Abstract This work presents a radar signal interferer to be used for evaluating the mutual interference among automotive radars. The developed interfering signal generator is composed of a reference signal generator and a 77 GHz transmitter. Reference signal generator is made up of commercial chips and board, it can generate various modulated signal such as triangular wave, sawtooth wave and random frequency hopping. The transmitter generates 77 GHz band signal by multiplying modulated reference signal frequency 28 times. Transmitter was fabricated using 65 nm CMOS process, it can operate horn antenna by built in on-chip waveguide feeder. The transmitter exhibited dbm output power over a frequency lock range of GHz. Ⅱ장에서는 전체 시스템 구성에 대해 설명하고, Ⅲ장에서는 변조신호 생성 결과에 대해 설명하며, 마지막 으로 Ⅳ장에서 결론을 제시한다. Ⅱ. 시스템 구성 그림 1은 본 논문에서 개발한 77 GHz 차량용 레이다 센서 간섭 신호 발생기의 블록도이다. 제어용 PC를 이용 해 DDS(Direct Digital Synthesizer) 보드에서 PLL(Phase Locked Loop)의 입력으로 들어갈 신호를 생성해준다. PLL은 이 신호를 받아 2.75 GHz 대역의 기준신호를 생성 해 주며, 송신기는 이 기준신호를 받아 77 GHz 대역의 신 호를 생성 및 방사한다. 사용된 송신기는 주파수 체배기 기반구조이며, 외부 기준신호를 이용하여 송신 신호를 생 성한다. 이때 변조된 기준신호를 이용하면 삼각파형, 톱 니파형, 임의 주파수 호핑과 같은 다양한 주파수 변조방 식을 구현할 수 있다. 주파수 체배기는 좋은 위상잡음 특 성을 얻을 수 있어 밀리미터파 대역 신호 발생기에서 많 이 사용된다. 본 논문의 간섭 신호 발생기 모듈은 하이브리드 방식 으로 제작되었다. DDS, PLL, VCO(Voltage Controlled Oscillator)는 상용 칩과 보드를 사용하였으며, 송신기는 65 nm CMOS 공정을 이용해 설계한 회로를 사용하였다. 그 림 2는 구성된 간섭 신호 발생기 모듈이다. [3] [6] 2-1 기준신호 발생기 간섭 신호 발생기 블록도 그림 1. Fig. 1. Module of interferer generator. 기준신호 발생기는 PLL, VCO, MCU(Micro Controller Unit) 그리고 DDS로 이루어져 있으며, 다음 단의 송신기 로 보내줄 2.75 GHz 대역의 기준신호를 생성한다. AD9958 DDS 보드를 이용하여 PLL의 입력 신호를 생성하는 데, 이때 프로그래밍이 가능한 MCU와 연결하여 PC로 제 어할 수 있다. PLL은 ADF4158을 사용하였으며, VCO는 Crytek사의 CVCO55CC 칩을 사용하였다. PLL은 PC에 연 결되며, 신호 파형은 Analog Devices사의 소프트웨어를 이용하여 SPI 인터페이스로 제어할 수 있다. PLL의 입력 신호원으로 DDS를 사용한 것은 변조된 기준신호를 발생 시켜 간섭 신호 발생기가 다양한 주파수 변조방식을 구 현할 수 있도록 하기 위함이다. 그림 3은 PLL, VCO, 바이어스 회로를 하나의 보드로 구성한 것을 나타낸 것이다. PLL은 DDS로부터 27.5 MHz 의 입력 신호를 받아 VCO에서 2.75 GHz의 기준신호를 생성할 수 있도록 해준다. 루프 필터는 3차 구조를 사용

