(담당자: 김민주, mjkim33@adt.co.kr) AIG Korea In April, AIG Korea launched a Make a Better Tomorrow campaign that created volunteer opportunities for all employees to participate for a month in relays. From April 23 to May 7, AIG Korea employees participated in a volunteer work by painting walls and sidewalks in an underdeveloped village in Joongrim-dong, Seoul. From May 6 to May 15, employees either participated in hands-on work to improve living conditions of Namsanwon orphanage or planted trees in the AIG enclosure at Worldcup Park located in Sangam-dong, Seoul. Starting with these volunteer works focused on the Seoul area, AIG Korea expanded it into a nationwide campaign. More than 413 employees and 109 agents around the country took part in total of 13 volunteer activities. On June 18, 2013, Dongcheon held a lunchtime charity concert to commemorate its 4th anniversary. The Altogether concert was attended by more than 200 people and featured musical performances from a diverse group of amateurs and professional singers and musicians. Highlights included vocal performances by a children s choir from the School of Global Sarang and by foreign residents from Mongolia, Uzbekistan and Indonesia. Funds raised through the concert will be used to support children of migrant workers and multicultural families in Korea. The annual event gives the family members the opportunity to visit the company and learn about Baxter s sustainability programs as well as other efforts Baxter is making to fulfill its role as a responsible corporate citizen. At this year's event, participants visited the Korean Red Cross Community Center, where Baxter employees volunteer every month. Another program was Cook with Love, during which the family members baked bread to be donated to children from single-parent families and to others in need in the local community. Moreover, family members also raised funds to help children with rare diseases through such activities as Baxter Wish Tree and Good Will Photo. Citibank Korea Citibank Korea (CKI) had a signing ceremony for Think Money financial education through learning and experience with National YWCA of Korea at YWCA bldg. in Myeongdong on April 16 and delivered $400,000 of Citi Foundation fund. Think Money has been jointly run by CKI and YWCA for eight years since 2006 with an aim to help teenagers have the right perception about finance and develop self-leadership. The program organized by CKI employees and YWCA has taken place at a variety of venues like branches, schools, etc. Since 2006, it has benefitted around 300,000 students through over 5,000 times sessions. In addition, two types of Think Money textbooks for students were approved as official textbooks by the Superintendent of Seoul. (Contact: Seong-Jae Lee, seongjae.lee@citi.com) 한국씨티은행 한국씨티은행은 한국YWCA연합회와 배우고 체험하는 금융교실-씽크머니 협약식 을 4월 16일 오전 명동소재 YWCA강당에서 개최하고, 씨티재단 후원금 미화 40만 달러를 전달했다. 올해 8주년을 맞 는 씽크머니 는 한국씨티은행이 한국YWCA연합회와 함께 청소년들을 대상으로 올바른 금융가치관 함양과 셀프리더십 개발을 목표로 하여 지난 2006년부터 운영하고 있는 금융교육 프로그램으로, 한 국씨티은행 직원과 YWCA를 통해 은행 영업점, 학교 등 다양한 장소에서 운영되고 있다. 씽크머니 프로그램은 2006년부터 현재까지 5천회 이상의 교육을 통해 30만여 명에게 금융교육을 제공했으며, 씽크머니 자체 교재 중 초등학교 고학년과 중학생들을 위한 `씽크머니 금융교실` 교재 2종이 서울특 별시교육감 인정교재로 선정되기도 하였다. (담당자: 이성재, seongjae.lee@citi.com) DuPont Korea On April 26, DuPont, the World leading science-based products and services company, participated in the "Seoul Forest Planting CSR activity" at the Seoul Forest located in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. This is the second CSR activity aimed at enhancing the environment of the Seoul Forest. 30 DuPont employees from various departments and their children have joined. DuPont employees cleaned the Seoul Forest and planted trees that included 100 winged spindles and 300 Kerrias around the tennis court under the guidance of the forest activity organizer to revitalize the forest. Employees and their children were very happy to make Seoul forest and park, the center of Seoul, clean while networking with employees from other sectors. (Contact: Emily Park, emily.park@dupont.com) 듀폰코리아 세계적 과학기업인 듀폰코리아는, 지난 4월 26일 서울시 광진구에 위치한 서울숲에서 서울숲 나무 심기 CSR 활동 에 참여하였다. 이번 나무 심기 행사는 2012년 서울숲 환경 정화 활동에 이은 듀폰 의 두 번째 환경 정화 활동이다. 다양한 부서에서 30여명의 듀폰 직원들과 직원 자녀들이 이번 활동 에 참여하였다. 