MIRIS는 주임무인 은하면 Pa α 방출선 탐사관측과 극지역( 황북극, 은하남 북극) I 및 H 밴 드 광역(10 10 이상) 관측을 완료하였고 지구관측을 수행하고 있다. 표지에 삽입된 영상은 MIRIS로 관측한 용골자리성 운(Carina Nebula) 지역의 Pa- α 방출선 영상( 왼쪽 위) 과 황북극 방향 I 및 H 밴드 광역 영상( 왼쪽 가운데) 이다. 오른쪽 아 래에는 MIRIS 지구관측카메라를 활용하여 강화도/ 석모도부터 ~ 용유도, 강화만( 남쪽부터 북쪽으로) 을 밤에 관측한 적외선 영상( 오른쪽) 과 구글 위성지도( 왼쪽) 를 비교하였다. 더 많은 우주관측 영상은 홈페이지 확인할 수 있다.

29 구두발표논문 초록 초청강연 I 좌장: 이병선 (ETRI) 13:50 [IS-I] Current Activities of Payloads for Satellite Communications & Broadcasting Applications Manseok Uhm Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute The communication payload can receive and amplify uplinked radio signals from earth satellite transmission stations, process the converted signals and transmit high power RF signal to earth satellite receiving stations. During the last 20 years, broadcasting and communication markets have not really changed with typical needs featuring fixed widebeam coverage and fixed frequency plans. However, recent satellite payload adopts technologies of flexibility which enable to realize cost effective payload due to high economic pressure. Flexible payloads can provide flexibilities in beam coverage, frequency spectrum and output RF power. In this paper, activities of recent flexible payloads are presented. Design results of reconfigurable beam antenna with array-fed reflector and measured results of 2x2 feed array are described, respectively. Development technologies related to flexibilities of frequency spectrum and RF power are shown such as agile local oscillator, multi-port amplifier and flexible amplifier. The requirements and configuration of communication and broadcasting payloads for satellite applications are proposed and will be discussed. I-1 자기권 I 좌장: 황정아 ( 천문연) 14:20 [I-1-1] A statistical study of EMIC waves observed at THEMIS probes in the outer magnetosphere under quiet geomagnetic conditions Gi-Jeong Kim, Khan-Hyuk Kim, Dong-Hun Lee, Junga Hwang, Jong-Sun Park, and Ensang Lee Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute Kyung Hee University University of Science and Technology (UST) National Central University, Taiwan Eletromagnetic ion cyclotron (EMIC) waves have been considered to be excited in the equatorial region by a cyclotron resonant interaction with ~ kev anisotropic (T >T ) ions. EMIC waves are generated in H band between the local proton gyrofrequency (Ω H+) and local helium ion gyrofrequency (Ω He+), He band between the local Ω He+ and local oxygen ion gyrofrequency (Ω O+), and O band below the local Ω O+. Previous statistical study using AMPTE/CCE with apogee at 8.8 RE reported that EMIC waves are mostly detected in the afternoon sector. It has been suggested that the large occurrence rate of EMIC waves in the afternoon sector is associated with the cold plasma population of the plasmaspheric bulge or plume located near afternoon or dusk. Recent statistical study of EMIC waves using THEMIS data (apogee of ~11 R E) reported that there are two isolated occurrence peaks: one is in the afternoon and the other is in the morning. Out of them, electromagnetic ion cyclotron (EMIC) waves have long been considered to play a role of an important loss mechanism of radiation belt electrons. The EMIC waves can cause relativistic electron precipitation (REP) of outer radiation belt into atmosphere through pitch angle scattering. But their statistical effectiveness is poorly understood and is not fully quantified. Here we survey the REP events observed with MEPED P6 telescope onboard low altitude NOAA POES/MetOp satellites while Van Allen Probes observe the EMIC waves over 4 years. We determine what fraction of the EMIC waves is associated with REP events.
