51 Issuing Korean Driver s Licenses with Foreign Driver s Licenses Holders of foreign driver s licenses can be issued with Korean driver's licenses after aptitude test, or after aptitude and simple written tests, as long as their licenses are identified as valid and legit by documents, such as certificates from embassies, that they were issued by authorized organizations in the country. Documents Required in Acquiring Korean Driver s Licenses by Foreign Ones 1. Foreign driver s license (Only licenses with remaining duration of validity) 2. Notarization & Embassy s Certificate on Translations for the Foreign Driver s License - Apostille for holders of driver s licenses of America, UK, Hong Kong, and Finland - Holders of Chinese Driver s Licenses with Age over 70: Medical examination certificate by Chinese Ministry of Transport 3. Passport (Reviews visas and stamps) - When the nationality of the holder is different from the country that issued the driver s license, the person should prove that s/he stayed for more than 90 days in the said country. If the duration is unidentified in the passport, submit employment certificates, enrollment certificates, or tax invoices, etc. 4.
