1 韓國電磁波學會論文誌第 19 卷第 8 號 2008 年 8 月論文 A Dual-Sprial Line Loaded Monopole Antenna having a Vertical Groundplane for Quadband Applications 김병철 Truong Khang Nguyen 추호성 * 박익모 Byoungchul Kim Truong Khang Nguyen Hosung Choo* Ikmo Park 요약 본논문에서는수직접지면을가지는 4중대역용이중스파이럴라인로디드모노폴안테나를제안한다. 안테나의크기는 mm 3 이고, 접지면의크기는 mm 2 이다. 측정된안테나의대역폭은 VSWR 2를기준으로첫번째대역과두번째대역에서각각 11.7 % 와 24.8 % 이며, Cellular(0.824~0.894 GHz), PCS(1.750~ GHz), UMTS(1.920~2.170 GHz) 그리고 IMT-2000(1.885~2.200 GHz) 대역을동시에수용한다. 측정된안테나의최대이득은 Cellular, PCS, UMTS, IMT-2000 대역의중심주파수에서 dbi, 4.07 dbi, 2.72 dbi와 4.33 dbi이다. Abstract In this paper, we propose a dual-spiral line loaded monopole antenna having a vertical ground plane for quadband applications. The antenna occupies a volume of mm 3 with a mm 2 ground plane. The measured impedance bandwidths of the antenna based on VSWR 2 are approximately of 11.7 % and 24.8 % in the first and second frequency band, respectively. The operating frequency can simultaneously cover Cellular(0.824~0.894 GHz), PCS(1.750 ~1.870 MHz), UMTS(1.920~2.170 MHz), and IMT-2000(1.885~2.200 GHz) bands. The maximum gains of the antenna are dbi, 4.07 dbi, 2.72 dbi, and 4.33 dbi at the center frequencies of the Cellular, PCS, UMTS, and IMT-2000 bands, respectively. Good radiation patterns are experimentally obtained. Key words : Small Antennas, Multiband Antennas, Monopole Antenna, Electromagnetic Coupling, Dual Frequency Operation Ⅰ. 서론시장경제체제의급속한세계화로인하여모바일사용자들은다양한통신기능을가진소형이동통신기기를선호하고있다. 다양한기능의추가는많은양의정보의송수신을위한광대역특성이필수적이다. 또한, 소형단말기에대한소비자들의욕 구증대는무선통신에있어서소형안테나개발을촉진시켜왔다. 그러나다중대역안테나는일반적으로두개이상의복사소자가필요하고, 결국안테나의크기를증가시킨다. 따라서다중대역에서의동작을위하여효율의손실이없이광대역특성을유지하면서복사구조의최소화를위한많은연구가진행되고있다. 최근평면상에인쇄된안테나는경 아주대학교전자공학부 (School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Ajou University) * 홍익대학교전자전기공학부 (School of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Hongik University) 논문번호 : S 수정완료일자 : 2008 년 7 월 24 일 899
2 韓國電磁波學會論文誌第 19 卷第 8 號 2008 年 8 月 량화와비용절감등으로많은각광을받고있다 [1]~ [5]. 그러나이러한안테나들은좁은대역폭으로인하 여특정무선통신시스템영역에서다양한멀티미디어대역들을동시에수용하기에는적합하지않다. 뿐만아니라평면상에인쇄된안테나는이득과임피던스특성의균형을맞추어야하므로높은이득을위한안테나에는제약을받는다. 본논문에서는안테나가소형이면서도다중대역에서동작하기위한기법을적용시킨 4중대역안테나를제안하였다. 제안한안테나는스파이럴형태를이용하여안테나의전기적길이를증가시킴으로써안테나전체크기를감소시켰다 [6]. 또한, 매우근접하게위치하는두개의복사체를전자기적으로상호결합하여소형안테나의대역폭을크게개선하였고 [7], 접지면에 open-ended 슬릿을삽입하여안테나의 (a) 입체도 (a) 3-dimensional view 높은쪽공진대역에서의복사특성을향상시켰다 [8], [9]. 그리고휴대를용이하게하기위하여수직접지 면을사용하였고, 두스파이럴스트립라인을적층구조로배치하였다. 제안된안테나는이중대역에서동작하며각각의대역에서두개의공진을발생시키고, 모노폴안테나와유사한복사특성을가진다. 전산모의실험결과, 동작대역은 VSWR 2 기준으로 0.775~0.913 GHz와 1.744~2.247 GHz로각각 138 MHz와 503 MHz이며, 측정된동작대역은 0.798~ GHz와 1.748~2.245 GHz로각각 99 MHz와 497 MHz의대역폭을가진다. (b) 측면도 (b) Side view Ⅱ. 안테나구조그림 1에제안한안테나구조를나타내었다. 