First, the study analyzed the kinematic model of an exoskeleton robot for the lower limb that changes according to the gait phase detection of a human. Based on the ground reaction force (GRF), which is generated when walking, to proceed with insole sensor development, the sensing type, location, and the number of sensors were selected. The center of pressure (COP) of the human foot was understood first, prior to the development of algorithm. Using the COP, an algorithm was developed that is capable of detecting the gait phase with small number of sensors. An experiment at 3 km/h speed was conducted on the developed sensor system to evaluate the developed insole sensor system and the gait phase detection algorithm. KEYWORDS: Wearable robot sensor ( 착용형로봇센서 ), Insole sensor ( 인솔센서 ), Gait phase detection ( 보행주기구분 ), Lower extremity exoskeleton ( 하지외골격로봇 ), Center of pressure ( 족저압중심 ). 서론 최근인간의힘을증폭하거나인간의활동을보조하는하지외골격로봇의연구가활발히진행되고있다. 하지외골격로봇은자세제어와동작의도생성을사람이담당하여다양한환경에서사람을보조하는시스템으로사람의동작의도를파 악하는연구와로봇의동작을생성및제어하는연구가중요하게자리잡고있다. 하지외골격로봇은대개사람의관절구조와유사하게설계하며, 사람의동작에동기화되도록제어된다. 이러한하지외골격로봇은사람과유사하게보행시지면과의접촉상황에따라구성된기구부의동작자유도및원점이변화하게되 Copyright C The Korean Society for Precision Engineering This is an Open-Access article distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial License ( which permits unrestricted non-commercial use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.

2 한국정밀공학회지제 32 권제 2 호 pp December 205 / 066 며, 제어시자유도변화에따라정역학 / 동역학모델의변화로모델의파라미터및제어게인값등을변경해야하는필요성이있다. 따라서지면과의접촉시변화되는하지외골격로봇의동작자유도를구분하고자연스러운보행제어를위하여보행주기를판단하기위한연구가필요하다. 사람의보행주기를판단하기위한방법으로상용화된제품인힘측정판 (Force Plate) 과동작분석장치 (Motion Capture) 을이용하여보행주기를판단하는방법은있으나, 이는고가이며분석장치가있는한정된장소에서만이루어지기때문에이동성제약이따른다. 또한실시간데이터처리의어려움으로실시간판단이필요한하지외골격로봇에는적용하기가불가능하다. 이런단점을보완하기위하여다양한목적으로사람의보행주기를판단하는보행주기판단센서시스템들이개발되고있다. 기존의보행주기판단센서시스템은지면반발력을이용한경우와보행동작변화를이용한경우그리고두기술을융합한경우로나눌수있다. 첫번째로, 지면반발력을이용한사례들을보면본연구와가장유사한하지외골격로봇에적용한형태로 U.C. Berkeley의 BLEEX (Berkeley Lower Ex-tremity Exoskeleton) 은겉창 (outsole) 형태로다수의스위치 (Tape Switch) 와발바닥전면에튜브를설치하여개발하였으며, 보행시지면반발력에의해변화하는튜브내부의압력과스위치의 ON/OFF 값을입력받아이전의상태와현재에상태를비교하는논리알고리즘으로사람의보행주기를판단하였다. 