Abstract In this study, the performance of an impeller according to blade length and pitch angle was studied experimentally by building a variable pitch impeller while changing blade length to review the effect of blade length and pitch angle on a fan s performance and sound characteristics. The pitch angle was changed in six steps from 2 ~5 at intervals of 5 while the blade lengths were changed mm, 9 mm, 1 mm, 11 mm and mm with an identical airfoil shape while carrying out the experiment. Key Words : Axial flow fan, Camber angle, Chord length, Pitch angle 1. 서론 팬은기계적인에너지를회전자를이용하여기체에일을가해압력과속도에너지로변화시켜주는유체기계로산업시스템의주요구성부품이다. 즉, 건물의공기순환장치와터널및지하공간의환기장치, 중장비, 가전제품및각종열교환기의냉각장치등으로산업전반에걸쳐매우폭넓게사용된다. 축류압축기에대한 3차원점성유체유동분석은이론뿐만아니라실험적으로많은연구가이루어져왔으며 [1], 근래에는축류압축기의실속현상에대한분석및능동적실속제어를통한안전운전영역의확대를위한연구가활발히이루어지고있다.[2-] 축류팬의피치각에대한기존연구에서피치각과최대캠 버가축류팬의성능에미치는영향을시험적으로연구하여피치각변경의중요성을강조하였고, Kim등은설치각변화가축류팬의성능및유동특성에미치는영향에관하여 3개의피치각을변경시키며실험을수행하였다 [5-6]. 일반적인축류팬의성능특성은회전수가일정할때, 압력의변화특성은운전영역에서유량이감소할수록상승하다가최고점을지나실속영역으로들어가면감소하는양상을보이게된다. 실속영역은날개에서유동박리가발생하고난류성분이강해지며소음도커지는등모든면에서비효율적인영역임이밝혀져있다. 축류팬의소음에영향을주는인자는여러가지가있는데 Fukano[7-1] 는날개의끝에서발생하는후류의너비가난류소음의지배적인요소임을알아냈으며, 날개의수, 이논문은인천대학교 211년도자체연구비지원에의하여연구되었음. * Corresponding Author : Sung-Taek Jeon(Incheon Univ.) 2 피치각과날개길이변화에따른축류팬의성능및소음특성에관한실험적연구 현의길이, 캠버각등이난류소음의주요인자로, 캠버각이 2 이상이면후류의영향이커져소음이커지는것을밝혀냈다. 축류팬은피치각을조정함에따라성능및소음특성의변화가커서많은산업시설에서절실하게요구되는부분이기는하지만, 날개길이와피치각을동시에변경하여축류팬의성능및소음시험에관한연구는거의없는실정이다. 따라서본연구에서는임펠러의날개길이와피치각의크기가팬의성능및소음에어떠한영향을주는가를알아보기위해서피치각을가변할수있는임펠러를제작하여날개길이를변경해가며날개길이와피치각에따른임펠러의성능을실험젹으로고찰하였다. 2. 실험장치및방법 2.1 날개형상본연구에서사용된임펠러의정면도와측면도및날개의세부형상을 Fig. 1과 Table 1에나타내었다. 임펠러는허브와날개로구성되어있고날개의끝단을팁이라한다. 그림에서 L은날개의길이로 ~ mm이고, T 는임펠러의두께를뜻한다. 그림의하단부는날개단면의세부형상을나타낸것이다. X는날개의양쪽끝단인전단 (leading edge) 과후단 (trailing edge) 을일직선으로연결한현의길이 (chord length) 이고, φ는허브에서단면과팁에서의단면이이루는비틀림각 (twist angle) 으로날개길이에따라 1 ~ 2 이다. 피치각 (pitch angle) β는임펠러날개양쪽끝단을일직선으로이은현과임펠러회전방향이이루는각으로정의한다 [11].Koo[] 는실험적방법에의하여산업용에쓰이는조정피치형축류팬의송풍운전시임펠러블레이드의피치각변경에따른팬의전압, 정압등을측정하여팬성능변화를예측한바있으나 26 이하의피치각에서시험및수치해석을수행하였다. 본연구에서는축류팬의회전수는 17 rpm, 피치각은 2 에서 5 까지 5 간격변경해서정압변경에따른성능및소음특성에관하여시험을수행하였다. 팬날개길이는동일한에어포일형상의날개로, 9, 1, 11, mm의 5종을가공해서측정하였다. [Fig. 1] Schematic diagram of the Impeller [Table 1] Tested impeller geometry parameters Definition Value L Blade length [mm],9,1,11, T Impeller thickness [mm] 37 X Chord length [mm] 65 β Pitch angle [ ] 2 ~ 5 φ Twist angle [ ] 1 ~ 실험장치축류팬의풍량측정을위한실험장치는 KS B 6311[13] 에규정되어진복합노즐방식의실험장치로 Fig. 2에나타내었다. 실험장치는사각형의덕트형태로구성되어있고풍량측정에사용된노즐은 ASHRAE 노즐을사용하였다. 정압및차압의측정은사각덕트의네곳에압력측정용홀을가공해한곳으로모아측정하였으며공기측온도측정에는정밀도 ±.1 의교정된 PT-1Ω 센서를장착한공기취득장치를이용해건구온도와습구온도를측정하였다. 정확한풍량계산을위해서압력 ( 정압, 차압 ) 과온도를측정하였고노즐차압을이용하여풍량을측정하였다. 모터에인가되는전력은 YOKOGAWA (WT-) 전력계를사용해서측정하였으며, 모터회전수는 Inverter를이용해서정확히제어하였으며교정된스트로브스코프로재차확인하였다. 계 3171

