Vol. 19, No. 2 : 265~271 Feb WBAN 용이중대역미엔더마이크로스트립안테나설계 오호권 * Design of Dualband Meander Microstrip Antenna for WBAN Ho-Kweon Oh * Department of Electronic Engineering, Kangwon University, Chuncheon-si, Gangwon-do , Korea 요약 본논문에서는 WBAN 통신을위한이중대역미엔더마이크로스트립안테나를제안하였다. 설계된안테나는인체의모형과기판사이에일정한간격을유지하여장착하고성능개선을위해몇가지중요한파라미터변화에따른특성변화를연구하였다. 안테나의반사손실, 방사패턴, 이득과대역폭의특성을컴퓨터시뮬레이션소프트웨어 (CST) 를이용하여분석하였다. 제안된안테나는 UWB 의 4.33GHz 와 6.09GHz ~ 9.88GHz 의대역에서동작한다. 안테나는 4.33GHz 에서반사손실과 -10dB 대역폭은각각 dB, 410MHz 이며, 6.09GHz ~ 9.88GHz 대역에서는최대 dB, 3.79GHz 를나타냈다. ABSTRACT In this paper, Dualband meander microstrip antenna is proposed for Wireless Body Area Network application. Designed antenna is mounted on the phantom to maintain a constant distance of the substrate, and studied the characteristics related to change in several meaningful parameters to improve performance. Characteristics of antenna, returnloss, radiation pattern, gain, bandwidth, are analyzed using Computer Simulation Technologes(CST) software. The proposed antenna operates at 4.33Ghz and 6.09GHz ~ 9.88GHz for UWB. Vol. 19, No. 2 : 265~271 Feb Ⅰ. 서론최근헬스케어센서네트워크시스템 [1] 의발전과함께 WBAN 시스템에대한연구가활발하게이루어지고있으며, 다양한헬스케어디바이스를인체에이식하거나혹은인체에착용하여사용하고있다 [2]. 특히, 인체에부착하여사용하는 WBAN시스템에서안테나는통신채널의성능에매우중요한영향을미치는요소이다 [3]. WBAN에서사용되는안테나는미엔더 [4] 형, 선로와동일면상의접지면을배치하는 CPW (Coplanar Waveguide)[5] 형, 지향성과이득을향상시키기위한어레이안테나 [6], 링타입안테나 [7], 그리고동일구조를반복하여기하학적형태로제작한프렉털 (fractal) 구조의안테나 [8] 등다양한형태의안테나를활용하고있다. 또한, BAN에서사용하는 UWB통신은고속대용량통신뿐만아니라조난자의위치파악, 물류관리, 장애물및차량접근감지센서등의다양한분야에걸쳐활용되고있으며, 우리나라는대한민국주파수분배표고시에의거 3.1~4.8GHz, 7.2~10.2GHz대역을분배하여사용되고있다. 본논문에서는 IEEE 표준 [9] 중 UWB 대역을활용한 WBAN용웨어러블기기에서사용하기위한안테나로서 4.3GHz의레이더와 UWB의상위대역인 6.3GHz ~ 10.2GHZ 대역중 6.1GHz ~ 9.8GHz의미엔더마이크로스트립안테나를설계하고주요파라미터를최적화하여우수한특성을갖는안테나를제안하였다. 그림 1과같이 4.27GHz, 9.16GHz 공진주파수를갖는플래너구조의미엔더형안테나를설계하고, 그림 2 와같이미엔더안테나를신체모형의팬텀위에약 5mm 의간격을유지하고시뮬레이션하였다. 