1 Journal of the Korea Academia-Industrial cooperation Society Vol. 15, No. 5 pp , ISSN / eissn 염인수 1, 강성훈 1, 정창원 1* 1 서울과학기술대학교, NID 융합기술대학원 DUAL BAND SLOT COUPLED MULTIPLE PATCH ANTENNA WITH BROAD BANDWIDTH AND HIGH DIRECTIVITY FOR WIRELESS ACCESS POINT InsuYeom 1,SeonghunKang 1 andchangwonjung 1* 1 GraduateSchoolofNID FusionTechnology,SeoulNationalUniv. ofscienceandtechnology 요약본논문은무선근거리네트워크 (WLAN) 대역의 AccessPoint(AP) 용이중대역슬롯결합패치 (SCP) 안테나에관한것이다. 본논문의안테나는세개의적층구조로구성되었고, 두개의방사체로이루어져있다. 첫번째방사체는 GHz 대역에서동작하는슬롯형태의나비넥타이 (bow-tie) 안테나이다. 두번째방사체는 GHz 에서동작하는기생소자 (parasiticelement) 들을포함한패치안테나이다. 높은이득과넓은대역폭은우수한무선접속의중요한요소이다. 대역폭을넓히기위해서첫번째방사체에서커플링급전 (couplingfeed) 이사용되었고, 두번째방사체에기생패치 (parasitic patch) 를사용하였다. 그리고, 지향성 (directivity) 과격리도 (isolation) 를향상시키기위해기생패치 (parasiticpatch) 와초크 (chock) 를고안하였다.EM 시뮬레이션을통하여분석하였고, 측정하여결과를확인하였다. 동작주파수에서 -11dB 이하의반사계수 (S11) 를보여준다. 최대이득은첫번째안테나에서 6dBi 이상, 두번째안테나에서 8dBi 이상이다. Abstract We implemented a dual-band slot-coupled patch (SCP) antenna for the external access point (AP) of the wireless local area network (WLAN) band. The antennas consist of two radiators on three layers. The first radiator is a slotted bow tie antenna operating at the GHz band. The second radiator is a patch antenna with parasitic elements operating at GHz. The high gain and broad bandwidth is important element of wireless access. To enhance the bandwidth, a coupled feeding was used in the first radiator and a parasitic patch was used in the second radiator. We used a parasitic patch and chock to improve the directivity and isolation in both radiators. The porposed antenna was designed by EM simulation tool and measured. The S11 of the antenna was less than -11dB (VSWR 1.8:1) at operating frequency. The peak gain was more than 6 dbi in the first antenna and more than 8 dbi in the second antenna. Key Word : Access Point, Broad Bandwidth, Dual Band Slot-Coupled Patch (SCP) Antenna, High Directivity, WLAN 1. 서론 무선근거리네트워크 (WLAN) 는홈네트워크나공공 의장소에서무선접속을제공하기위해사용된다. 무선 근거리네트워크는 IEEE 규격을기반으로한다. 2 GHz 와 GHz 이다. 그러나일정한공간에다수의장비들의접속과더빠른전송속도를위해서는넓은대역폭을가진이중대역의안테나가필요하다 [1,2]. 다이폴안테나는전방향성의특성을보이며무선통신시스템에서이중대역안테나로많이사용되고, 적은비용으로제작이가능하다. 그러나이러한종류의안테나는사무실, 야외, 공항과같이우수한 RF 신호가필요한곳에서비교적낮은이득을가진다. 게다가높은이득을얻기위해많은배열들 (arays) 을사용하므로크기에 대한문제가있다 [3]. 패치안테나는상대적으로높은이득을가지기때문에 WLAN 응용을위한패치안테나들이여러종류로개발되어있다 [4-6]. 앞의장점과는반대로패치안테나는일반적으로대역폭이좁고, 높은대역의방사패턴에서고조파 (harmonic) 에의한방사특성이나타나는단점이있다. [Fig. 2] Fabricated dual-band, slot-coupled, patch antenna for the access point top view side view (c) [Fig. 1] Geometry of the proposed antenna first radiator (slotted bow tie antenna) second radiator (patch antenna) (c) side view of the proposed antenna 본논문에서는무선근거리네트워크 (WLAN)access point(ap) 용이중대역, 슬롯결합패치 (SCP) 안테나를설계하였다. 본안테나는적층구조로설계되었다. 기존의적층구조를통한광대역의고지향성안테나에관한연구는주로단일대역의안테나로진행되어왔다. 제안된안테나는 2GHz 대역에서동작하는슬롯형태의나비넥타이 (bow-tie) 안테나와 5GHz 대역에서동작하는패치안테나가적층구조로제작되었다.2GHz 대역에서대역폭을넓히기위해첫번째방사체는나비넥타이 (bow-tie) 형태의슬롯안테나로설계하였다. 그리고첫번째방사체에서발생하는커플링 (coupling) 급전과 4개의기생패치들로둘러싸인두번째방사체를통해 5GHz 대역에서의대역폭이 18% 이상향상되었다. 또한, 기생패치및초크를사용함으로써, 동작주파수에서의지향성 (directivity) 3075

