Adjunct Professor of Old Testament Contacts: hgk90@hotmail.com 수업일정 : 8 월 월 16 일 ( 5 회에걸친월요집중수업포함 ) Orientation Week (8/18-23), 5 Mondays (8/24-9/28; 9AM- 7PM) 1. Course Description ( 수업개요 ) This class will add general understanding on the Old Testament. In particular, through the study of the main idea and the general introduction to each book of the Old Testament, students will gain a bigger picture. 이수업은학생들로하여금구약성경전반에대한이해를높이는데 초점을맞춘다. 특별히구약성경의큰흐름과이슈를이해하고, 구약각 권의서론적연구를통해, 구약성경에대한큰그림을그리고, 구약 성경을즐길수있는방법을찾는다. 2. Course Purpose ( 수업목표 ) This course will be introducing big ideas of the Old Testament through narrative, history, poetry and prophecy. Through this class, each student will learn - General historical and cultural background of the Old Testament - Literary features of each book of the Old Testament and as a whole. 1

2 - To describe a big picture of the Old Testament. - To understand some important issues of the Old Testament. 이수업을통해서학생들은구약성경에대한개관적인연구를진행하고구약성경이가지고있는역사적, 문화적, 문학적배경을이해하고, 구약성경전체에대한큰그림을그릴수있을뿐만아니라, 구약각권에대한서론적인연구를더함으로구약의각권이가지고있는일반적인배경지식을습득하게될것이다. 이과정을통해학생들은각자구약성경을관통하는주요한이슈들을이해하고, 그빛안에서구약성경을효과적으로읽어가는법을배울것이다. 3. Course Requirements 1) Class Attendance/Participation i. Since this is an intensive class, attendance is very important. This class is only gathering five times on Mondays. Therefore, if students miss any day of class without special reason, they will fail- No Exceptions. 25% of the total grade. 이수업은 5 번에걸쳐서진행하는집중수업이기때문에학생들에게있어서가장기본적이고중요한것은매수업시간에참석하는것이다. 만일특별한사유없이하루라도온종일수업을빠질경우학점을받지못한다. 전체학점의 25% 2) Reading Assignments i. Students are to read the textbook and submit a reflection paper that is due on one week after the last day of class (no more than 1,000 words). 25% for reading and 10% for the reflection. 2

3 주어진필독서는각수업에맞추어서읽어야하고, 책을읽고마지막수업다음주간까지읽었는지여부와독후감을제출한다. 독후감은 1000 글자내외로작성한다. 전체학점의 30% 인데책을읽은여부가 20%, 독후감이 10%. 3) Presentation i. Students are to summarize one of the OT books from the textbook, submit it, and present it at a class. 학생들은구약성경의각책들중한권을선택하여주교재에서그책에대해기록한장을적절하게요약, 발표해야한다. ii. The length of the report is in three pages and the presentation should not be over five minutes (Font: 11 point, Line spacing: 150, Layout 1-inch) 요약보고서의길이는 3 페이지를넘지않는것이좋고 ( 글자크기 11, 줄간격 150, 용지는좌우상하각 1 인치여백 ), 발표또한 5 분을넘기지않아야한다. iii. 20% of total grade 4) Final Exam i. The final exam will be held on the very last week. All the questions will be given from the study guide, which will be distributed in the second class. 학기말시험은두번째수업시간에나누게될예상문제들안에서만출제될것이다. ii. 25% of total grade 5) Bonus 3

4 i. 학생들은구약성경의일부분을읽음으로일정한보너스를 획득할수있다. 5% 까지가능하며, 오경, 역사서, 선지저, 시가서중에한부분을선택하여읽으면된다. 4. Grading 1) Attendance: 25% 수업참여 2) Reading the text book and writing a reflection 필독서읽기및독후감 35% 3) Paper: 20% 주제페이퍼및토의 20 점 4) Final exam: 25% 기말시험 25 점 5) Bonus: Students may attain extra points by reading one of the following from the Old Testament (Pentateuch, Historical Books, Poetic Books, or Prophetic Books). 5% The following number scale will be using all numeric averages will be rounded to the nearest whole number!! 5 개인적으로긴급한사정, 질병등의사유로주간공부일정에참여할수없는경우반드시지도교수의허락을얻어야한다. 2) Students should maintain a grade percentage of 80%. If lower than 80%, students may need to contact their professor in order to gain better understanding of the material. If there is a constant failure to meet the minimum-passing grade, there may be a consideration of dropping of the student. 수업의 80% 까지는허락하에학점에지장을받지않으나, 80% 이하로수업에임할경우는중대한문제가발생할수있다. 3) Students should submit all assignments on moodle. The Instructor will announce all the requirements, updated news, class activities, and even grading by using moodle. So, each student is responsible for checking moodle in weekly base. 학생들은모든과제물과시험, 수업과관련된활동은무들을통해서제출해야한다. 교수는학생들에게필요한모든것들 ( 공지, 변경사항, 수업일정, 학점등 ) 을무들을통해서알릴것이기때문에이모든일들에대해학생들은매주무들에접속하고체크해야할책임이있다. 6. 9 personal or browsing the Internet are prohibited. 노트북은강의필기를위해서만사용되어야한다. 수업시간에이메일확인이나인터넷사용은금지된다. 4) Do not dominate other student's opportunities to learn by asking too many questions. 다른학생들이수업에참여를방해할정도로수업시간을독점해서는안된다. 5) Respect your professor and be polite towards other students. 교수님과동료학생들을예의를가지고대한다. 6) Students should address faculty as "Professor, "Dr.," or "Pastor" 교수를호칭할때, 교수님, 박사님, 혹은 목사님 으로칭한다. 7) Participate in class discussions and show much effort towards academic success. 토론에적극적으로참여하고, 배움에대한진지한열정이있어야한다. 8) All teaching sites and class periods (from the class start to the class end for the day) are considered smoke-free and alcohol-free.