듀폰 직원들은 서울숲을 정화하고 화살나무 100주, 황매화 300주를 서울숲 테니스 코트 주변에 식재하는 등의 활동으로 서울숲에 활력을 불어넣었다. 이번 활동에 참여한 직원들은 서 울의 중심인 서울숲과 공원 정화 활동에 참여하면서 타 부서의 직원들과도 교류할 수 있어서 큰 만 족감을 표현했다. 듀폰코리아는 서울숲 나무심기 활동 이외에도 월간 장애 아동시설 방문, 1사1촌 활 동, 해비타트 사랑의 집짓기, 울산 생명의 숲 활동 등 여러가지 사회 공헌 활동에 활발히 참여하고 있다. The program provides automobile-related universities or departments with vehicles for study, training programs and materials, enhanced tech trainings and field internships. Unlike other fieldoriented programs, Ford is offering leadership lectures from executives of Ford and its dealerships, and this will help ensure that the program provides differentiated, high-quality training. This year, Doowon Technical University College, Yeojoo Institute of Technology and Korea Polytechnic College will participate in the program, and on June 18, Ford held a signing ceremony with the deans and staffs from 3 colleges. As of June, over 87,000 citizens across the country gathered to buy and sell a variety of goods for a good cause while enjoying the atmosphere of Songdo, a true example of future city, with families and friends. Through these public efforts, more than KRW 15 million was raised this year to provide 25 kids-in-need with English classes with native speakers at an afterschool study center located in the old town of Incheon. On May 30, GE Healthcare announced to make an investment to expand GE Ultrasound Korea and held a ground-breaking ceremony in Seongnam City, Gyeonggi Province. GE Ultrasound Korea is GE s largest R&D and manufacturing facility for ultrasound technology, manufacturing 1/3 of GE Healthcare s ultrasound devices worldwide. More than 170 employees of GE Ultrasound Korea as well as the executives from GE Healthcare Asia Pacific and Women s Health Ultrasound for GE Healthcare participated to embark the milestone. Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas At the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas and InterContinental Seoul COEX, hoteliers are using their unique talents to serve the local community. Every month, hotel chefs provide free meals to children from low-income families at three different Community Child Centers. Children who have always wanted to try out gourmet dishes are not only able to enjoy hotel-quality meals, but also are they able to learn the chefs own recipes. In addition, they are served in a manner usually reserved for VIP hotel guests. In the future, hotel chefs will continue to serve the community in new ways by utilizing their professional skills and knowledge of fine dining and hospitality. Founded in 1885, it has grown into a global company with 168,000 employees serving customers in more than 150 countries. Every year, employees in Johnson Controls from all over the world form volunteer groups to support leadership development through social service or environmental stewardship and education. Over the last eight years, Johnson Controls Korea (JCK) has been actively volunteering: from caring for foreign workers to cleaning up Taean beach. This year, on June 1, about 70 JCK employees and their family members cleared rubbish at Seoul Forest and repainted the wooden chairs. JCK also donates regularly to charitable organizations as part of the company s commitment to give back to society. On May 7, McDonald s signed an agreement with Seoul Metropolitan Government and FC Seoul to hold youth soccer classes for the children of multicultural families. In addition, on May 11, the company also made an agreement with Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education and Busan I Park Sports on the school athletic activities. As part of Ronald McDonald Soccer Club since 2006, McDonald s continues to hold various soccer programs. It includes In-School Soccer Class, Soccer School with Dads, Soccer Coaching Program for Elementary School Teachers, and Special Weekend Activities with Multicultural Families. In particular, Soccer School with Dads, which has been introduced this year, offers systematic and effective skills to dads so that they can play with their children. The 2nd season continues until early-next year, offering opportunities to build IT capacity for the future. Meanwhile, on April 12, Together, Microsoft Korea s volunteer service club, went on a spring field trip to Lotte World with 