그림 2. 실험에사용된인체의펜텀모델 Fig. 2 Phantom model of the human body used in the experiment 표 1. 7GHz 에서인체조직의유전특성 [5] Table. 1 Dielectric property of body tissue in 7GHz[5] Layer Relative permitivity Conductivity [s/m] loss tangent 피부 지방 근육 Ⅱ. 안테나의구조와설계 본논문에서제안된미엔더형마이크로스트립안테나는기판의두께가 1.6mm, 유전율 4.3, 손실탄젠트 0.025인 FR-4 기판위에설계하였다. 3 WBAN 용이중대역미엔더마이크로스트립안테나설계 2.1. 패치라인사이의간격 (A2, B2) 변화와특성변화 는 6.09GHz ~ 9.89GHz 주파수범위로약 3.80GHz의대역폭그리고반사손실은 dB를나타냈다 C2 의폭변화에따른특성변화 그림 4. 패치라인사이의간격 A2, B2 변화와특성변화 Fig. 4 Characteristics for the distance variation of the patch line blank, A2, B2 그림 4는 A2와 B2의폭의변화를 1mm~6mm로변화시켜특성변화다. 하위주파수의 3.90GHz ~ 4.53GHz 범위에서공진주파수는각각 4.33~4.16GHz까지의변화를나타냈으며, A2와 B2의폭이넓을수록공진주파수는다소낮아지는결과로나타났다. 반사손실은각각 -42dB ~ -26dB의변화를나타냈으며, 상위주파수인 5.92GHz ~ 9.89GHz에서는반사손실값이 dB ~ dB로나타났으며 -10dB 대역폭은 3.90GHz ~ 4.53GHz 주파수대역에서는 400Mhz ~ 498MHz, 상위 5.89GHz ~ 9.89GHz 주파수범위에서는 3.63GHz ~ 3.92GHz까지의대역폭변화를나타냈다 C1의폭변화에따른특성변화 그림 6. C2 의폭변화와특성변화 Fig. 6 Characteristic for the variable C2 width 그림 6은 C2의폭을각각 2mm ~ 7mm까지 1mm 단위로변화시킬때특성변화를나타낸것으로, 하위주파수대역에서공진주파수는변화가없으나, 반사손실은 dB ~ dB로약간의변화를나타냈다. 상위주파수대역에서도대역폭의변화보다는일부주파수에서반사손실의변화만나타났다. 따라서 C2의변화는특성변화에큰영향을미치지않는것으로나타났으나최적의폭을선택하기위해 6mm로선택하였다 L3 길이변화와특성변화 그림 5. C1 폭변화와특성변화 Fig. 5 Characteristic for the variable C1 width 그림 5는그림3 에서 A5의좌측면과 B5의우측면을고정하고 C1의폭을 2mm~11mm변화시킬때의특성변화를나타냈다. 하위주파수대역에서공진주파수의변화는 4.30GHz ~ 4.35GHz로미세한변화를나타냈으나, 반사손실은 dB ~ dB로나타났으며, 상위주파수인 5.78GHz ~ 9.91GHz 주파수에서반사손실은 dB ~ dB로나타났다. 반사손실과대역폭을고려하여폭을 10mm로선택하여낮은주파수대역에서공진주파수는 4.33GHz, 반사손실은 dB, -10dB 대역폭은 440MHz로나타냤다. 상위주파수에서 그림 7. L3 의크기와특성변화 Fig. 7 Characteristic for the variable L3 length 그림7은 L3를 2mm ~ 7mm로각 1mm 간격으로변화시킬때특성변화를나타낸것으로, 하위주파수대역에서공진주파수의변화는 4.33GHz ~ 4.39GHz 범위로큰변화가없으나반사손실은각각 dB ~ dB로길이가작을수록반사손실특성이좋은것으로나타났다. 또한상위주파수에서도대역폭에는큰변화가없으며반사손실만약간의차이를보였다. 따라서특정주파수에서의입력반사손실이좋은특성보다는상위주파수 6.09GHz ~ 9.89GHz 대역에서특성이우수한 2mm를선택하였다. 267

