QYA의광대역특성은평면기판상에코플래너스트립으로급전되는평면다이폴투사기와그에근접하는기생도파기로부터얻을수있다. 도파기와접지면반사기를추가하여대역내안정된이득분포를갖도록한다. 단락종단된마이크로스트립선로와슬롯선로로구성된안테나내장형밸런에의해 QYA를급전하며, 급전위치를조절하여광대역임피던스정합을얻는다 GHz 대역을포함하고이득이 4.5 dbi 이상인 QYA를설계하고 FR4 기판 ( 비유전율 4.4, 두께 1.6mm) 상에제작하였다. 실험결과제작된안테나는대역폭 59.7%( GHz), 안정된이득 ( dbi), 10 db 이상의전후방비등의우수한특성을보였다. 실험결과와컴퓨터시뮬레이션결과가잘일치하여본연구의타당성을검증하였다. Abstract In this paper, a method for the improvement in the gain and bandwidth of a microstrip-fed broadband planar quasi-yagi antenna (QYA) is studied. The broadband characteristics of the QYA are achieved from the coplanar strip-fed planar dipole driver and a parasitic director close to the driver. In order to obtain stable gain variation over the required frequency band, a director and a ground reflector are appended to the driver having a nearby parasitic director. The QYA is fed through an integrated balun composed of a microstrip line and a slot line which are terminated in a short circuit. By adjusting the feeding point, a broadband impedance matching is obtained. A QYA with an operating frequency band of GHz and a gain > 4.5 dbi is designed and fabricated on an FR4 substrate with dielectric constant of 4.4 and thickness of 1.6mm. The experimental results show that the fabricated antenna has good performance such as a broad bandwidth of 59.7%( GHz), a stable gain between dbi, and a front-to-back ratio > 10 db. The measured data agree well with the simulation, which validates this study. Key Words : Microstrip antenna, Quasi-Yagi antenna, Broadband antenna, Microstrip balun 1. 서론 평면기판상에프린트기법으로제작된 quasi-yagi 안테나 (QYA) 는접지면가장자리를반사기 (reflector) 로사용하고다이폴투사기 (driver) 를코플래너스트립 (coplanar strip; CPS) 선로로급전하며, 적절한거리에도파기 (director) 를둠으로써지향성을얻을수있다 [1,2]. QYA는적절한이득과전후방비 (front-to-back ratio; FBR) 를갖고소형이며비교적넓은대역폭을갖고있어레이더, 방향탐지안테나, RF송수신기용안테나등다양한분야에서사용되고있다. 급전선로인마이크로스트립 (microstrip; MS) 선로혹은코플래너도파관 (CPW) 과 CPS선로를테이퍼선로 (tapered line) 에의해광대역정합을시키는방법 [3,4] 이 * Corresponding Author : Junho Yeo Tel: jyeo@daegu.ac.kr 접수일 12 년 06 월 19 일수정일 (1 차 12 년 07 월 09 일, 2 차 12 년 07 월 16 일 ) 게재확정일 12 년 09 월 06 일 4165

