We improved the accuracy by applying the clock multiplication and the correction of error gradient. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method, we implemented a prototype board and performed experiments. As a result, we implemented the optical delay simulator with resolution less than 0.7m in measuring distance 60km and a standard deviation of 0.041m. The PRF code detection logic and generation logic have a stability less than 0.03% and 0.08% compared to the NATO standard, respectively. Key Words : Range simulator, Laser range finder, Laser target designator, PRF 1. 서론레이저광은방향성이매우좋기때문에레이저거리측정기로민수및군사용으로많이사용되고있다. 특히군사용으로사용하는분야로는정밀유도탄과정밀타격을위한레이저표적지시기와레이저거리측정기이다. 레이저거리측정기는시간펄스폭이매우짧은레이저광을표적에보내고표적표면에서반사되어되돌아올때까지시간을측정하여거리를산출하게된다 [1]. 이러한거리측정기는근적외선영역의 Nd:YAG 레이저를이용하여사용하고있다. 또한최근에는훈련시병사의시각보호를목적으로 1.54μm대역의라만이동레이저또는 Erbium 레이저를사용하고있다 [2]. 일반적으로무기체계의사격통제에사용되는레이저거리측정기는 10Hz에서작동하고있으며대공사격통제용으로사용가능한레이저거리측정기는 20Hz로작동한다 [3]. 최대측정거리는포병용으로는 10km, 항공용으로는 20km이다. 최근에는측정거리가 40km이상가능한제품도요구되고있다 [3]. 장거리레이저거리측정기의주요성능은거리정확도, 거리분해능과최대거리측정능력이다. 거리정확도를측정방법으로는기선장을이용하거나실거리를측정하는방법으로사용되고있 Corresponding Author : Dept. of Electronics and Radio Engineering, Kyung Hee University, Korea ypkim@khu.ac.kr * Dept. of Electronics and Radio Engineering, Kyung Hee University, Korea and R&D Center, Allimsystem Co.,Ltd., Korea Received : March 25, 2015; Accepted : June 30, 2015 다. 그러나국내기선장은한국표준과학연구원에서보유하고있지만 280m 이내로만측정이가능하여장거리레이저거리측정기의성능평가는불가하다 [4]. 그림 1은레이저거리측정기를평가하는방법으로제한적인거리성능평가만이가능하다. 미리설정된고정좌표만을측정하여실외에서최대수십km 영역을구간별측정하는것이불가하며우천시에도시험이불가하다. 최근실내에서사용가능한장거리용레이저거리측정기의교정용전자광학장비가개발되고있으나평가대상체의크기와렌즈크기에제한적인단점을갖고있다 [5]. 그림 1 거리성능평가의한계 Fig. 1 limitation of range performance evaluation 본논문에서는장거리용레이저거리측정기의최대거리 60km 전구간에서클럭오차기울기를보정하여 1m 이내의거리정확도를갖으며성능평가대상체의크기와광학계크기에의존하지않는광섬유연결방식을적용한광지연모사기를구현하였다. 또한레이저표적지시기의 PRF(pulse repetition frequency) 코드발생및수신검출성능을평가하기위한신호처리보드를구현하여평가하였다 Copyright c The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers This is an Open-Access article distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial License ( licenses/by-nc/3.0/)which permits unrestricted non-commercial use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.

