Organization of the violence group 'Il Jin Hwae': Emergence of juvenile delinquency Jiwon Chung Graduate student, Ehwa Woman's U. Dep. of Sociology Abstract Amidst concerns about the failure of Korean educational system, the issue of violence within the schools has become a hot issue. This paper assumes that there is a gang in schools called the "Il Jin hwae" standing at the center of such school violence, and attempts to look at the organization and consequences/damages of "Il jin hwae" hrough data collected by police through the 'school violence report' investigation and other investigations conducted by the student s guidance committee of a junior high school. With its organization, Il-Jin-hwae controls other students and bully them, acting as the highest level control group for school violence. In the information society, 'school violence' has emerged expanding the nation-wide networks of gang in schools through the internet community. However, the power of Il-Jin-hwae was somewhat subdued through the joint crackdown by police and prosecutors office, and enforcement of the special supervisory act.
