1 한국산학기술학회논문지 Vol. 11, No. 1, pp , 2 채규수 1* 1 백석대학교정보통신학부 Design of an X-band patch array antenna for an energy saving system Gyoo-Soo Chae 1* 1 Division of Information Communication Eng., Baekseok University 요약본논문에서는절전센서용 GHz 대역마이크로스트립구형패치배열안테나의설계방법을제안하였다. 안테나는송신안테나 1x2배열, 수신안테나 1x2배열로각각구성하였다. 안테나는 CST MWS를사용하여시뮬레이션하였고 FR-4 기판 (h=1.mm, εr=4.4) 을사용하여제작하였다. 시뮬레이션에서대역폭은 4%(VSWR 2), 이득은 6.3dBi, 빔폭은약 6o(El)/15o(Az) 로예측되었다. 시뮬레이션결과를이용하여안테나가제작되었고안테나는절전센서용 RF 송수신기회로뒷면에설치되어측정되었다. 측정된안테나의대역폭은 7%(VSWR 2), 이득은 4.8dBi, 빔폭은약 55o(El)/15o(Az) 로예상과유사한결과를얻었다. Abstract This paper introduces an X-band microstrip patch array antenna that can be suitable for an energy saving system. The presented patch antenna comprises with 2-element linear array. The antenna is simulated using CST MWS and manufactured using FR-4(h=1.mm, εr=4.4). The estimated bandwidth, gain and beamwidth are 4%(VSWR 2), 6.3dBi and about 6o in elevation and 15o in azimuth, respectively. The antenna is fabricated and optimized based on the simulation result and installed on the backside of the sensor circuit and measured. The measured bandwidth, gain and beamwidth are 7%(VSWR 2), 4.8dBi and about 55o(El)/15o(Az), respectively. Key Words : Array antenna, Patch antenna, Energy saving system, RF motion sensor, X-band 1. 서론 최근전세계적인지구온난화와환경문제가인류의공동해결과제로급부상하고있다. 최근에는기후변화에대응하기위한국제적인공조노력들이관련국제기구를중심으로활발하게진행되고있다. 우리나라를포함한선진국들이이러한기후변화와에너지문제를정보통신기술을활용해서해결하기위해다각적인노력을하고있다. 특히우리나라에서는 ' 그린IT' 에대한관심이높아지고있는것이현실이다. 정부도최근 저탄소녹색성장 을미래비전으로제시하면서대대적인홍보와투자를계획하고있다 [1]. 이러한녹색성장정책들은우리나라뿐아니라주요선진국들의공통관심사이다. 산업혁명이후 급속한경제성장으로화석연료의고갈이현실적인문제로인식되고이를해결하기위한공동노력들이녹색성장이라는새로운패러다임으로나타나고있다. 녹색성장은크게현존하는에너지를효율적으로사용하는노력과새로운에너지원을찾는두부분으로구분할수있다. 새로운에너지원을찾는것은중장기적인연구개발이필요하지만기존제품을에너지절감형으로대체하는기술은단기적인결과를얻을수있고우리나라가선점하면효과적인투자가될것으로생각된다 [2]. 국가적인에너지절감노력과소비행태의변화로약 % 정도의절감효과를나타내는것이 EU의 25년보고서에서증명되었다 [3]. 앞에서도언급한것같이그린IT는 IT 분야에서사용되는절대적인에너지를줄이는것과 IT기술을활용 * 교신저자 : 채규수 (gschae@bu.ac.kr) 접수일 9년 12월 4일수정일 년 1월 15일게재확정일 년 1월 2일 125