Vol. 64, No. 7, JUL, 본론 2.1 광지연및거리모사구현 레이저거리측정기는레이저를조사하여표적으로부터반사되어돌아오는광비행시간 (time of flight, TOF) 을측정한다. 거리는빛의속도와시간의곱으로표현되므로측정거리 (R) = ( 빛의속도 (C) 측정시간 (T) )/ 2 로나타낼수있다. 진공에서빛의속도는 m/s 이다. 왕복거리 1m의분해능에해당되는시간은약 6.67 ns 에해당한다. 디지털신호처리를위해 6.67ns 마다발생되는펄스로가정하면약 150MHz의주파수에해당된다. 기준클럭 150MHz을높일경우광지연모사분해능을향상시킬수있으며 600MHz를사용할경우 0.25m 의분해능으로광지연모사가가능하다. 광지연및거리모사를위한시스템구성은그림 2와같다. 신호처리및제어를위한프로세서 (micro controller unit, MCU) 로는 ARM Cortex-M3를사용하였으며광지연을위한카운터는 CPLD(complex programmable logic device) 인 Xilinx사의 XC3S200A를사용하여구현하였다. 광검출기 (photo diode, PD) 에서입력된광신호는트랜스임피던스증폭기 (trans-impedance amplifier, TIA) 를이용하여광전변환후디지털로직이인식가능한 TTL 레벨로변환하여입력되며설정된일정시간에해당되는카운터값만큼지연후레이저다이오드드라이버를제어하여레이저를조사하게된다. 카운터를시작한다. 광지연모사값 (delay time) 은사용자가 MCU를통하여 CPLD 메모리공간에저장한다. 레이저펄스입력에따라증가되는카운터값과저장된모사거리값이일치할경우첫번째상승에지에서레이저펄스를발생한다. 또한레이저거리측정기가인식가능한펄스폭에해당하는카운터 (pulse width) 만큼지연후레이저펄스발생을멈추게된다. 카운터크기는 32비트로설계하여이론적으로는수백 km 이상의거리모사가가능하다. 그림 3 광지연로직타이밍도 Fig. 3 Optical delay logic timing chart 2.2 PRF 코드검출및발생 NATO 규격인오차 0.1ms 이내의 PRF 코드를분석하기위하여기준클럭 MHz로광지연 6.67ns 단위의펄스카운터를설계하였다 [7]. 그림 4와같이처리절차는트리거신호가입력될때마다저장된 PRF 코드값을 PRF Value 레지스터에저장하고동시에 Cortex-M3에인터럽트가발생되면제어프로그램에서병열데이터처리용 FSMC( flexible static memory controller) 버스를이용하여저장된데이터를가져가는방식이다. 그림 2 시스템블록다이어그램 Fig. 2 System block diagram 그림 3은광지연카운터구현을위한타이밍도이다. 대기굴절율 을적용하여계산하면 1m에해당되는주파수는 MHz이다 [6]. 입력클럭 (oscillator, OSC) 은가장근사한값을갖는 MHz를선택하였다. 저가형 CPLD 로직으로는 600MHz에해당하는기준클럭을생성할수가없으므로 2체배 (Double OSC) 된클럭과 180도위상이다른 2체배 (Double OSC_INV) 클럭을발생하였다. 각상승에지에서카운터를증가하여두개의카운터값을합하여 4체배클럭인약 600MHz를기준으로카운터가능한로직을구현하였다 MHz의각상승에지에서카운터가시작된다. 레이저펄스가입력되면카운터값을래치및리셋하며 1클럭경과후 그림 4 PRF 카운터로직인터페이스 Fig. 4 PRF counter logic interface 카운터내부에서사용되는신호및발생타이밍은그림 5와같다. 수신성능및정밀도를고려하여 MHz의기준클럭을사용하였다. 트리거신호가입력되면클럭기준상승에지지점에서래치하고현재 CNT값 (n) 을저장및리셋하여 CNT값을증가시킨다. 트리거가입력되면 MCU에서인식가능한인터럽트신호를발생하여전달한다. MCU가인식가능한펄스간격에맞게일정유지시간이필요하여약 1.5ms 동안유지후 INT 신호를하강시켰다. MCU에인터럽트가입력되면인터럽트서비스루틴함수가 장거리레이저거리측정기및레이저표적지시기성능평가를위한모사기구현 1027

3 전기학회논문지 64 권 7 호 2015 년 7 월 호출되어 FMSC 버스를이용하여 CPLD내레지스터영역에서 PRF Code값을읽어신호처리한다. (photo diode) 로는성능평가용시료의출력이입사된다. 광지연모사는 1570nm의광섬유형 LD(laser diode) 와 1064nm의광섬유형 LD를적용하였으며사용자선택에따라선택가능한구조로설계하였다. 그림 5 PRF 카운터타이밍 Fig. 5 PRF counter timing chart MCU와 CPLD간의데이터버스는 16비트버스로구현하였으며 CPLD 레지스터 (CNT, PRF Code) 는 32비트크기로설계하였다. 레이저표적지시기와연동된광검출기성능평가를위하여 PRF 코드발생로직을구현하였다. PRF 카운터를이용하여 MCU에서전송된 PRF code 값을 CPLD 레지스터에저장한후발생명령에따라 OSC 상승에지기준으로레이저를조사하고일정시간동안유지후정지하며 PRF code 값과일치하면또다시레이저를조사를반복하여구현하였다. 2.3 광신호증폭및레이저신호발생레이저표적지시기에서는 1064nm의중심파장을갖는레이저를사용하며레이저거리측정기는 1064nm와 1570nm 대역의레이저를사용하고있다. 모사기에입사되는광신호를검출하기위하여 800nm~1700nm 범위에서검출이가능한광섬유가장착된 InGaAs형포토다이오드를사용하였다. 