그러나다수에스위치를인식하기위하여많은 I/O가필요하여입력구성이복잡하고, 센서내구성이낮은단점을갖고있다. Margaret M 등은인솔 (Insole) 형태로 FSR(Force-Sensitive Resistor) 센서로데이터를측정하고개발한퍼지로직알고리즘으로보행구간을판단하였으며, Kyoungchul Kong 등은 FSR의단점인비선형성을보안하기위하여공기튜브와공기압력센서를이용하는센서모듈을개발하여, 퍼지논리알고리즘을기반으로보행을판단하였다. 2,3 두번째, 동작에변화를이용하여개발된 S Godha 등은발등에 IMU(MEMS-based Inertial Measurement Unit) 센서를부착, 보행주기에서변화하는가속도분석을통하여기준값을선정하고, 보행주기를판단하였으며, Arash Salarian 등도발등에 IMU 센서를부착, 보행주기에서변화하는각속도를힘측정판과비교, 분석하여각속도의기준값을정하고보행주 기를판단하였다. 4,5 하지만동작변화측정에많이쓰이는 IMU센서는외란에의한잡음 (noise), 표류 (drift) 현상등이발생되어높은성능의데이터처리방식이필요하다는단점을가지고있다. 마지막으로, 지면반발력과동작인식을함께이용하여서로의장단점을보완하여개발된사례는다음과같다. Bufu Huang 등은 FSR, 기울기센서, 자이로센서, 굽힘센서 (bend Sensor), 가속도센서를설치하여인공신경망알고리즘을기반으로보행을판단하였으며, 편리성을확보하기위하여무선통신시스템으로개발하였다. 6 I. P. I. Pappas 등은 FSR 센서와자이로센서를이용하여 FSR 센서에서들어오는지면반발력에기준값을정하고자이로센서에각도값을비교하여보행을판단하였다. 7 위에서소개된기존의보행주기판단센서시스템은, 단점을보완하기위해지면반발력측정센서, 동작변화센서등다양한센서를융합하여개발하였다. 이렇게서로다른다수의센서를이용하면세부적인보행구간판단과정확성을보완할수있지만, 센서를연결하기위한 I/O 단자가많아지며, 데이터연산처리를위한구성요소등에의해시스템의부피가커지고센서의비용이증가한다는단점을갖고있다. 또한다양한센서를많이사용하게되는경우, 보행판단알고리즘에는보행시측정되는센서값인지면반발력값, 보행동작에서나타나는선 / 각속도, 선 / 각가속도값이개인의보행특성과체중, 지면에상태, 보행속도에의해다양하게나타난다. 따라서실험을통해각센서마다개인에기준값 (threshold value) 설정하여보행판단알고리즘을적용해야하기때문에실시간으로제어되며, 착용자가변경될수있는하지외골격로봇에는적합하지않다는단점이있다. 본논문은사람의보행에의해자유도가변화하는하지외골격로봇의모델을판단하고자보행주기구분센서시스템을개발하는연구이다. 본연구에서제안하는시스템은이동성제약없이실시간으로보행주기를구분할수있는센서를개발하며, 기존개발된보행주기구분시스템의단점을보완하여소량의센서를적용하여시스템단순화및부피감소가이루어지도록개발하였다. 또한사람의체중, 보행특성, 센서의특성에독립적이며보행주기를구분할수있는, 족저압중심 (Center of Pressure: COP) 기반의실시간보행주기검출알고리즘을포함하여하지외골격로봇에적용이가능한인솔센서를개발하였다.

3 한국정밀공학회지제 32 권제 2 호 pp December 205 / 067 Fig. Human-Gait cycle analysis of level-ground walking 2. 보행주기구분센서시스템 2. 센서시스템개념 2.. 인체보행단계분석인체의보행은신체이동중가장기본이되는것으로반복적인고유의패턴을형성하고있다. 이러한반복적인패턴을한주기로나누면입각기 (Stance Phase) 와유각기 (Swing Phase) 로구분할수있다. 입각기는발이지면에닿아있는시기로정상보행주기의 60% 정도를차지하며, 입각기중에서양발이지면에닿아있는시기를동시입각기라고하여입각기의 25% 를차지한다. 유각기는발이지면에서떠있는시기를말하며보행주기의 40% 를차지한다. 입각기를세부적으로구분하여보행주기를나타내면 Fig. 과같이구성된다. 