Board of PLL, VCO and bias circuit. 했으며, 주파수 합성기의 위상잡음 특성과 Lock time 간 의 Trade-off를 고려하여 루프 대역폭을 100 khz로 설정 하고, 위상 마진은 60도로 설계하였다. 그리고 송신기와 PLL, DDS 보드에 다양한 바이어스를 인가하기 위하여 레귤레이터와 가변저항을 이용해 온-보드 형식으로 바이 어스 회로를 구성하였다. VCO는 GHz의 신호를 생성할 수 있으며, 기준신호 발생기에서 나오는 2.75 GHz 출력 신호의 위상 잡음 특성은 100 khz 오프셋에서 dbc/hz이다. 2-2 체배기 기반 송신기 본 논문에서는 28 체배 기반의 송신기를 사용하기 때 문에 2.75 GHz 대역의 낮은 주파수의 기준신호를 사용할 수 있다. 따라서 기준신호 전달을 위해 비용이 큰 고주파 케이블이나 커넥터를 사용할 필요가 없으며, FR-4 기판의 전송선을 사용할 수 있기 때문에 저렴한 비용으로 모듈 제작이 가능하다. 그림 4는 사용된 송신기 칩의 회로 구성도이다. 송신기 는 단일-차동 신호변환기, 주파수 7 체배기, 2단 주파수 2 체배기 그리고 2단 전력 증폭기로 구성된다. 차동의 기준 신호가 링 발진기로 주입되면 기준신호의 주기 T를 1/7씩 딜레이한 신호, 즉 2π/7씩 위상차이가 있는 2.75 GHz 신 호 7개가 만들어진다. 7개의 신호는 다음 단으로 입력되 어 7체배된 GHz의 신호를 만들고, 다음 2단의 2 체 배기를 통하며 38.5 GHz, 77 GHz의 신호를 각각 생성한 다. 생성된 77 GHz의 신호는 2단의 전력 증폭기를 지나 외부로 방사된다. 송신기 칩은 주파수 체배기와 전력 증폭기뿐만 아니 라, on-chip 도파관 급전기를 내장하여 77 GHz 대역의 출 력 신호를 급전기를 통해 직접 도파관으로 전달한다. 따 라서 mm(millimeter)파 패키징에 필요한 고가의 저손실 기판, 정밀한 인터커넥트 패터닝 및 본딩 와이어를 고려 한 임피던스 정합이 필요 없기 때문에 추가 패키징 공정 없이 간단한 구조로 송신 모듈을 구현할 수 있다. 도파관 을 통해 전달된 출력 신호는 고이득의 혼 안테나 또는 도 파관 슬롯 배열 안테나로 바로 급전될 수 있다. 그림 5는 제작한 송신기 모듈이다. 알루미늄을 가공하 여 도파관 및 하우징을 제작하였다. 도파관은 W-밴드용 WR10 규격을 사용하였으며, 도파관 입구에 송신기 칩을 부착하였다. 바이어스신호 및 기준신호는 FR-4 기판과 본 딩 와이어를 통하여 송신기 칩에 전달된다. 하우징 전면 은 혼 안테나를 연결할 수 있도록 UG-387/U 규격의 도파 관 플랜지 구조로 되어 있으며, 후면은 커버를 사용하여 덮는 구조이다. 후면 커버는 on-chip 급전기의 후방 방사 손실을 최소화하기 위한 후방 단락회로 역할을 한다. 그림 6에서 보이듯이, 송신기의 출력 주파수 잠금 범위 는 GHz이며, 잠금 범위 내에서 출력전력은 dbm이다. 77 GHz 출력 신호의 위상잡음은 100 khz 오프셋에서 dbc/hz이다. 송신기는 1.2 V의 공급전압을 가지며, 소모 전력은 mw이다. 그림 7은 기준신호 발생기와 송신기를 이용하여 제작 한 간섭 신호 발생기 모듈의 전체 구성이다. 기준신호 발 생기에서 송신기로 2.75 GHz의 기준신호가 입력되며, 송 신기에서 생성한 77 GHz 대역의 간섭 신호는 혼 안테나 [7] [8] 867

Output power of transmitter. 를 통해 방사된다. 본 연구에서는 QuinStar사의 25 dbi 고 이득 혼 안테나(QWH-WPRR00)를 사용하였다. 기준신호 는 외부 PC를 이용하여 DDS를 제어함으로써 다양한 변 조방식을 구현할 수 있다. 간섭 신호 발생기는 +1.8 V와 +8 V의 공급전압을 가지 며, +1.8 V 공급전압에서 136 ma, +8 V의 공급전압에서 243 ma의 전류를 소비한다. 868 본 연구에서 제작한 간섭 신호 발생기는 체배기 기반 의 송신기를 사용하였기 때문에 2.75 GHz 대역의 기준신 호를 필요로 한다. 송신기는 변조된 기준신호를 28체배 하여 77 GHz 대역의 변조된 출력 신호를 생성한다. 송신 기의 기준신호는 제어용 PC와 소프트웨어를 이용하여 생 성 및 변조가 가능하며, 다양한 변조방식을 구현하기 위 해 DDS를 사용하였다. 먼저, 변조된 신호를 확인하기 위 하여 DDS에서 나오는 27.5 MHz 대역의 신호를 관측하였 으며, 그 후 2.75 GHz 대역 주파수를 가지는 기준신호 발 생기의 출력 신호를 관측하였다. 마지막으로 77 GHz 대 역 송신기의 최종 출력 신호를 관측하였다. DDS와 기준 신호 발생기의 출력 신호는 Tektronix사의 DSA 71254C 모델을 사용하여 관측하였으며, 77 GHz 송신기의 출력 신호는 Keysight사의 11970W 고조파 믹서를 이용하여 하 향 변환시킨 후 N9030A PXA신호분석기를 이용하여 스 펙트럼을 관측하였다. 그림 8은 임의 주파수 호핑을 구현한 결과이다. 27 MHz에서 27.5 MHz 사이의 범위에서 4 msec마다 출력 신 호의 주파수가 임의로 변하도록 설정하였다. 그림에서 알 수 있듯이, 200 msec 동안 출력 신호의 주파수를 관측한 결과, 설정한 주파수 범위 내에서 지속적으로 주파수가 호핑하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 그림 9는 변조된 기준신호 발생기의 출력 신호를 관측 한 것이다. 출력 신호는 일정 시간마다 주파수 상승 및