광전변환및증폭을위한트랜스임피던스증폭기 (trans-impedance amplifier, TIA) 회로를구현하였다. 증폭기는 1GHz의대역폭을갖는아날로그디바이스사의 AD8009를사용하였다. 증폭된신호를 CPLD가인식가능한레벨로변환하는비교기를적용하여디지털신호로변환하였다. 비교기 (comparator) 는광전변환레벨과기준전압 (reference voltage) 의차이를이용하여신호입력여부를판단한다. 레이저신호발생부는표적모의기평가를위하여중심파장 1064nm를갖는 Wave Spectrum사의 WSLP m 레이저다이오드를사용하고레이저거리측정기평가를위하여중심파장 1570nm을갖는 WSLP m 레이저다이오드를적용하여설계하였다. 두제품모두광섬유연결형레이저다이오드로써측정대상체의크기와렌즈크기에무관하게평가가가능한장점을갖는다. 레이저다이오드구동은고속스위칭이가능한 Avalench TR인 ZETEX 사의 FMMT417을사용하였으며펄스폭제어를위하여 PFN(pulse forming network) 회로를구현하였다. 발생레이저펄스폭은 20ns 전후로설계제작하였다. 그림 6은제작된보드형상을보여주며광검출기용 PD 그림 6 거리모사기보드외형 Fig. 6 Appearance of range simulator board 2.4 평가광지연모사기의성능을평가하기위하여그림 7과같은평가시스템을구성하였다. 레이저는 1540nm의중심파장을갖는 NEC사 LX3200를사용하였으며 1x2의 50:50 비율을갖는광분배기를통하여광지연모사기의 PD와기준광검출기 (DeT 1) 에입사하였다. 광지연모사기의 PD에입사된광은광전변환및비교기를통하여디지털트리거신호를발생하게되고 MCU 와 CPLD에서설정거리에해당되는시간을지연후레이저다이오드를구동하여기준광검출기 (DeT 2) 에입사하였다. 두개의기준광검출기의시간차이를측정하여모사거리로환산하였다. 기준광검출기는 Thorlabs사의 EDT01CFC 광검출기를사용하였으며검출기간의시간차는범용카운터 (universal counter, UC)) 인 Agilent사의 53132A를사용하여측정하였다. 그림 7 평가시스템구성도 Fig. 7 System diagram for evaluation 1028

Vol. 64, No. 7, JUL, 2015 그림 8은광지연모사기의거리설정에따른오차를보여준다. 최대모사거리 60km에서적용된클럭과대기중빛의속도의클럭오차는약 3m로계산되었다. 측정오차는 10m 부근에서초기 4.2m 옵셋값을갖으며 60km 지점에서는약 1m의옵셋을갖고있음을보여준다. 실측된데이터의기울기와옵셋을적용하여 2km 단위로기울기를보정하였으며모사기신호처리보드에보정수식을적용하여 60km 범위에서 0.7m 이하의오차로구현되었다. 이때측정구간에서발생된표준편차는 0.041m로측정되었다. 그림 8 모사거리와측정오차 Fig. 8 Simulation range and measurement error PRF 코드수신성능을검토하기위해 0.3ns의 PRF 오차를갖는레이저를사용하였다. 표 2는레이저발생주기에따른검출주기와검출오차를보여준다. 검출확률 100%, 50개의샘플데이터를측정하였을때검출오차는최대 25ns로측정되었다. 표 2 PRF 수신오차 Table 2 PRF repetition and laser output error 레이저발생주기 (ms) 검출주기 (ms) 검출오차 (ns) Standard Deviation 레이저 PRF 발생주기오차는 Thorlabs사의 EDT01CFC광검출기와 Agilent사의 53132A 주파수측정기를이용하였으며발생오차는 78 ns 이내로측정되었다. 표 3 PRF 코드발생오차 Table 3 PRF code generation error PRF 설정주기 (ms) 발생오차 (ns) Standard Deviation 3. 결론본논문에서는장거리용레이저거리측정기의전구간에서거리정확도측정이가능한광지연모사기를구현하였다. 또한레이저표적지시기에서사용되는 PRF 코드발생및수신성능을평가하기위한신호처리보드를구현하여평가하였다. 광지연모사기는 MHz의신호를 2체배및반전신호를이용하여 4배의분해능을갖는로직으로구현하였다. 또한기준클럭과대기중빛의속도의오차를산출하여선형기울기및옵셋을갖는수식을적용하였으며최대 60km범위에서 0.7m의분해능을갖는광지연모사기를구현하였다. 표준편차는 0.041m로측정되어장거리용레이저거리측정기의성능을평가하는데적합함을확인하였다. PRF 코드의수신부는기준클럭을이용하여주파수카운터를구현하였으며수신분해능은 125ms에서오차 25ns로측정되어 PRF 코드오차규격 0.1ms 대비 0.03% 이내오차를확인하였다. PRF 코드발생오차는 125ms에서 78ns의오차로규격 0.1ms 대비 0.08% 로 NATO 규격을만족함을확인하였다. 향후레이저거리측정기의다목적성능평가를위하여다중표적모사, 근접표적모사기능및대기영향과거리에따른레이저흡수율을포함한모사기능에대한연구가필요할것으로판단된다.