8,9 최초접지 (Initial Contact: IC): 전체보행주기의 0-2% 를차지하는단계로발뒷굽이바닥에접촉하는시기, 하중반응 (Loading Response: LR): 0-0% 를차지하는단계로체중흡수하는시기, 중간입각기 (Mid Stance: MS): 0-30% 를차지하는단계로체중이반대발을통과하는시기, 말기입각기 (Terminal Stance: TS): 30-50% 를차지하는단계로발뒤꿈치가들리는시기, 전유각기 (Pre-Swing: PS): 보행주기의 50-60% 를차지하며유각기로전환을준비하고, 지지한발의발가락들기 (Toe off) 가일어나는시기로, 보행주기는위의순서로진행되며구분된다. 본연구에서는유각기를포함하는인체의보행주기전구간에대해서고려할것이다. Fig. 2 Sagittal plane representation of Exoskeleton robot for lower limb in (a) the single support phase, (b) the double support phase and (c) the double support phase with one redundancy 2..2 하지외골격로봇의모델하지외골격로봇은사람의하지와유사한자유도를갖는로봇으로대부분시상면 (Sagittal Plane) 에서 3자유도를갖도록개발한다. 이러한하지외골격로봇은사람의보행과유사한보행패턴이일어나며 Fig. 2와같이 3개모델의연속적인패턴으로나눌수있다. Fig. 2(a) 의한발지지상태 (Single Support) 는한발이지면에닿아있고다른한발은지면에서떠있는상황으로발과지면의관계로부터여자유도가생성되어 7자유도를가지는모델로나타나며, Fig. 2(b) 의두발지지상태 (Double Support) 는양발을구분하여두개의 3자유도모델로나타낼수있다. 마지막으로 Fig. 2(c) 의두발지지상태에서도양발을구분하여 3자유도와 4자유도를가지는모델로나타낼수있다. 0 위의모델은지면과의관계로부터구분되기때

4 한국정밀공학회지제 32 권제 2 호 pp December 205 / 068 문에사람의보행주기로부터판단할수있다. 먼저 Fig. 2(a) 의한발지지상태를판단하기위해서는말기입각기, 유각기판단이필요하며, Fig. 2(b) 인두발지지상태에서는최초접지, Fig. 2(c) 인두발지지상태에서는최초접지, 말기입각기판단이필요하다. 따라서본연구에서는하지외골격로봇의제어를위한 3 개의로봇모델을구분하기위하여사람보행구간인최초접지 / 하중반응, 말기입각기, 유각기구간을구분할수있으며추가로중간입각기구분이가능한알고리즘과인솔센서를개발하였다. 2.2 센서시스템개발본연구에서개발한보행주기판단을위한인솔센서는지면과의압력을측정하는센서부와그신호를입력받고보행주기를판단하는제어부, 데이터를송 / 수신하는통신부로나누며, 전체구성은 Fig. 3 과같다 센서및위치선정센서는 Table 와같이지면반발력측정을위해인솔형태에적용이가능한유연성있는 3 종류의압력 / 힘센서의특성을비교분석하여선정하였다. 각센서의특징을보면 FSR 와 Flexiforce 는압력에따라저항이변하는센서로값이저렴하고입력구성이편리하다. 반면에 Capacitive sensor 는압력에의해서정전용량이변화는센서로다른두센서보다선형성, 정확도, 반복성, 등뛰어나지만사용이어렵고대부분주문생산방식이며매우고가이다. 그러므로본논문에서는쉽게구할수있는 FSR 와 Flexiforce 의제품중선형성이뛰어나며입력면적이넓은 Flexiforce-A40 Model 를선택하였다. 센서의위치선정을위해인체의보행시발바닥에작용하는압력을분석하였다. 보행시발뒤축, 중족골, 엄지발가락세곳압력이크게나타난다. 발뒤축은최초접지기 - 중간입각기동안에큰압력이작용하며중간입각기직전에최대의접촉면적을형성하면서보행이진전함에따라차차감소한다. 중족골은중간입각기에접촉하기시작하여말기입각기시전방가속을위하여큰압력이작용된다. 말기입각기에발목관절의급격한저굴로인해서엄지발가락에압력이집중된다. 영역별접촉면적은발뒤축, 내측중족골, 외측아치부분이일반적으로크며내측아치부분은매우 Fig. 3 Insole system for gait phase detection Table Comparison of pressure/force sensors Sensor/ Capacitive FSR Flexiforce Model sensor Pressure Company INTERLINK ELECTRONICS TEKSCAN profile systems, Inc. Sensing Ploymer thick film Piezoresistive Capacitive Sensing area 0mm 25.4mm OEM Input range 0N to 0N 0 to 0N OEM Repeatability ±2% to 5% ±2.5% - Linearity error ±0% ±3% ±% Price Low Low High 작게나타나며엄지발가락부위도상대적으로작게나타난다. 