For making comfortable subway environment, cooling system and screen door(psd) were installed ever since Seoulmetro began to operate its first line, many new facilities were added and now Seoulmetro has both old and new facilities. Due to many mixed new and old facilities, leakage current has very complicated paths. The leakage current from the operation of the train causes the electrical corrosion of buried pipes and rail tracks. This study discusses about the characteristics and trends of the electrical corrosion on rail tracks and preventive methods.