E1, E2 간격변화에따른특성변화 Fig. 8 Characteristic for the variable E1,E2 Interval -42.3dB로나타났다. 상위주파수에서는 5.68GHz ~ 10.22GHz에서 4.05GHz ~ 3.10GHz까지대역폭변화를나타냈으며, 반사손실은최대 dB 로나타났다. L5가 8.5mm 일때 -10dB 주파수대역은 6.10GHz ~ 9.92GHz범위로, 대역폭 3.1GHz 반사손실은최대 -29dB로우수한특성을나타냈다 미엔더안테나길이 (D1) 의변화에따른특성변화 그림8은피드라인과좌우의접지면의간격인 E1, E2 를 0.32mm ~ 1.12mm로변화시킬때특성변화다. 하위주파수는 4.11GHz ~ 4.65GHz 범위에서공진주파수는각각 4.33GHz, 4.40GHz, 4.46GHz, 4.88GHz, 4.51GHz 로나타났으며, 10dB 대역폭은 424MHz ~ 314MHz 의대역폭변화를나타냈다. 간격이넓어질수록공진주파수는최대 180MHz 까지공진점변화가나타났으며, 반사손실은 dB ~ dB까지변화하였으며, 대역폭은좁아지는결과를나타냈다. 상위주파수에서는 6.07GHz ~ 10.12GHz에서 3.81GHz ~ 3.07GHz까지대역폭변화를나타냈으며반사손실변화는 dB ~ dB로나타났다. 따라서모든주파수에서특성이가장우수한간격은길이를 0.32mm로선택하였다. 그림 8 에서는피드라인과접지면의간격변화에따른반사손실과주파수특성변화를나타낸다 접지면의길이 (L5) 변화와특성변화 그림 10. D1 변화에따른특성변화 Fig. 10 Characteristic for the variable D1 Iength 그림10은미엔더안테나의선두께 D1을 1mm ~ 6mm 까지 1mm 간격으로변화시킬때특성변화다. 하위 4.08GHz ~ 4.51GHz 범위에서공진주파수는각각 4.33 GHz, 4.28GHz, 4.27GHz, 4.26GHz, 4.26GHz, 4.27GHz로나타났으며 -10dB 대역폭은 408MHz ~ 451MHz의대역폭변화를나타냈다. 길이변화에따른공진주파수변화폭은 43MHz로작은범위의변화를나나냈으며, 반사손실변화는 dB ~ dB로나타났다. 상위 6.07GHz ~ 9.92GHz 주파수에서는대역폭이 3.85GHz이며, -10dB 대역의반사손실값이최대 dB의양호한특성을나타내는선두께는 1mm로나타났다 미엔더안테나길이 (D2) 의변화에따른특성변화 그림 9. L5 의길이와특성변화 Fig. 9 Characteristic for the variable L5 Iength 그림 9는접지면의길이 L5를 7mm ~ 9mm 까지 0.5mm 간격으로변화시킬때특성변화를나타냈다. 하위주파수 3.90GHz ~ 4.49GHz범위에서공진주파수는각각 4.17GHz, 4.24GHz, 4.30GHz, 4.33GHz, 4.32GHz 로나타났으며 10dB 대역폭은 549MHz ~ 450MHz의대역폭변화를나타냈다. 길이변화에따른공진주파수는 160MHz의변화를나타냈으며, 반사손실은 -22dB ~ 그림 11. D2 길이변화에따른특성변화 Fig. 11 Characteristic for the variable D2 Iength 그림 11은미엔더안테나의선두께 D2을 1mm ~ 6mm 까지 1mm 간격으로변화시킬때특성변화를나타냈다. 하위 4.06GHz ~ 6.70GHz 범위에서공진주파수는각각 4.33GHz, 4.68GHz, 5.02GHz, 5.34GHz, 268

