39 HISTORY 지역특성 Various Regions 지리적특성 서울특별시의동남단에위치한송파구는 33.88km2의면적과 68만여명의인구가거주하며북쪽으로는한강을경계로광진구와, 서쪽으로는탄천을경계로강남구와접하고, 동쪽으로는강동구및남한산성을배경으로경기도하남시와, 남쪽으로는경기도성남시와접하고있으며, 서울동남권의유통중심지로서가락동농수산물도매시장과잠실동롯데월드등이있다. 역사적특성 송파는고려시대이전부터있었던것으로추정되며한강연안에위치한지리적여건으로선사시대부터신석기인들이거주하였던곳으로고대국가성립과함께고조선의활동무대가되기도하였고백제의시조온조왕부터 21대개로왕까지약 493년간백제의수도였던곳으로 BC 4세기후반부터신라가삼국을통일하는 BC 7세기후반까지백제 ( 하남위례성및한성 ), 고구려 ( 남평양성 ), 신라 ( 한산주-남한산주, 한주 ) 의세력다툼이치열하였던지역이기도하다. 또한지금의석촌호수에있는송파나루터는고려 조선왕조에이르는 1천년동안한성, 충청도, 전라도, 경상도로이어지는교통 상업의요충지였으며, 송파장은 5일장이아닌상설장터로조선시대전국 15대장터중하나였다. 이에걸맞게조상들의문화유적지로는유형문화재인백제초기몽촌토성, 풍납리토성, 석촌동의백제적석총및고분군, 무형문화재인송파산대놀이등이있다. 문화적특성 송파구는체육중심지로 1988년제24회올림픽개최도시로서다양한경기를치를수있는잠실종합운동장과올림픽공원내역도, 체조, 펜싱, 사이클등각종경기장이자리하고있으며 도심속의시민휴양지로서동호와서호로이루어진석촌호수와올림픽공원, 오금공원등이있으며올림픽로에는세계유명작가들의올림픽경기종목조각품과올림픽상징조형물인평화의문이몽촌토성과함께고대와현대가조화를이루고있는유서깊은도시이다.
