The e-business Studies Volume 17, Number 4, August, 30, 2016:109~121 Received: 2016/08/09, Accepted: 2016/08/28 Revised: 2016/08/28, Published: 2016/08/30 [ABSTRACT] In this paper, I propose a model to estimate values of essential patents and general patents and estimate thei r values. For the purposes I use the year data from 1998 to 2013 which are selected from Statistics Korea, Ko rea Trade Association(KTA), and Ban k of Korea(BOK). The results are that the elasticities of essential patents in ICT manufacturing industry vary from 0.508 to 0.660 depending on the mod els and both of them are significant statistically. In case of ICT service ind ustry, the elasticity of essential patent is 0.095, but is not significant statistic ally. On the other hand, the elasticitie s of general patents in ICT manufactu ring industry vary from 0.101 to 0.263 depending on the models, none of the m, however, are significant statisticall y. In case of ICT service industry, the elasticity of general patent is 0.688 si gnificant statistically. In the ICT manu facturing industry, value per essential patent is 4,460 million Korean Won, and value per general patents is 2.63 million Korean Won. In case of the IC T service industry, value per essential patent is 3,778 million Korean Won, and value per general patents is 12.7 million Korean Won. [CONTENTS] ABSTRACT Ⅰ. Introduction Ⅱ.