영역별로작용하는힘은영역별최대압력과접촉면적에의해서영향을받게되며, 발뒤축, 내측중족골, 외측아치부분이일반적으로크게나타난다. 발바닥에작용하는압력의분석을통해앞서선정된 Flexiforce 센서가적용되는위치를선정하였다. 가장큰압력을받는세군데부위중발뒤축에한개, 면적이넓은중족골위치에는두개의센서를부착하여제작하였다. 엄지발가락부위는말기입각기마지막에짧은시간동안압력이발생되는부분으로유각기판단에아주작은오차를제공할수있으나실험결과판단시간에오차가매우작아제외하였다. 또한사람의발크기에변화하는각부위에위치선정은성덕현등이조사한한국인발형상데이터의통계량을토대로위치를선정하였다 하드웨어사양개발된인솔센서시스템은하지외골격로봇착용시사용에용이하도록무선통신기반으로제작하였으며, 제어부와무선통신송신부는일체형보드형태로개발하여인솔내부에장착하였

5 한국정밀공학회지제 32 권제 2 호 pp December 205 / 069 다. 제어부의마이크로프로세서 (dspic33xx) 는아날로그센서의출력값을샘플링하여 A/D (Analog to Digital) 변환하고그데이터를보행구간구분알고리즘을적용하여실시간으로보행구간을판단하였다. 무선통신은빠른데이터전송을위해서블루투스 (FB755AC) 모듈을선택하였으며송신부는제어부에서데이터를받아 5ms 마다수신부로전송하게된다. 사용된블루투스모듈은 Class 으로구동된다. 수신부는송신부에서받은데이터를다양한센서네트워크형성이쉬운 CAN (Controll-er Area Network) 통신또는 RS-232 통신으로변환하여하지외골격로봇에전송가능하도록개발하였다. 3. 보행주기판단알고리즘 3. 보행의지면반발력과족저압중심보행이란근의연속운동에의해서몸의중심을전방으로이동하는행위로서이는지면과의접촉으로행해진다. 이때발과지면과의접촉에서발생되는힘을지면반발력 (Ground Reaction Force: GRF) 이라고한다. 2.2 절에서같이보행의지면반발력은입각기의최초접지에서발뒤축부분에압력집중이현저하게일어나고보행이진전됨에따라말기입각기에는중족골부위에큰압력이작용된다. 그러므로보행시일어나는몸의이동에의해발바닥에반발력은발뒤축에서앞쪽으로이동하는모습을볼수있다. 이와같은반발력이동경로는족저압중심의이동경로확인할수있다. 족저압중심, 즉 COP 란발에서수직반발력벡터의한점으로서지면과접촉하고있는모든압력점의무게평균을의미하며, 수직력에의한모멘트의힘이 0 이되는곳으로작용점의위치와동일하다. 또한발바닥이지면과접촉할때힘의발바닥전체에작용하기때문에한지점이라고는할수없으므로압력중심이라고부르며, 매접지순간마다의 COP 을구하여연결한것이바로족저압중심이동경로이다. 보행동안 COP 의이동경로를분석하면보행자의균형감각이나이동습관등을알수있어생체역학적의미뿐만아니라임상적으로도유용하게이용하고있다. 3.2 보행주기판단알고리즘기존유사연구에서많이사용하는기준값방식의경우각센서마다실험을통하여기준값을정 해야하므로센서의개수가많아지면설정값이많아진다는단점을갖고있다. 이러한단점을보완하고자본연구의보행주기판단알고리즘은다수의센서로부터측정되는수직지면반발력 (Vertical Ground Reaction Force: vgrf) 값을 COP 로연산하여그값의구분을통해보행주기를판단한다. COP 로보행주기를판단하면발바닥에서측정되는다수의센서값을 COP x, COP y 두개의값으로만출력되기때문에설정값이단순해지며, COP 는보행주기에따라변화하기때문에이동경로의구분으로보행주기판단이가능하다. 일반적으로 COP 은압력분포판이나인솔형압력분포측정기에서들어오는 vgrf 를측정하여식 () 을통해서구해진다. 6 한국정밀공학회지제 32 권제 2 호 pp December 205 / 070 Table 2 Subject spec Subject Age Weight[kg] Size[mm] Fig. 4 Schematic diagram of sensor 보행주기판단알고리즘은 Fig. 5 과같이 COP x 와 COP y 의이동경로를구분하여판단하는알고리즘이다. 