[Fig. 3] simulated reflection coefficient( ) to various hight with reflector 블을이용한방법에비해제작하기쉽다.Fig.1 는패치안테나의구조를보여준다.5GHz 대역에서동작하는두번째방사체의패치안테나의기판크기는 60mm ( ) 60mm ( ) 이고, 패치 ( ) 의길이는 14mm 14mm 이다. 제안된안테나는 1mm 두께의 FR-4 기판 ( =4.4) 에제작되었다.4 개의기생패치들 ( ) 의크기는각각 15.5mm 15.5mm 이고패치 ( ) 와 5GHz 에서의 1/2 (7.5mm) 거리만큼떨어져있다. 초크 (28 mm 1mm) 는패치안테나위에서기생패치 ( ) 로부터 1mm 의간격을가지고있다.Fig.1(c) 는설계된안테나의측면도이다. 나비넥타이 (bow-tie) 슬롯안테나와반사판의거리는 6mm 이고, 나비넥타이 (bow-tie) 슬롯안테나와패치안테나의거리는 5mm(5GHz 대역에서 1/8 ) 이다.Fig.2 는제작된 accesspoint(ap) 용이중대역패치안테나의사진을보여준다. [Fig. 4] simulated peak gain to various hight with reflector 2. 본론 2.1 안테나구조와배치 Fig.1 은설계된안테나의구조를보여준다. 그리고 Fig.1 은나비넥타이 (bow-tie) 슬롯안테나의구조를보여준다. 반사판의크기는 80mm 80mm 이다. 설계된안테나는 0.8mm 두께의 Taconic(RF 30) 기판 ( =2.9) 에제작되었다. 기판의크기는 56mm ( ) 56mm ( ) 이다. 그리고슬롯의크기는 2.4GHz 에서동작하기위해 39.4 mm ( ) 6mm ( ) 으로설계되었다. 슬롯안테나밑면의급전길이는 29.5mm, 너비는 2mm 이고 50 임피던스특성을보여준다. 제안된급전방식은일반적으로패치안테나에서사용되는급전방식인동축케이 [Fig. 5] Measured and simulation reflection coefficient ( ) 2.2 시뮬레이션및측정결과 Fig.3 은반사판과나비넥타이 (bow-tie) 슬롯안테나와의거리에따른반사계수 ( ) 의시뮬레이션결과를보여준다. 거리에따라 5GHz 대역은변화가없고, 간격이 6mm 되었을때,2.400GHz-2.483GHz 에서일치하게동작한다는것을알수있다. 또한 Fig.4 는반사판과나비넥타이 (bow-tie) 슬롯안테나와의거리에따른이득값의변화를시뮬레이션을통해분석하였다. Fig.5 는설계된안테나의반사계수 ( ) 의측정결과와시뮬레이션결과를보여준다. 안테나의 은 GHz 와 GHz 에서 -11 db 3076
4 (VSWR1.8:1) 미만이다. 패치 ( ) 와기생패치 ( ) 사이 의커플링 (coupling) 은 5GHz 대역의대역폭을증가시켰다. Fig. 6은설계된안테나의방사패턴 (Elevation, Azimuth) 측정값을나타낸다. 동작대역에서측정된최대이득은 6dBi 이상이다. Fig.6 는 2.44GHz 에서의 Elevation 과 Azimuth 패턴을보여준다. 최대이득은각각 6.77dBi,6.97dBi 이다. 반전력빔폭 (HPBW) 은각각, 이다 GHz,5.4GHz, 그리고 5.845GHz 에서의 Elevation 과 Azimuth 패턴은 Fig.6,(c),(d) 에서보여준다.4.905GHz 에서 Elevation 과 Azimuth 의최대이득은각각 9.19dBi, 9.40dBi 이고반전력빔폭은각각, 이다.Fig. 6(c) 와같이 5.4GHz 에서 Azimuth 의최대이득은 dbi 이고반전력빔폭은 이다. 그리고 Elevation 의최대이득은 10.37dBi 이고반전력빔폭은 이다. 마지막으로 5.845GHz 에서 Elevation 과 Azimuth 의최대이득은각각 8.04dBi,8.25dBi 이고반전력빔폭은각각, 이다.Fig.6 의결과에서와같이 Elevation 패턴과 Azimuth 패턴의반전력빔폭이 미만으로유사함을알수있다. 두번째방사체의초크 (chock) 는 Azimuth 의빔폭을감소시키고빔격리도 (isolation) 를감소시킨다. 또한, 반사판과기생소자를사용함으로써설계된안테나의지향성을향상시켰다. 3. 결론 (c) (d) [Fig. 6] The radiation pattern of the proposed antenna 2.44 GHz GHz (c) 5.4 GHz (d) GHz 넓은대역폭과높은지향성을갖는이중대역 (SCP) 안테나를설계하고측정및분석하였다. 그결과설계된안테나의최적주파수는각각 GHz, GHz 이다. 커플링 (coupling) 급전과기생소자로구성된안테나는동작주파수에서지향성과대역폭을향상시켰다. 제안된안테나는높은이득을갖고있기때문에우수한 RF 신호가필요한환경에서사용할수있다. 그리고아세탈볼트 (AcetalBolt) 를이용한적층구조와급전방법은제작하기쉬울뿐아니라공통의방사체에다수의안테나를배열하여확장할수있다. 이를통해단일안테나에서다수의 MIMO 안테나로적용가능하다. 3077
