Global Doosan + [Czech] Open Door Day at SKODA POWER Open Door day for employee relatives took place on Saturday 9th June. We were very pleased that nearly 800 of our colleagues and their family members took part in the event. This year, the Open Door Day tour of the production hall and the offices was made even more appealing by 11 football players from FC Viktoria Plzen and their coach Pavel Vrba. The winners of last year's football league were first accompanied to the production hall by Vaclav Urbanek and Jaroslav Milsimer and then they met with the visitors. On this occasion the spokesman for the club was Pavel Horvath, who standing on forklift platform answered questions from Richard Kabud, the Head of HR. The football team captain praised the skills and commitment of our colleagues in production and the Head of HR highlighted the importance of linking our business success with that of FC Viktoria. Then the highlight of the event followed - signing autographs. Most of the children that were present now have a signed poster of the champions, some lucky ones even a photograph hanging on their bedroom wall. The premises closed for public at 12:30 and full production resumed.
2012 JULY page 28 29 [Vietnam] Third Anniversary and DVTV There were a couple important events at doosan Vina last month; one was a launch and the other a celebration. And since one complimented the other we ve bundled them together for this report. The launch was DVTV, our latest addition to our communication channels here at Doosan Vina. DVTV, short for Doosan Vina Television is an in-house broadcast system that we use to up-date our 2,250 employees on company news. DVTV was initiated to build esprit de corps and update employees; two activities that are hard to achieve under any circumstances, but really tough with a large workforce that s spread over five factories covering 110 hectares. After completing a study of the problem and considering our communication options, we decided a Lunchtime Newscast shown in our three cafeterias would be an ideal way to get our message to this core group of stakeholders. We chose video because the power of television is undeniable and by tying the phenomenon of TV to the fact that we have a captive audience for twenty minutes we knew we could reach the greatest number of people in the quickest, least expensive and most effective way. To start we encircled the dining areas of our three cafeterias with large flat screen TV s and linked them to a central broadcast system. The news casts are made here on site and last around twenty minutes. They focus on the importance of the work Doosan does to improve life for people worldwide which follows our internal communication strategy that s tied to our Made in Vietnam campaign. This connects employee performance to quality products, national reputation and personal pride. DVTV s rollout coincided with another important event and so our first broadcast was a segment on our third year anniversary which was our other big happening recently. The narrator spoke in Vietnamese about our short but impressive history, hitting highlights like the more than 80,000 tons of shipped products valued at near $200 million, $1.5 million in CSR donations and our steady production and quality improvements. General Director Hangha Ryu gave a message in Korean with Vietnamese subtitles and we had English subtitles throughout the broadcast so that most everyone can follow the news. If we ve tweaked your curiosity and you d like to check it out, log on to a website address. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bagrargt7iy.) We also use DVTV to augment one of our other highly regarded communication vehicles, the bilingual employee magazine titled Doosan Vina News. And you can find that by going to a website (http://issuu.com) and searching for Doosan Vina. As companies go Doosan Vina is in its infancy and DVTV is but a hatchling. Both are growing stronger day-by-day through a commitment to continuous improvement, the nurturing philosophy of the Doosan Group and the dedication of the men and women of Doosan Vina. And as we say, we invite you to, Come watch us grow and be part of the dream!
