5 Introduction This publication provides installation instructions for the OE MAX CSDM Power Rail. Use these instructions for mounting your power rail to the panel. The power rail provides power and control signals from the IAM (converter section) to adjacent AM (inverters). The Integrated Axis Module (IAM), Axis Module(s) (AM), Shunt Module (SM), and Slot Filler Module(s) mount to the power rail. For further CSDM installation instructions, refer to the CSDM Multi-Axis Servo Drive Installation Instructions (publication CSDM-IN001x-EN-P). 7 Mounting Your Power Rail These procedures assume you have prepared your panel and understand how to bond your system. For installation instructions regarding equipment and accessories not included here, refer to the instructions that came with those items. The CSDM power rail comes in lengths to support 1 integrated axis module and additional axis or shunt modules. To mount your CSDM power rail: Layout the position for your power rail in the enclosure. Refer to the CSDM Multi-Axis Servo Drive User Manual (publication CSDM-UM001x-EN-P) for panel layout recommendations. 1. Attach the power rail to the cabinet. The recommended mounting hardware is M4 metric bolts. IMPORTANT To improve the bond between the power rail and subpanel, construct your subpanel out of zinc plated (paint-free) steel. 2. Tighten all mounting fasteners. 3. Attach braided grounding strap from right side grounding stud to bonded cabinet ground, as shown below.
