ABSTRACT The team learning has been considered significant for organization development in terms of team effectiveness. Nevertheless who is actually at the center of activating team learning is still in question. In particular, team performance is greatly affected by learning of relationship level as well as individual learning capability. On the other hand, existing studies have focused on factors such as equipment, physical environment and compensation system necessary for team performance improvement. Therefore it is required to pay more attention to relationship factors among team members. This study tries to enhance the understanding of key players of team learning in perspective of relationship. Specifically, the purpose of the study is to elicit the role of key players and to verify how leadership and expertise influence the characteristic of the role with comparison of the two factors. In order to elicit the role of team learning key players, firstly I categorized the term, team learning network, into knowledge network, creative idea network and vision network by comprehensively analyzing existing domestic and international studies concerned with team learning. On the basis of this conceptualization, the questionnaire items related to team learning network, leadership, and expertise were made. Content validity of the questionnaire was verified by education, human resource developmet(hrd), and network analysis expert. It was also sophisticated by pre-surveying board members of domestic companies. With The final questionnaire, responses of 27 teams and 199 people were collected and data analysis was conducted through social network analysis and hierarchical linear analysis. The key conclusions are listed below. Firstly, 6 types of team learning key players were finally elicited through relationship data collected from the questionnaire. follower. Secondly, in turned out that all of team learning key players were highly affected by team-level. In particular, the idea herb and idea creator, the core activators of creative idea network, turned out to be most greatly affected by team-level. This result implies that in terms of methodology, the hierarchical linear analysis, which concerns variables of team capabilities are important in team learning studies. Moreover it shows that it is highly required to practically activate team learning on organization level. Thirdly, the influence of leadership and expertise on a team learning key players turned out to be different according to three sub-factors of team learning, which are knowledge, creative idea and vision. Specifically, the knowledge value adder and idea herb s roles were better explained by expertise than leadership while the other four key players roles were better explained by leadership. This shows that both leadership and expertise need to be taken into consideration for the team learning activation. This study has been conducted to enhance the knowledge about the team learning key players by specifying their role characteristics and figuring out the influence of leadership and expertise on them. With the combination of social network analysis and hierarchical linear analysis, it was possible to provide more verified and abundant information than existing studies necessary to find out the specified role and characteristics of the key players. Along with such processes this study provides the fundamental basis for understanding learning relationship of corporate organization members.