안테나는유사한형태를가진두개의스파이럴스트립라인으로구성되며, 비유전율이 3.38이고두께가 mm인 RO4003 기판에제작하였다. 두스파이럴스트립라인은안테나의크기와외관을고려하여적층구조로배치하였다. 상부사각스파이럴스트립라인은기생소자로서접지면에단락핀으로연결되어있다. 하부사각스파이럴라인은안테나의주요복사소자로써접지면에프로브핀을통하여 50 Ω 마이크로스트립라인으로연결되어있다. 지름이 1.0 mm인단락핀과프로브핀사이간격은 d 이다. 두 open-ended 두개의슬릿은접지면의위쪽 (c) 상부스파이럴정면도 (c) Top view of the upper spiral (d) 하부스파이럴정면도 (d) Top view of the lower spiral 그림 1. 안테나구조 Fig. 1. 3 고, mm 2 의접지면에설계하였으며, 접지면의기판은비유전율이 3.38이고두께가 mm이다. 각대역에서의임피던스정합을위하여상부스파이럴과하부스파이럴의폭, 길이, 높이, 그리고슬릿의폭과길이를조절하여최적조건의안테나설계파라미터를얻어내었다. Ⅲ. 안테나특성 안테나의크기를줄이는가장좋은방법은도체의전류경로를최대화하는것이다. 그러므로사각스파이럴구조는이러한특성을구현할수있는가장좋은방법이다. 그중에서도이중스파이럴스트립라인로디드모노폴안테나는이중공진으로인하여광대역특성을가진다 [6]. 제안한안테나는휴대폰에적용하기위하여소형이면서여러대역을수용할수있게설계하였다. 안테나설계를위한시뮬레이션은 CST사의전자기파상용시뮬레이터인 MWS (Microwave Studio) 를사용하였다. 그림 2는하부사각스파이럴스트립라인의길이 L의변화에따른반사손실특성이다. 길이를 93.8 mm에서 95.8 mm, 97.8 mm로증가시키면첫번째대역의높은쪽공진주파수가 0.9 GHz에서 0.87 GHz, 0.84 GHz로, 두번째대역의높은쪽공진주파수가 2.1 GHz에서 2.07 GHz, 2.04 GHz로각각감소한다. 그러나첫번째대역의낮은쪽공진주파수와두번째대역의낮은쪽공진주파수는 0.79 GHz와 1.78 GHz 근처에서거의 그림 2. 하부스파이럴라인의길이변화에따른반사손실 Fig. 2. Variation of return loss with respect to the gap of upper spiral line. 변화가없다. 그러므로하부사각스파이럴스트립라인의길이는첫번째와두번째대역에서높은쪽공진주파수를결정함을알수있다. 그림 3은상부사각스파이럴스트립라인의간격 g의변화에따른반사손실특성이다. 간격을 1.0 mm에서 1.2 mm, 1.4 mm로증가시키면, 단락핀을포함한상부사각스파이럴스트립라인의전체길이가감소된다. 그림에서보는바와같이첫번째대역의낮은쪽공진주파수는 0.77 GHz에서 0.79 GHz, 0.8 GHz로증가하고, 두번째대역의낮은쪽공진주파수는 1.74 GHz에서 1.78 GHz, 1.83 GHz로각각증가한다. 반면에첫번째대역과두번째대역의높은쪽공진주파수는각각 0.87 GHz와 2.07 GHz에서거의변화가없다. 그러므로상부사각스파이럴스트립라인의길이는첫번째와두번째대역에서낮은쪽공진주파수를결정함을알수있다. 그림 4는단락핀의지름변화에따른반사손실변화이다. 단락핀의지름이 0.5 mm에서 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm로증가시키면첫번째대역에서의낮은쪽공진주파수가 0.76 GHz에서 0.79 GHz, 0.83 GHz로증가하고, 두번째대역에서의낮은쪽공진주파수는 1.74 GHz에서 1.78 GHz, 1.83 GHz로각각증가한다. 반면첫번째대역에서의높은쪽공진주파수와두번째대역에서의높은쪽공진주파수는거의변화가없었다. 단락핀의지름이늘어남에따라단락핀의인덕턴스가줄어듦으로, 공진주파수는증가하였 901

Variation of return loss with respect to the diameter of shorting pin. 다. 위결과로부터, 상부의사각스파이럴은각대역에서낮은쪽공진주파수를결정한다는것을알수있다. 그림 5는슬릿의길이 l s 의변화에따른반사손실변화이다. 길이를 3 mm에서 6 mm, 9 mm로증가시키면두번째대역의낮은쪽공진주파수가 1.82 GHz에서 1.78 GHz, 1.73 GHz로크게감소하고첫번째대역에서의낮은쪽공진주파수는조금감소하였다. 반면, 첫번째대역과두번째대역의높은쪽공진주파수는거의변화가없었다. 이러한결과로부터상부사각스파이럴과접지면의슬릿은첫번째대역과두번째대역의낮은쪽공진주파수를결정함을알수있다. 특히슬릿은두번째공진주파수대역의낮은쪽공진주파수에큰영향을준다. 표 1에는하부사각스파이럴스트립라인의길이 L, 상부사각스파이럴스트립라인의간격 g, 단락핀의지름, 슬릿의길이변화에따른반사손실을요약하였다. 그림 5. 슬릿길이변화에따른반사손실 Fig. 5. Return loss of the optimized antenna. 와제작하여측정한안테나의반사손실특성을나타내었다. 계산된안테나의반사손실은낮은쪽중심주파수 GHz에서 0.775~0.913 GHz의대역폭을, 높은쪽중심주파수 GHz에서 1.744~ GHz의대역폭을가지며, 측정된반사손실은낮은쪽중심주파수 GHz에서 0.798~0.897 GHz와높은쪽중심주파수인 GHz에서 ~2.245 GHz의대역폭을가진다. 측정결과, 낮은쪽주파수에서의대역폭이시뮬레이션결과보다작은이유는상부및하부사각스파이럴의정렬문제로보인다. 표 2에는전산모의실험결과와측정한안테나의반사손실특성을요약하였다. 그림 8은 Cellular, PCS, UMTS와 IMT-2000 대역의중심주파수에서시뮬레이션및측정한복사패턴을보여준다. 시뮬레이션결과안테나는모노폴형태의복사패턴을가진다. 표 3은전산모의실험결과및측정한안테나의최대이득을요약하였다. 표 2. 최적화된안테나의반사손실 Table 2.
