1 Center for International Exchange Hanbat National University Exchange Student Program PROGRAM OBJECTIVE The objective of the exchange student program for students from our partner universities is to provide international exchange students with the opportunity to acquire the experience of living and studying in our campus. It aims at promoting international exchanges in education and mutual friendship between the universities. QUALIFICATIONS Prospective applicant must meet the following qualification criteria: 1. Must be a student of HBNU s partner university. 2. Have an adequate health, both physically and mentally. 3. Possess above 80% (out of 100%) in a grade point average (G.P.A) of the whole school years. 4. You have the academic background related to the course you are applying for. DURATION OF STAY Students may choose to enroll for one semester or one year of the study program under the agreement between two universities. ACADEMIC CALEDAR Semester 1 The first week of March until Mid June Semester 2 The last week of August until Mid December SUBMISSION OF REQUIRED DOCUMENTS Applications from exchange students must be approved by and submitted through the international office of one of HBNU s partner universities. 1. Two Photos (3.5x4.5cm) APPLICATION PROCEDURES Selection Procedures Period Hanbat National University (hereafter; HBNU) will announce our selection plan Mid April, 2010/ Mid October, 2010 HBNU will take applications ~June 30, 2010/ ~December 31, 2010 HBNU will issue the Certificate of The first week of Admission and send it to students by courier July, 2010/ The first week of January, 2011 Students will enter Korea August 27~28, 2010/ February 27~28, 2011 International Students Orientation day August 27, 2010/ March 2, 2011 Students will begin to take a course at HBNU August 30, 2010/ March 3, 2011 Application Procedures Check HBNU s plan Application deadline, selection procedures Submit the application documents Enter Korea Begin to take a course at HBNU ACCOMODATION HBNU offers on-campus housing with double-sharing rooms, on-site laundry, free internet access, fitness center and cafeteria for exchange students. Two students will be placed in one room and have his/her own bed, space to study. Three meals for seven days a week are provided to all the dormitory residents during their study. 2

3 ESTIMATED FEES Exchange students will get a tuition fee waiver. Other expenses such as airfare, accommodation, administrative fees and visa charge are self-funded. Korean Language Program Intensive Korean 6 credits (Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced) Speaking and Listening 3 credits (Intermediate/Advanced) Reading and Writing 3 credits (Intermediate/Advanced) Grammar 3 credits OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS 1. Entry 1.
