60-Year History of the Board of Audit and Inspection of Korea (2) 1998년 7월 1일(규칙 제127호 및 훈령 제191호) 청 단위 중앙행정기관의 대전청사 이전에 따른 대전 충청지역의 감사수요 증가, 자치행 정의 질적 양적 변화, 지역정보 수집능력 강화의 필요성 등에 따라 제6국의 자치행정심의 관과 1개 과를 줄이고 대전사무소를 개설하였다. 대전사무소장(심의관급)을 신설하고 대전 사무소 총괄과를 설치하였다. 대전사무소는 대전광역시, 충청남 북도 지역 내 기초지방자치단체에 관한 감사사항 등 을 분장하였다. 그리고 일부 감사담당 국 과의 사무분장을 조정하였는데 감사원 기구와 사무분장 내용은 다음과 같다.
