학술 논문 Abstract This research was carried out to investigate the facts and the characteristics of the secondary school discipline under the rule of Japanese Imperialism. The facts of regulation were looked at by dividing into the main body and the content of the discipline, and the method of internalizing of the discipline. The first characteristic of the student regulation at that time was that students were merely the subject of the discipline. Students did not take parts independently in the enactment and the application of the discipline. Secondly, it was the extensiveness of the discipline. All living territories of students, which include not just intramural activities, but also extramural activities, were the subject to the discipline. Thirdly, the basic rights of students were not protected. Freedom of body, freedom of private life, and freedom of mind were the subject to the regulation, not the subject for the protection. However, as we put together all these characteristics, the student discipline of the secondary school under the rule of Japanese Imperialism has a point of similarity with the military and prison discipline.