2 한국산학기술학회논문지제 13 권제 9 호, 2012 있으나정합회로에의해급전선로의길이가증가되어야하는단점이있다. 최근별도의밸런 (balun) 회로없이 CPW-to-CPS 변환구조에의해 QYA를급전한연구결과 [5] 가보고된바있다. 그러나구조가간단해지는반면, 예상대로복사패턴이배열축에대해비대칭적인경향을보이는단점을보였고, 대역폭은 44%, 이득은 dbi 이었다. MS과 CPS 사이의광대역밸런을동일면상에구성하는방법이제안 [1] 된이후다양한급전방법을이용한 X- 밴드 (8-12GHz) 용광대역 QYA 설계와응용에대한많은연구결과들 [5-8] 이발표되었으며, 최근에는 L-밴드 (1-2GHz) 용으로설계한결과 [8] 도보고되었다. 다른방법으로 MS과 CPS 사이의밸런을 CPS상에제작함으로써기판상에밸런을위한별도의공간을필요로하지않고광대역정합특성을얻을수있는방법 [9] 이있다. 이경우 MS은단락회로로종단된 CPS를가로질러다이폴투사기를급전하며, 급전점으로부터약사분파장길이에서 MS은개방회로로종단된다. 마이크로스트립으로급전되는광대역평면다이폴안테나에대한최근연구에서 CPS 상의급전점위치를조정하여광대역임피던스정합을구현한연구 [10] 가보고된바있다. QYA에대한연구결과 [2] 에의하면광대역정합특성 ( 48%) 을얻으면이득이 3-5 dbi로낮아지고, 그와반대로이득을 2 db(5-7 dbi) 정도높이려면대역폭을감소 ( 17%) 시켜야하므로광대역과고이득을동시에만족하는특성의안테나는구현이어렵다. 이상최근까지연구된광대역 QYA에대한결과들을종합해볼때, 대역폭은약 45% 정도로비교적광대역이나대역내최소이득이 3 dbi 정도로비교적작다는단점을갖고있다. 따라서기존 QYA와유사한광대역특성을유지하면서이득이개선된 QYA 설계방법에대한연구가필요하다. 본논문에서는대역폭이최소 45% 이상이고이득이 4.5 dbi 이상인광대역 QYA 설계방법을제안한다. 제안된방법을이용한설계예로서 PCS(1.8GHz: GHz), WCDMA(2.0GHz: GHz), WiBro (2.35GHz: GHz), WLAN(2.45GHz: GHz), WiMAX (2.6GHz: GHz) 대역을모두수용할수있는안테나를설계해보고자한다. 상용설계툴인 CST사의 Microwave Studio (MWS) 를이용하여안테나의특성을시뮬레이션하고안테나의설계파라미터를최적화하였다. 샘플안테나를 FR4 기판상에제작하고반사계수, 복사패턴, 이득등을측정하여시뮬레이션과잘일치함을확인하여연구결과의타당성을검증하였다. 2. 안테나구조및설계 2.1 안테나구조 그림 1은본연구에서고려된 QYA 구조이다. 전면에는 MS이구성되고, 접지면이존재하는후면에는 QYA와이를급전하는 CPS이위치한다. 근접기생소자도파기 (director) 을갖는다이폴투사기 (driver) 는 CPS으로급전되며, 급전점위치 를조절하여특성임피던스 50옴인 MS과광대역정합을시킬수있다. QYA 급전을위한 MS과 CPS 사이의밸런을 CPS상에구현하되, 마이크로스트립종단을단락시키는방법으로밸런을구현한다. 3 이동통신기지국용광대역 quasi-yagi 안테나에관한연구 면을반사기 ( ) 로구성한것은그림 2(c) 구조이고, 최종적으로도파기 를추가한것은그림 2(d) 의구조이다. 2.2 안테나설계 먼저, 그림 3 에투사기 ( ) 만으로구성된다이폴안테 나를급전선로와정합시켰을때의반사계수특성이제시되어있다. 각파라미터값들은 = =90, =36, =2 =20, =15, =72, =7.5, =0.7, =3, =25, =5이고단위는 mm이다. 다이폴을급전하는마이크로스트립과슬롯선로의특성임피던스는각각 50옴과 100옴정도이고, 급전점의위치 ( ) 를조절하여다이폴과급전 선로의임피던스정합을얻을수있다. 반사계수가 < -10 db인대역은 GHz ( 약 20.5%) 이고공진주파수 (1.68 GHz) 에서이득은 2.0 dbi 정도로전형적인다이폴의이득 ( 약 2.2 dbi) 에근접한다. 다이폴안테나 ( ) 만으로는대역폭이제한되므로, 본논문에서는적절한크기의도파기 ( ) 를급전다이폴에매우근접한영역 ( 2-3 mm) 에도파기를부가시키는방법으로대역폭을개선시킨다. 전형적인 QYA의설계에있어서도파기와투사기간격 ( ) 은공진주파수에서 파장정도이나, 본논문의간격 ( ) 은다이폴의공진주파수 (1.68 GHz) 에서약 파장에해당된다. [ 그림 4] 근접도파기 ( ) 의영향. 길이, 폭 [Fig. 4] Effect of nearby director( ). length and width 양호한광대역특성이관찰되도록간격 2로고정하였으며, 도파기의폭 ( ) 과길이 ( ) 를조절하여원하는대역 ( GHz) 에적합한광대역특성을얻을수있다. 그림 4 에서도파기의길이 을증가시켰을때고주파대역의정합특성이개선될수있고, 하한차단주파수가점차증가됨을볼수있다. 이때, 로서반사기없이투사기와도파기만으로구성된다. 