Hwever, graphite starts t xidize arund 400 C that seriusly degrades its prperties. SiC cating can be applied t graphite fam t imprve its high temperature xidatin resistance. In this research, SiC cating n graphite fam was made via preceramic plymer using a plyphenylcarbsilane. 0% f plyphenylcarbsilane in hexane slutin was cated nt graphite by dip cating methd. Thermal xidatin was carried ut at 00 C fr crsslink f the preceramic plymer and the sample were pyrlysized at 800 C~ 00 C under nitrgen t cnvert the preceramic plymer t SiC film. The micrstructure f the SiC cating after pyrlysis was investigated using FESEM and xidatin resistance up t 800 C was evaluated. 2 SiC가 코팅된 그라파이트 Fam의 제조 및 특성 분석 63.. Preceramic plymer를 이용한 코팅 실험 Graphite fam은 400 C 부근에서 공기 중에서 산화가 일어나기 때문에 물리적 특성이 감소하는 단점을 가지고 있다. 이를 보완하기 위해 합성된 PPCS를 Cyclhexane에 용해하여 0 w% 코팅용액을 제조하였으며, 이를 dip, cating 방법을 이용하여 코팅하였다. Graphite fam은 Pc Graphite Inc.로부터 구입하였으며(Fig. ) 기공크기 가 약 500~ 600 µm이고 기공율이 90% 이상이며 코팅전 graphite fam을 acetne, ethanl을 사용하여 표면에 있는 불순물을 세척한 후 80 C에 건조를 하였다. 이를 PPCS로 dip 코팅한 후 air gun을 사용하여 기공에 남아 있는 preceramic plymer용액을 제거하고 00 C에 30 min 동안 공기 중에 열경화를 시킨 후 각각 800 C, 000 C, 00 C 에서 열분해하여 SiC로 전환하였다. 결정상 분석에 XRD(MAC Science C., Ltd. MO3 XMF, 일본)를 사용했으며 화학결합의 변화를 분석하기 위해 FT-IR spectrmeter(bi-rad FTS-75C, 미국)와 미 세조직 분석에 SEM(JOEL, JSM-6700F, 일본)을 사용하였 다. Preceramic plymer의 열분해 거동을 관찰하기 위하여 질소 분위기하에서 TGA(NETZSCH, STA-MS-Skimmer, 독일) 분석을 하였다. Fig.. FE-SEM Data f Graphite fam. Fig.. Prcess fr Plyphenylcarbsilane preparatin. mer는 폴리머의 유동 특성, 용해성을 보이며 400 C~600 C 의 낮은 온도에서 비정질의 세라믹으로 전환이 가능하여 보통의 파인세라믹스 소재의 원료로써 사용가능하며 그 형태가 폴리머이므로 폴리머의 우수한 가공특성을 이용 할 수 있는 장점이 있다.. 실 험 3. 결과 및 고찰.. Preceramic plymer 제조... Plymethylphenylsilane(PMPS) 중간체 제조 Dichlrmethylphenylsilnae(DMPS) mnmer와 Na metal 의 탈염소중합 반응으로부터 중간체인 PMPS를 합성하였 다.(Fig. ) 반응기 내부에 존재하는 수분 및 산소를 제거 하기 위하여 고순도의 아르곤이나 질소를 사용하여 상온 에서 반응기 내부를 flushing한다. 톨루엔을 주입하고 금 속 나트륨을 glve bx에서 정량하여 반응기에 넣고 온도 를 가하여 용융하여 미세한 입자로 분산시킨다. 반응기 온도를 일정하게 유지하고 질소 가스를 일정유속으로 주 입하면서 DMPS를 drpping funnel을 통하여 천천히 반응 기에 주입한다. 주입이 끝난 후 0 C, 4시간 동안 반응 후 보라색 참전물이 형성되었다. 반응이 끝난 후 40 C로 냉각된 상태에서 메탄올을 서서히 적하하여 반응하지 않 은 Na를 제거한 후 여과하였다. 증류수로 부산물인 NaCl 을 완전히 씻어낸 후 60 C로 4시간 동안 진공건조를 시 켜 백색분말을 얻었다.... Plyphenylcarbsilane(PPCS) Preceramic plymer 제조 합성한 PMPS를 Kumada rearrangement의 방법을 이용, 열분해하여 PPCS를 합성하였다.(Fig. ) Autclave에 PMPS 를 첨가하고 질소분위기 하에서 반응온도를 350~430 C 범위에서 교반하면서 반응시켰다. 반응생성물은 실온까지 냉각하고, 여기에 cyclhexane을 가하여 용해한 다음 불용 물을 제거하고 여과액을 50~300 C에서 진공증류하여 연 갈색 고체상 생성물인 Plyphenylcarbsilane를 합성하였다. 