Welcome Message Park, Byung-Il Chairman, The Korean Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Dear members of our society, Despite the difficult circumstances, I thank all the members who have paid much attention to the progression of our annual meeting. The year 2012 is the 30th anniversary for our Korean Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. In this memorable year, I am delighted to announce that our meeting this year will be held as an international one like the year before. This year s meeting is going to be a great opportunity to find out our developmental status of aesthetic plastic surgery Especially in the year 2012, we are planning not only academic symposiums and exhibitions for plastic surgeons, but an aesthetic EXPO for the general public also which is going to be a great opportunity to advertise our society and the status of plastic surgeons to our people. We hope this international meeting would be place of harmony for Korean and other plastic surgeons for the world and we are certain that it would advance our knowledge in aesthetic plastic surgery. Welcome Message Suh, In Suck Chairman, Board of Director, The Korean Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Respected members of the society and foreign guests who love Korean aesthetic plastic Surgery. On April 13th-15th in 2012, the 30th annual meeting of Korean Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery is going to be held at the convention center in Coex, along with the 10th annual meeting of Korean Association of Plastic Surgeons. In this meeting, like the one before, we have prepared lectures on aesthetic surgery for the eyes, nose, facial contouring, facial wrinkles, and body contouring, ranging from basic courses to 12 master courses for experts in Korea and also from abroad. Also, a renown expert doctor Claude Lelouarn from France is invited to speak on Body contouring : a new concept to improve safety and results, along with many other invited speakers from Japan, China, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Singapore. In this meeting we are planning to have much discussion on the differences of our knowledge and techniques in aesthetic plastic surgery, and hope to advance and advertise the excellence of our skills in aesthetic plastic surgery. For a meaningful and unforgettable meeting, we have included the Gala party in the Program which was first tried out last year, and also prepared an international aesthetic Plastic surgery EXPO for the general public. This is a first trial by our society to introduce The recent development and trends of various functional cosmetic products, anti-aging Products, and weight loss products to the public. And there by create a festival for not only Plastic surgeons but also to all the people who love plastic surgery. This is a difficult time for us with the global financial crisis and the newly created value- added tax for plastic surgeries, but I encourage all members to participate in the meeting and to encourage each other to unite force, to create harmony between ourselves. Welcome Message Joh, Seong Pil President, The Korean Association of Plastic Surgeons Honorable members! We went through a lot of hardships last year. There were several issues that tightened its grip around our throat, such as imposing a value-added tax on aesthetic plastic surgeries, enforcing the 40-hour work week, passing the Bill on Malpractice-related Damage Relief and Medical Dispute Resolution. In addition to the economic uncertainty, the areas of specialty become ambiguous and the number of patients have continuously dropped. As a head of the group, I m deeply sorry that our members may be depressed and disconsolate. But time glided on and spring comes round. We have a meeting ahead where members could socialized and scholarly exchanges. As an international meeting the scale expanded and the content enriched. I hope the meeting could pave the way for establishing a solid foothold. Besides, Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Expo is held. It might be an effective method of promoting plastic surgeries. Also it will be an opportunity to generate publicity for us by providing The public with informations that plastic surgeons are the experts who lead the aesthetic field.