3 한국산학기술학회논문지제 1 권제 7 호, 213 측된압력, 온도, 전력은 YOKOGAWA (MX-1) 데이터취득장치를통해서컴퓨터로보내져계산되었다. 모든물성값계산은 KS B 6311에제시된식을이용하여계산하였다. 실험의오차해석을 ANSI/ASHRAE 37[1] 에따라수행하였는데공기측풍량측정의오차는 ±.5% 이내로나타났다. 팬의소음측정은 KS B 6311의시험방법으로암소음 2dB의반무향실 (Anechoic chamber) 에서측정하였으며 Fig. 3과같이설치하였다. 팬동력은 Fan-Dynamometer를이용하였고팬회전수는 Inverter를사용하여정확히제어하였다. 팬의풍량은노즐부의단면적에통과풍속을곱한값으로나타내고, 팬효율은측정된공기동력에소비전력을나눈값으로구할수있다. 3. 실험결과및고찰 Fig. Fig. 는팬의 rpm을 175으로고정하고설정된날개길이 (mm, 9 mm, 1 mm, 11 mm, mm) 에대하여피치각을 6단계 (2 5, 5 간격 ) 로조정하면서정압별풍량을측정하였다. 5 한국산학기술학회논문지제 1 권제 7 호, 213 Fig. 9에는피치각 25, Fig. 1에는피치각 5 일때팬의 rpm을 175으로고정하여정압별풍량을나타냈다. 동일한피치각에서정압에따른풍량은날개길이가길어짐에따라점진적으로커짐을볼수있고풍량곡선의기울기변화는피치각이큰 5 경우가심하게변하였다. Fig. Fig. 1의시험결과를보면풍량은피치각에비례하다가고정압영역에서일정피치각이상이되면급격히감소됨을알수있었고, 동일한피치각일경우팬의날개길이에비례한다. 6 피치각과날개길이변화에따른축류팬의성능및소음특성에관한실험적연구 Fan Efficiency (%) Rpm, Blade Length mm 2 o, 25 o, 3 o 35 o, o, 5 o Fig. 1 은팬의블레이드길이변화에따른피치각별소음특성을나타내고있는데피치각이증가하면소음값도증가하고동일한피치각에서는블레이드길이가증가할때소음값도같이증가하는것을관찰할수있었다.. 결론 [Fig. 17] Fan Efficiency Various Pitch angle Value at Blade Length mm Sound power Level (db(a)) Rpm pitch angle 2 o, pitch angle 25 o, pitch angle 3 o pitch angle 35 o, pitch angle o, pitch angle 5 o Blade Length (mm) [Fig. 1] Sound Power Level Various Blade Length Value and Pitch angles Fig. Fig. 17에는날개길이 mm와 mm 일때풍량변화에따른팬효율곡선을표시하였는데팬효율은측정된공기동력에소비전력을나눈값으로구할수있다. 최대효율은 mm 의경우피치각 35 에서나타났으며, mm의경우피치각 25 에서최대값을보였다. 날개길이에따라최대효율을내는피치각이존재함을알수있으며, 날개길이가동일할경우피치각에따라팬효율은최대 9% 이상차이를보인다. 팬효율은날개길이에따라달라지는데날개길이가긴경우피치각영향을많이받고짧은경우적게받는다. 본연구에서고려한축류팬의경우임펠러의피치각이 35 를기점으로정압상승에따른유량의변화가크게발생하는데이러한특징이나타나는것은피치각이증가함에따라날개흡입면에서발생하는박리점이후단에서점차전단쪽으로이동하여항력이급격히증가하는양상으로압력분포가변해버린것으로판단된다. 본연구에서는피치각가변형축류팬의성능 ( 정압별풍량, 소비전력 ) 과소음특성을실험에의하여구하였다. 피치각은 2 5 로 5 간격으로 6개의각도를변화시켜가면서측정하였고팬날개는동일한에어포일형상으로길이는 mm, 9 mm, 1 mm, 11 mm, mm 로변경하여실험을수행하였으며그결과를요약하면다음과같다. 1. 축류팬의정압별풍량은피치각이커질수록선형적으로증가하였으나특정피치각 35 를기점으로정압이높은영역에서역전되는현상이발생하였다. 2. 모든날개길이에서피치각이증가하면축동력이비례적으로증가하였는데피치각이클수록증가폭이크게측정되었다. 이는피치각이클수록팬전방의항력이크게발생하기때문인것으로판단된다. 3. 본연구에서고려한축류팬의경우피치각이 3 이하일때까지유량및정압상승량이증가하지만 35 이상에서는갑작스럽게감소하는것으로나타났다.. 팬의블레이드길이변화에따른피치각별소음특성을나타내고있는데피치각이증가하면소음값도증가하고동일한피치각에서는블레이드길이가증가할때소음값도같이증가하는것을관찰할수있었다.
