1450 C, 시간 동안 소 성한 후 함침실험을 위한 시편을 준비하였다. Table. 1에 실험에 사용된 지르코니아 소결체의 특성을, Fig. 1에 미 세구조를 나타내었다. 소성된 지르코니아는 약 1.6%의 소성수축율을 나타내었고, 특성분석에서 보는 바와 같이 상대밀도 약 99.3%, 꺾임강도 약 190 MPa의 우수한 특 성을 나타내고 있다. Fig. 1의 미세구조에서도 치밀한 조 직으로 이루어져 있음이 확인되었다. 흑색을 발현시키기 위한 함침제로서 graphite를 이용하 여 함침 조건에 따른 기계적 특성 변화에 대하여 연구를 하고자 하였다. Fig. 8. 치밀화로 인한 것으로 사료된다. Fig. 7의 파괴인성 측정 결과에서도 경도 측정 결과와 비슷한 경향을 나타내었는 데 가장 높은 함침온도인 1750 C를 제외한 모든 조건에 서 1차 소결체에 비하여 높은 파괴인성 결과를 얻을 수 있었으며, 1600 C에서의 K 값도 10.5로 우수한 특성을 얻을 수 있었다. 함침 조건에 따른 흑색에 대한 평가는 백색 표준물질 의 색상을 기본값으로 하여 측정하고 그 결과를 Fig. 8에 나타내었다. 표준물질의 값이 96의 수치를 나타내었고, 함 침제로서 사용한 graphite의 값은 33으로 확인되었다. 일 반적으로 light의 값이 낮을수록 흑색에 가까운 값은 나타 내게 되는데 대부분의 시험편에서 50~56 정도로서 전반 적으로 약간 밝은 흑색을 나타내고 있었으며, 그 중 1500 C 1C 한국세라믹학회지 The effects f impregnatin temperature n chrmaticity f ZrO specimens. 시험편에서 가장 좋은 흑색도를 나타내었다. 하지만, 함 침온도의 증가에 따라 조금씩 light의 값이 증가하는 것이 관찰되었는데 이는 앞서 미세구조 관찰 결과에서와 같이 결정상의 성장뿐만 아니라 높은 함침온도의 영향에 따른 유리상의 증가에 기인된 것으로 보여지며 이 원인으로 미 세구조에 악영향을 미쳐 물성의 저하의 원인으로 작용되 었다고 판단된다. 또한 함침시험편의 투광성 분석 결과, 모든 조건에서 빛의 투과는 관찰되지 않았다. 함침 유지 시간 변화에 따른 특성 분석 함침 유지시간에 따른 흑색화 변화를 살펴보기 위하여 3..

5 흑연 함침법에 의한 흑색 지르코니아의 제조 및 특성분석 Fig Micrstructure phtgraph f black zircnia by impregnatin methd accrding t change f hlding time. 위의 흑색을 나타내고 있었으며, 모든 시험편에서 투광성 은 보이지 않았다. 4. 결 론 기계적 특성 저하가 적은 흑색 지르코니아를 제조하기 위하여 graphite 원료를 함침제로 하여 함침공정을 수행한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 1. 함침공정에 의하여 1600 C, 시간의 함침조건에서 함 침하였을 때, 꺾임강도 11 MPa, 경도 10.1 GPa, 파괴인 성 10 k, 흡수율 0%, 투광도 Fail, 색도 54 등의 결과를 나타내었으며, 이에 기계적 특성 저하가 적은 흑색 지르 코니아 시편을 제조할 수 있었다.. 함침온도 변화에 따른 밀도의 변화와 흑색도의 차이 는 그다지 관찰되지 않았으나, 기계적 특성의 경우 1600 C 이상 함침온도의 증가에 따라 감소하는 경향이 보였다. 이는 카본 함침공정에 의한 것보다는 높은 함침온도 및 유지시간의 증가에 따른 미세구조의 변화에 기인한 것으 로 판단된다. The effects f impregnate time n vicker's hardness, fracture tughness and flexural strength f ZrO specimens. 꺾임강도 등의 특성평가에서 분석 결과가 가장 우수했던 1600 C로 함침한 조건의 시험편으로서 1시간, 시간, 3시 간로 각각 유지시간의 변화를 주어 그 때의 각 특성 변 화를 확인하고 최적의 함침조건을 찾고자 하였다. 함침 유지시간의 변화에 따른 밀도 변화를 관찰한 결 과, 유지시간에 관계없이 약 99.3~99.5% 정도로 큰 변화 가 없었으며, 흡수율도 0%로 변화가 없었다. Fig. 9의 보 인 미세구조 관찰에서도 유지시간을 증가시킴에 따라 치 밀한 상태는 유지하고 있으나 입자의 성장과 유리상으로 보여지는 영역의 증가가 관찰되어졌다. 경도 측정에서는 Fig. 10에 보인바와 같이 함침 유지 시 간의 변화에 따라 시간 유지한 시편이 10.1 GPa로 증가 하다가 이후 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 이는 미세구조상의 결과를 보아 알 수 있듯이 치밀화와 결정립의 크기 증가 와 유리상의 존재에 기인한 것으로 사료된다. 이러한 미 세구조의 영향에 의해 Fig. 10의 강도와 파괴인성 측정 결 과에서도 경도 측정 결과와 같이 시간까지 강도 11 MPa, 파괴인성치 10으로서 가장 높은 값을 나타낸 후 감소하 는 경향을 나타내는 것으로 판단된다. 유지시간의 변화에 따른 색도변화를 Lab 지수법으로 관 찰한 결과에서도 유지시간에 관계없이 light는 53~55 범 1c Acknwledgment 이 논문은 007년도 정부(과학기술부)의 재원으로 한국 과학재단의 지원을 받아 수행된 연구임.