5 WBAN 용이중대역미엔더마이크로스트립안테나설계 5.60GHz, 5.80GHz로나타났으며 10dB 대역폭은 408MHz ~ 451MHz의대역폭변화를나타냈다. 폭변화에따른공진주파수변화폭은 1.47GHz로공진주파수변화에크게영향을미치는것으로나타났으며, 반사손실변화는 dB ~ dB로나타났으며, 상위 6.13GHz ~ 10.22GHz 주파수에서는대역폭이 3.80GHz 이며, 반사손실값이최대 dB의양호한특성을나타내는선두께는 3mm로나타났다. 특성임피던스를나타내고있다. (a) Ⅲ. 안테나의성능평가 시뮬레이션결과로부터최적화된미엔더안테나의주요특성에대한성능을평가분석하기위하여주파수공진주파수와반사손실, VSWR, 임피던스변화를살펴보고자한다 주파수특성과반사손실 (b) 그림 13. 제안된안테나의 (a)vswr & (b) 임피던스 Fig. 13 (a)vswr & (b)impedance of the proposed antenna 그림 12. 주파수변화와 S11 특성 Fig. 12 Characteristic of the variable frequency and S11 그림 12는 S11 특성으로하위주파수대역에서는중심주파수 4.33GHz에서 dB, -10대역폭은 410MHz 이며, 상위대역의 -10dB 주파수는 6.09GHz ~ 9.88GHz 로, 대역폭 3.79GHz, 입력반사손실값은중심주파수 6.67GHz, 8.17GHz, 9.34GHz에서각각 dB, dB, dB로나타났다 방사패턴안테나의복사패턴의시뮬레이션결과는 4.3GHz, 7GHz, 8GHz, 9GHz에서그림과같이나타났다. 안테나의이득은 4.3GHz에서최대 5.6dBi, 6GHz, 7GHz, 8GHz, 9GHz에서각각 9.02dBi, 9.58dBi, 9.06dBi, 8.12dBi로나타났으며, 빔의각도는 30 이내에서우수한지향성특성을나타냈다 전압정재파비 (VSWR) 와임피더스그림 13(a) 는 VSWR(VotageWave standing Ratio) 시뮬레이션결과를보여준다. 시뮬레이션결과하위주파수에서는 4.09GHz ~ 4.54GHz범위, 상위주파수는 6.06GHz ~ 9.93GHz범위에서 VSWR < 2를만족하며, 특히 4.19GHz ~ 4.45GHz 와 6.29GHz ~9.68GHz 주파수대역에서는 VSWR < 1.5로매우좋은특성을나타냈다. Vol. 19, No. 2 : 265~271 Feb (b) (e) 그림 14. 3D & 2D 방사패턴 (a) 4.3GHz (b) 6GHz (c) 7GHz (d) 8GHz (e) 9GHz Fig. 14 3D & 2D Radiation Pattern (a) 4.3GHz (b) 6GHz (c) 7GHz (d) 8GHz (e) 9GHz Ⅳ. 결론 (C) (d) 본논문에서는 4.3GHz와 UWB의 6.09GHz ~ 9.88 GHz에서동작하는미엔더형마이크로스트립안테나를설계하고, 최적의안테나설계를위한파라미터변화에따른특성변화를연구하였다. 하위주파수대역에서는미엔더안테나의선폭 (D2) 이공진주파수의변화요인으로, 상위주파수대역에서는접지면의길이 (L5) 와미엔더안테나의선폭 (D1, D2) 이반사손실변화에주요변동요인으로특성변화에영향을주는것으로나타났다. 설계된안테나의임피던스는 50Ω으로중심주파수 4.33GHz에서 dB, -10dB 대역폭은 410MHz 이며, 상위 6.09GHz ~ 9.88GHz주파수에서, 대역폭 3.79GHz, 입력반사손실값은최대 dB로나타났으며이득은 4.3GHz에서최대 5.6dBi, 6GHz, 7GHz, 8GHz, 9GHz에서각각 9.02dBi, 9.58dBi, 9.06dBi, 8.12dBi로 WBAN 웨어러블기기의착용형안테나로서의우수한특성을나타냈다. 연구결과를바탕으로웨어러블기기의착용형안테나로서의성능향상과함께이동중에발생하는지향성변화를최소화하기위한연구개발이요구된다. 270