3.. Plymethylphenylsilane의 제조 및 특성분석 Fig. 3은 Dichlrmethylphenylsilane을 금속나트륨 촉매 를 이용하여 합성한 Plymethylphenylsilane(PMPS)의 구조 를 확인하기 위해 FT-IR spectrum 분석한 결과이다 cm 와 948 cm 에서는 CH 에의 C-H에 의한 신축 진동피크가 나타나고 47 cm 와 754 cm 에서는 Si-CH 의 굽힘진동과 Si-C의 신축진동(stretching vibratin)이 나 타나고 45 cm 와 095 cm 에서 Si-C H 는 신축진동이 나타나는 것으로 보아 Plymethylphenylsilane(PMPS)가 합 Fig. 3. 4 SiC가 코팅된 그라파이트 Fam의 제조 및 특성 분석 Fig FE-SEM data f SiC cated graphite samples that heat treated at (a) 800C, (b) 000C, and (c) 00C. 있는 장점이 있다. 합성된 PPCS를 Cyclhexane에 용해하여 0 wt% 코팅 용액을 제조하였으며, 이를 dip cating 방법을 이용하여 코팅하였다. 코팅 전 graphite fam을 acetne, ethanl을 사용하여 표면에 있는 불순물을 세척한 후 80 C에 건조 를 하였다. 이를 PPCS로 코팅한 후 00 C에 30 min동안 공기 중에 열경화를 시킨 후 각각 800 C, 000 C, 00 C 에서 열분해하여 SiC로 전환하였다. Fig. 7에 열처리 온 도별 FE-SEM사진을 나타내었다. 그림에서 보여지는바와 같이 800 C, 000 C 시료에서는 crack이 많이 나타나지 않았지만 00 C에서 열처리한 시료의 경우는 심한 crack 이 발생하는 것을 볼 수 있다. Fig. 8과 Table 에 SiC cated graphite fam의 성분 분석을 나타내었다. Fig. 8과 Table 에 나타나듯이 코팅층은 일부의 xygen을 함유하 는데 이것은 00 C에서 열경화 과정중에 plyphenylcarbsilane의 일부가 산화되는데 기인한다 SiC cated graphite의 내산화성 특성 Fig. 9에 SiC cated graphite fam을 800 C에서 시간 동안 내산화 테스트 후의 사진을 나타내었다. 그림에서 보는 바와 같이 코팅하지 않은 시료는 공기중에서 800 C 에서 시간 동안 노출된 후에는 대부분의 graphite가 CO 로 산화되어 남은 것이 별로 없으나 SiC cated graphite Fig. 8. Thermal Cnductivities f Varius SiC Cated Graphite Fams Sample Thermal cnductivity (W/mk) Graphite fam 48.4 SiC cated Graphite fam (800C) Graphite fam SiC cated (000C) Table. fam을 800 C에서 시간 동안 내산화 테스트 후의 사진 에서는 코팅전의 형태를 유지하고 있으며 특히 000 C에 서 열처리한 시료의 경우 90% 이상의 residue가 남아 SiC 코팅에 의하여 내산화성이 현저히 증가하는 것을 알 수 있다. 내산화 테스트 후 미세구조를 FESEM으로 관찰하 여 본 결과 Fig. 0에서 보여 지는 바와 같이 코팅하지 않 은 Graphite fam은 산화가 많이 진행되어 표면이 손실된 것을 볼 수 있으나 SiC cated graphite fam을 800 C에서 시간 동안 내산화 테스트 후의 FESEM 결과는 SiC층의 표면에 SiO prtective layer가 형성되어 표면의 손상이 없 음을 확인하였다. Table 에 SiC cated graphite fam의 열전도도를 나타내 었다. SiC 코팅한 후에도 열전도도는 50 W/mk 이상을 유 지하고 있어 heat sink material로 우수한 재료임을 알 수 있다. 따라서 SiC cated graphite fam은 600 C 이상의 고 온에서도 heat sink로 사용이 가능한 재료임을 알 수 있다. 4. 결 론 한국세라믹학회지 Acknwlengement 이 논문은 007년 에너지관리공단의 에너지자원기술개 발 사업(Preceramic plymer를 이용한 경량 고효율 방열판 소재개발) 사업에 의하여 지원 되었으며, 이에 감사드립니다. Mater., 08- (005) 본 연구에서는 세라믹 전구체인 0% plyphenylcarbsilane 용액을 사용하여 dip cating 방법으로 graphite fam에 SiC 코팅 연구를 하였다. Dip cating 후 00 C, 공기중에서 열산화 후, 800 C~00 C로 열처리하여 SiC 로 전환시켰다. 열처리 후 시료를 FESEM을 사용하여 미 세구조를 관찰한 결과 800 C~000 C에서 열처리한 시료 의 경우, 공기중에서 800 C에서 시간 동안 유지시켰을 때 90 wt% 이상을 유지하였으며 SiC 코팅한 후에도 열전 도도는 50 W/mk 이상을 유지하고 있어 heat sink material로 우수한 재료임을 알 수 있다. 따라서 SiC cated graphite fam은 600 C 이상의 고온에서도 heat sink로 사 용이 가능한 재료임을 알 수 있다
