韓國電磁波學會誌第22卷第6號 2011年 11月 와 같은 인공위성 산란계(scatterometer)를 이 용하여 풍속과 풍향을 추출해 왔으나, 그 해상도가 수십 km에 달하기 때문에 고해상도인 SAR를 이용한 해풍 연구가 활발히 진행 중에 있다.

3-1 해풍 영상은 해수면의 거칠기에 따라서 밝기가 변화하는데, 이용하여 해풍의 풍속과 풍향을 계산하 는 연구가 매우 활발하다. 바다 표면에서 표면장력 파(capillary wave) 혹은 중력파(gravity wave)에 의한 산 란 모델을 통해 SAR 영상의 밝기를 풍속으로 역산 하며, 현재 다양한 마이크로파 파장과 편파에 대한 산란모델이존재한다.

7 韓國電磁波學會誌第22卷第6號 2011年 11月 와 같은 인공위성 산란계(scatterometer)를 이 용하여 풍속과 풍향을 추출해 왔으나, 그 해상도가 수십 km에 달하기 때문에 고해상도인 SAR를 이용한 해풍 연구가 활발히 진행 중에 있다. SAR를 이용한 풍 향의 결정은 바람에 의한 물결의 방향(wind streak)이 확실할 경우 영상에서 추출할 수 있지만, 그렇지 못 할 경우 기상 정보나 산란계 자료와 같은 외부 정보 가 필요하다([그림 10]). ADEOSII (a) a conventional method (b) a newly developed method [22] [그림 8] Differential interferograms of urban area 을 위하여 SAR의 해양 활용 분야는 매우 다양하다. 연구의 대상에 따라 해풍(wind), 표면파(surface wave), 내부파(internal wave), 해류(current), 해저 지형(bathymetry), 유류/생물막(oil spill/biological film), 선박 탐지, 조간대/연안 분야로 세분될 수 있다. 3-1 해풍 영상은 해수면의 거칠기에 따라서 밝기가 변화하는데, 이용하여 해풍의 풍속과 풍향을 계산하 는 연구가 매우 활발하다. 바다 표면에서 표면장력 파(capillary wave) 혹은 중력파(gravity wave)에 의한 산 란 모델을 통해 SAR 영상의 밝기를 풍속으로 역산 하며, 현재 다양한 마이크로파 파장과 편파에 대한 산란모델이존재한다. 한편, 미국의 NSCAT, QuikSCAT, SAR (a) Four-component scattering power decomposition 3-2 파랑 해수면에서의 파랑은 바람의 크기와 방향 및 지 속 시간, 해저 지형, 해류 및 조류에 따라 성질이 달 라진다. SAR 영상에서 선형적인 파랑 정보를 추출하 기 위해 주로 푸리에 변환을 거쳐 파랑의 주요 스펙 트럼을 추출하고, 이를 통해 파랑의 파장과 진행방향 을 알아낸다([그림 11]). 이 때 파랑의 진향 방향은 180도의 모호성을 지니게 되는데, 이는 SAR 영상화 과정에서 azimuth 스펙트럼 성분을 분할하여 두 개의 영상을 만든 후, 이의 상관성을 보는 inter-look crossspectra 방법을 사용하면 방향을 결정할 수 있다. 3-3 내부파 해양의 SAR 영상에서 간혹 파장이 수 백미터에서 수 킬로미터의 장파가 관찰되는 데, 이는 밀도가 비슷 한 두 해수가 만나서 층을 이루는 경계부에서 에너지 (b) Decomposition (c) Decomposition using rotated using rotated cocoherency matrices variance matrices [그림 9] ALOS-PALSAR decomposition of Tokyo Bay, [23] Japan [24] [그림 10] Wind field estimated from TerraSAR-X 61