먼저인솔센서를착용하면보정알고리즘이동작한다. 여기서보정알고리즘은착용자마다착용방식에따라다르게발생되는좌우압력차이를보정하기위해최초 회만동작된다. 보정알고리즘은오른발왼발따로진행하며유각기자세에서발생되는센서의값을한번에제거하는알고리즘이다. 따라서보정알고리즘이동작한후에는수직자세시 COP 가원점위치에놓이게된다. 보정알고리즘을진행한후보행판단알고리즘에따라실시간으로계산되는 COP x 값으로입각기와유각기를구분하며입각기가판단되면 COP y 값에따라최초접지, 중간입각기, 말기입각기를판단하게된다. 4. 실험및결과 Fig. 5 Gait phase detection algorithm 식 (2) 의 i 는 Fig. 4와같이발뒤축과중족골에 부착된센서를나타낸것이다. 따라서 FRi(), t FLi () t 는센서에보행시들어오는 vgrf이고, x, y 는 i i 족관절에서센서중심까지의거리를나타낸다. 따 라서두센서에의해서들어오는 vgrf는식 (2) 에 의해 COP x 을구할수있으며, 식 (3) 을통하여양 발의 COP y 를구할수있다. 4. 실험방법정의 3.2 절에서개발된보행주기판단알고리즘을인솔형센서시스템에적용하였으며, 실험결과의분석을통하여개발한인솔센서시스템의성능에대해서검증하고자한다. Table 2 와같이피험자는총 5 명으로모두건강한신체조건과서로다른체중, 발사이즈를갖고있으며, 이에인솔센서사이즈도발사이즈에맞도록준비하여실험을진행하였다. 실험은트레이드밀에서테스트를진행하였으며, 보행속도는 3km/h 의속도로피험자별로 0 분간 3 회를진행하였다. 데이터수집을위해 CAN 통신방식으로 Labview 기반인컨트롤러및수집장치 crio 로 5ms 마다데이터를수집하였다. 4.2 실험결과 Figs. 6 과 7 은인솔센서시스템을적용한보행실험을진행하면서수집한 vgrf, COP y, 보행구간판단실험결과값을나타낸것이다. vgrf 는세개의센서값을합한결과이며, 측정되는접촉부

COP y 값은최초접지에서는발뒤축부분에서진전되면서말기입각기에는중족골부위로변화하는것을확인하였으며, 4 개의보행구간판단이진행된것을볼수있었다. Fig. 7 은보행구간이판단된모든샘플에실험결과로평균과표준편차로나타낸것이다. 그래프에서 : 최초접지, 2: 중간입각기, 3: 말기입각기, 4: 유각기를나타낸것이다. 또한최초접지는보행주기의기준으로정의하기위해최초접지구분에는딜레이가없다고가정하여표현하였다. Fig. 7 에표현된피험자별보행주기는전체피험자의평균및표준편차로 Table 3 에나타내었다. Table 3 과같이중간입각기의경우평균 9.45± 3.26%, 말기입각기의경우평균 29.65±5.44%, 유각기의경우평균 6.9±.65% 을보인다. 2. 절에서설명한사람의보행구간주기와비교하면중간입각기의경우평균 0.5±3.26% 오차, 말기입각기의경우평균 0.35±5.44% 오차, 유각기의경우평균.95±.65% 오차를보였다. 결과는작은오차를보였으나편차가다소큰것을확인할수있다. 이는일정한보행속도을위해트레이드밀에서실험 Table 3 Result of gait phase detection Gait Initial Middle Terminal Swing[4] phase[%] contact[] stance[2] stance[3] Subject - 0± ± ±.5 Subject2 -.25± ± ±.5 Subject3-9.25± ± ±2.08 Subject4-8± ± ±2.6 Subject5-8.75± ± ±0.95 이진행되어다소부자연스러운보행이루어진점과사람마다보행에특성이다르게때문에발생한결과로보인다. 하지만 2. 절에서설명한구간안에서작은오차를보이며판단되기때문에개발된인솔센서는유용하다고볼수있으며하지외골격로봇에적합하다고판단된다. 5. 결론 본연구에서는하지외골격로봇에적용이가능한인솔센서시스템과보행주기구분을위한알고리즘을개발하였다. 인솔센서를개발하기위하여사람의보행구간과반발력을분석하였으며, 보행주기판단알고리즘을개발하기위하여족저압중심을이해하였다. 이를통하여새로운보행주기판단알고리즘을개발하였으며, 인솔센서시스템을개발하였다. 또한피험자별보행분석실험을통하여개발된인솔센서의보행주기성능을검증하였다. 개발된인솔센서를통해사람의보행구간에의해다양한자유도를갖는하지외골격로봇의모델을판단할수있게되었으며, 다양한제어방법에적용이가능할것으로기대된다. 또한하