4 한국산학기술학회논문지제 13 권제 9 호, 2012 그림 4 에서보는바와같이폭 을증가시켰을때, 하한차단주파수는약간증가되고 > 9일때원하는대역을포함하는광대역정합특성을얻을수있다. 광대역특성을갖도록근접도파기 ( ) 의폭과길이를 =11, =29로고정하면, -10 db 대역은 GHz로서요구되는주파수대역 ( GHz) 을포함하며대역폭은약 60% 로서기존광대역 QYA[2] 에비해약 10% 이상개선된것이다. 이때, 이득특성은그림 5[ D 0+D 1' 로표기됨 ] 에서보는바와같이주파수가증가될수록도파기 에의해배열축 y방향으로지향성이개선되어 2.2 GHz 이상의고주파대역에서는 4 dbi 이상으로유지되나저주파대역에서는목표로하는 4.5 dbi에는다소큰차이를보인다. =W의반사기 (R 0) 를부가 [ R 0+D 0+D 1' 로표기됨 ] 하면임피던스정합특성에는큰변화가없이저주파대역의이득이개선된다. 마지막으로도파기 ( 단, =22.5, =32, =3.3) 를추가로부가 [ R 0+D 0+D 1+D 2' 로표기됨 ] 하면전대역에걸쳐 4.5 dbi 이상으로이득이유지되고, 임피던스정합특성도 -10 db 대역이 GHz(56.5%) 로서원하는대역을포함하므로목표로하는특성을만족하도록최적화되었다고볼수있다. 따라서반사기는저주파대역의이득을개선시키고, 도파기는전주파수대역의이득을향상시키는데, 저주파에서고주파로갈수록개선량이증가되는것을볼수있다. 최적화된 QYA의대역이 GHz( 약 56.5%) 로광대역이고, 대역내에서이득은 dbi로기존광대역 QYA[2] 의이득 (3-5 dbi) 에비해 1.5 db 이상개선되었고고른이득분포를보인다. 제작된안테나의반사계수를 Vector Network Analyzer N5230A(Agilent 社 ) 를이용하여측정하였다. 그림 7은제작된안테나의임피던스정합특성을측정한것으로서제시된주파수대역내에서시뮬레이션결과와반사계수의변화패턴이유사하고차단주파수가매우근접하는것을볼수있다. 전체적으로보았을때시뮬레이션결과에비해양호하며특히, 2.3 GHz 이상의고주파대역에서는시뮬레이션결과에비해정합특성이상당히개선된경향을보인다. 반사계수가 -10 db 이하인대역폭은시뮬레이션결과 56.5%( GHz) 와측정결과 59.7%( GHz) 가잘일치한다. 제작된안테나의크기는 90 mm 90 mm로서차단주파수 1.55 GHz에서약 (0.47파장) 2 에해당된다. 5 이동통신기지국용광대역 quasi-yagi 안테나에관한연구 (c) [ 그림 8] 제작된안테나의측정된복사패턴 : 1.8 GHz, 2.35 GHz, (c) 2.6 GHz [Fig. 8] Measured radiation patterns of fabricated antenna: 1.8 GHz, 2.35 GHz, and (c) 2.6 GHz 그림 8은전자파무반사실에서측정한제작된안테나의 E면 (x-y면) 과 H면 (y-z면) 복사패턴을시뮬레이션결과와비교하였으며, 이론치와측정치가비교적잘일치한다. 전후방비는주파수에따라증가되며, 10 db 이상으로유지된다. 그림 9는제작된안테나의이득특성을제시한것으로측정결과 4.5 dbi 이상이면서안정된이득분포 ( dbi) 를보인다. 측정된이득이고주파에서이론치에비해 0.5 db 이상개선된것은그림 7과그림 8에서보는바와같이고주파에서임피던스정합특성과지향성이이론치에비해개선된것에기인한다고볼수있다. [ 그림 9] 제작된안테나의이득특성 [Fig. 9] Realized gain characteristics of fabricated antenna 3. 결론 본논문에서는안정된이득분포를갖는광대역 quasi-yagi 안테나 (QYA) 설계방법을제시하였다. 고려된 QYA 구조는단락종단된마이크로스트립으로급전되는밸런일체형 QYA로서다이폴투사기, 두개의기생도파기및접지면반사기로구성된다. 다이폴투사기와이에 근접하는기생소자도파기에의해광대역특성을갖고 CPS 선로상의급전위치를조절하여 50옴급전선로와의임피던스정합한후반사기와도파기를부가하여대역내안정된이득분포를구현하였다. PCS 대역 ( GHz) 으로부터 WiMAX 대역 ( GHz) 까지수용하며 4.5 dbi 이상의이득을갖도록안테나를최적화설계하고 FR4 기판상에제작하였다. 안테나의특성을측정한결과대역폭은 59.7%( GHz), 이득 dbi, 전후방비 10 db 이상으로시뮬레이션결과와잘일치하는우수한특성을확인할수있었다. 따라서제작된광대역 QYA는다양한이동통신 (PCS, IMT200, LTE) 및무선서비스 (WiBro, WLAN, Bluetooth, WiMAX) 를통합하는소출력 ( 실내 ) 중계기용안테나로응용하기에적합할것으로기대되며, 마이크로스트립급전회로를부가하여광대역고이득배열안테나로용이하게구성할수있어서이동통신기지국안테나로활용될수있다.