50 children from Amsa Rehabilitation Center, a local community of children with disabilities. It was a rewarding experience since it left the children, who are not capable of going out by themselves, with the unforgettable memories. Besides, Microsoft is providing online IT Academy program featuring Microsoft Office products in seven schools for young North Korean refugees since this April. (담당자: 배진희, jinbae@microsoft.com) Novartis Korea Novartis Korea, the Korean subsidiary of the world s No.2 healthcare company, celebrated its 17th Novartis Community Partnership Day on June 3, when about 350 employees participated in volunteering activities at four disabled children education and elderly welfare facilities. This year, the activities included volunteering at the facilities, serving catering lunch for visually handicapped children, helping disabled children go a picnic together to a zoo and painting at the facilities. Novartis Community Partnership Day is an opportunity for all its employees to spend a working day volunteering in their community in commemoration of the founding of Novartis in 1996. It also gives the employees a chance to put into practice a core value of the company: caring for others. Samjong KPMG With a recent corporate agreement with Habitat Korea for talent-donation in March, 2013, Samjong KPMG expanded a range of CSR activities to improve a standard of living for vulnerable social groups. Currently, Samjong KPMG s Probono Volunteers, consisting of management and accounting professionals, are offering professional consulting services to Habitat Korea for their continuous development and growth in management. On May 24, about 20 employees volunteered in repairing and renovating houses for neighbors to improve the decrepit residential environment for multi-child families. In June, Probono Volunteers provided accounting and tax consulting services to social entrepreneurs, which would support managing their business efficiently. (담당자: 오원종, wonjongoh@kr.kpmg.com) Sanofi Pasteur Sanofi Pasteur, the vaccine division of Sanofi group, has been carrying out a CSR activity, Helping Hands campaign, since 2011. The goal of the Helping Hands is to make the nation healthier with free-vaccination to the neglected with a vision to vaccinate everyone in Korea. Every October, Sanofi Pasteur vaccinates the underprivileged with flu vaccines, and 7500 people have been vaccinated so far. As a part of the Helping Hands, Sanofi Pasteur vaccinated 500 adolescents from low-income family with Hep.A vaccines at Gumchun-gu office in Gumchun-gu on June 19. Employees also voluntarily participated in the event to pre check-up for vaccination and to give them souvenirs. Sanofi Pasteur will vaccinate the adolescents with booster shots in December this year. This event is held once a year (starting in 2012) to raise environmental awareness and encourage better understanding and environmental appreciation for younger generations. Twenty volunteers, including employees and their families, planted more than two hundred Winter Jasmine and Winged Spindle trees. As summer was fast approaching, organizers were worried it might be difficult for participants to complete the planting; however, all volunteers enthusiastically took part in the event and surprised event organizers by planting 200 trees in a day. Visa s 31 employees participated in this volunteer activity in which they made a total of 300 breads including nutritious rice bread and sausage bread, under the guidance of a professional baker, and packaged and delivered them to the less privileged such as children raised by grandparents, children who are heads of a family and so on. Visa s employees regularly engage in volunteer activities as well as CSR activities including the ones regarding sports, and they are also set to make an effort to build a warmer society through staff volunteer activities. (Contact: Hye-Jin Park, hypark@visa.com) 비자 코리아 글로벌 전자 결제 네트워크 회사인 비자의 임직원들이 지난 5월 23일, 적십자가 운영하는 나눔 봉사 센터에서 일일 제빵사가 되어 소외계층을 위한 나눔을 실천했다. 이날 봉사활동에 참여한 비자의 임 직원들은 전문 제빵사의 지도 아래 300개의 영양찰떡빵, 소시지빵 등을 직접 만들고 포장하여 인근 지역의 소년소녀가장, 조손부모 가정 등의 나눔이 필요한 가정에 전달했다. 비자는 스포츠를 통한 사 회공헌 활동 이외에도 임직원이 직접 참여하는 봉사활동을 진행해 나가고 있으며, 앞으로도 꾸준한 임직원 봉사활동을 통하여 좀 더 따뜻한 사회를 만들기 위한 노력을 지속해 나갈 예정이다.