2 한국산학기술학회논문지제 11 권제 1 호, 2 하여에너지의효율성을증대시키는방법이있다. 본논문에서는이러한세계적인에너지절감에대한관심에부응하기위해정부에서권장하고있는에너지절감용시스템구축에사용되는실내전등의효율적인관리장치에사용되는센서에적용되는 X-밴드 (GHz) 용패치안테나를설계하고자한다. 현재사용되는절전센서는적외선검출방식을사용하고있다. 적외선방식은검출방식과가격면에서많은장점을가지고있으나장애물을통과하지못하는한계때문에여러가지문제를가지고있다. 이러한단점을극복하기위해고주파방식을사용하는절전센서개발이이루어졌으나국내에서는자체제작된제품이출시되지않고있다. 절전센서를만들기위해서먼저레이더기술이적용된고주파송수신기제작이이루어져야하고송수신기에필수적으로장착되는안테나의개발이필요한실정이다. 절전용시스템에사용되는패치안테나가소개되었고상용제품들이출시되고있지만국내에서는아직제작되지않고있다. 본논문에서 X-밴드용패치어레이안테나를설계하고자하는이유는현재해외에서출시된일부안테나를분석한결과기본적인어레이안테나설계의이론 ( 안테나배치간격, 빔폭등 ) 이무시되고특성이검증되지않은안테나가대부분이었다. 그래서본논문에서 X-밴드용고주파송수신에적용가능한패치어레이안테나를어레이안테나이론을적용하여설계하였고시뮬레이션을통해얻어진파라미터를바탕으로안테나를제작하고측정하였다. 2. 안테나설계및측정 고주파센서에사용될수있는구형마이크로스트립어레이안테나의설계방법은다양하게소개되었다 [4-7]. 그리고절전용시스템에사용되는패치안테나가소개되었고이미상용제품에적용되어출시되었다. 그러나앞에서언급한것같이기본적인어레이이론이적용되지않은안테나들이대부분이라전체송수신기개발의국산화와더불어안테나를새롭게설계할필요성이제기되었다. 안테나를설계하기전에절전센서의구조를알아볼필요가있다. 그림 1에서절전센서시스템의구성도가나타나있다. 송수신기회로의구성과안테나배치는본논문에서는소개되지않았다. 기본적인동작구조는송수신부가따로동작하도록설계되는것이다. 이에따라안테나디자인시송수신안테나의특성과배치가결정된다. 본논문에서는절전센서시스템의 RF 송 수신안테나를 1x2배열안테나로설계하고자한다. 안테나는그림 2에서와같이일반적인어레이안테나구조로설계되었다. 패치의크기는일반적인구형패치설계방법에따라설계하였으며급전은급전라인방식으로설계하였다 [6-8]. 표 1에서는제안된안테나의설계사양이나타나있다. 중심주파수가 이고선형편파이며, 안테나이득이 4dBi이상인평면패치안테나이다. 그림 2는안테나의모양과사용된치수들보여주고있으며안테나구조에서급전라인을.2mm로정했는데, 제안된구형안테나의입력임피던스와제작상의치수한계를고려하여.2mm(1Ω) 로결정하였다. 실제상용으로판매된몇가지안테나의설계에서는안테나의입력임피던스를고려하지않고급전라인을설계한경우가대부분이었다. 표 2에서안테나의급전라인의폭에따른임피던스특성이나타나있다. 안테나의입력임피던스와급전라인의임피던스를고려하여급전라인을.2mm(125Ω) 로결정하였다. [ 그림 1] 절전센서시스템의구성도본논문에서제안하는안테나는구형패치안테나의설계방법은일반적인방법을사용하였으나급전라인설계에서는안테나특성을보다효과적으로설계하였다. 배열안테나의방사특성을고려하여안테나간의이격거리는중심주파수 (@) 의반파장길이 (~17mm) 로정하였다. CST MWS를사용하여시뮬레이션한반사손실특성이그림 3에나타나있다. 안테나의이격거리가정확히중심주파수의반파장 (~15mm) 길이보다약간길게조정하여특성을최대로설계하였으며대역폭은약 4%(VSWR 2) 정도로예상되었다. 그리고 2차원, 3차원시뮬레이션방사패턴이그림 4에나타나있다. 안테나이득은약 6.3dBi 정도이고빔폭은수직면 (y-z) 에서약 6o 이고수평면 (x-z) 에서 15o로안테나의목표사양을만족하는것을볼수있다. 시뮬레이션결과에따라실제절전센서회로기판 (FR-4) 뒷면에안테나가제작되었고제작된안테나의모양이그림 5에나타나있다. 126

[ 그림 6] 안테나반사손실측정결과 그림 6에서는제작된안테나의반사손실측정결과가나타나있다. 안테나의중심주파수가.5GHz 정도로원래설계한중심주파수보다약간높은주파수로설계되었다. 대역폭은충분히확보되고있음을알수있다. 중심주파수는추후더정밀하게튜닝할필요가있고안테나에플라스틱커버를씌우는것을고려하면제시된특성이적절할것으로예상된다 GHz.5GHz 3. 결론 본논문에서는절전시스템용 X-밴드대역마이크로스트립구형패치배열안테나의설계방법을제안하였다. 안테나구성은송수신안테나가각각 1x2배열로구성되었으며, 안테나의이득은 4dBi이상이며대역폭은약 7%(VSWR 2) 로설계되었다. 그리고안테나의급전라인을기존에제시된안테나보다효율적인방법으로설계하여이득과대역폭을충분히확보하였다. 제안된안테나는 1x2배열이지만향후더세밀한탐지센서에사용되기위해서는더많은수의배열을사용한안테나가설계되어야한다 참고문헌 (a) [1] 윤원정, 국내외그린 IT 정책동향, 정보통신산업진흥원주간기술동향, 1394호, pp , 29.
