It is no longer to be seen the abundant snow covered with the fields, valleys and alleys so long, instead, the messengers of spring, the blooming magnolia and forsythia in the sunshining, tell us that the spring is around the corner. At this time of the year, Nexans Management Convention gathers all top managers spreading in the worldwide. This year, it was held in Barcelona with 180 executives from 40 countries for 3 days from 30th of March to 1st of April 2011. During the convention, Mr. F. Vincent, Chairman of our Group, requested to share the Nexans Values which is the symbol of our culture and the drive engine of growth with all our staffs. 07 responsibility for our actions. We conduct business in a safe and ethical manner, respecting the environment and supporting the communities in which we operate. Work Globally We recognize the primacy of the Group. We work together transversally, collaborating within and across organizational borders. We encourage openness, transparency, and the sharing of information and knowledge. Customer, People, Excellence, Action, Responsibility and Working Globally are important values. However, the reason why Customer and People positioned before other values is those two are more important than others. Customer is most important in this difficult and changing market environment and our growth and development are depending on the Customer. The prior mission of us is how to satisfy our customers. In order to achieve the customer satisfaction, the various programs such as Customer service, CRM(Customer Relation Management), Customer survey are implementing and will be implemented in Nexans in Korea. Moreover, the charter of customer orientation including vision, mission and commitment will be distributed to sales forces and managers. The importance of People cannot be emphasized enough because all the values are executed by People. When our competences make a great synergy effect, the total capability of company will be maximized. In this context, the Competency Model for employees and executives has been developed and deployed in the level of Nexans Group. Starting from the Management Competency Model, the various competency models including HR, Purchasing, R & D, Industry and Sales & Marketing are launched and these will be the main tools to develop our competencies. In Asia Pacific and Nexans in Korea as well, the developed competency models will be adapted and launched by an appropriate procedure. For your reference, Competency means the integrated capability through the knowledge from learning, know-how from experience and attitude from behavioral standards. Even though all of three (knowledge, know-how and attitude) are very important but the Attitude is the most important because the attitude decides how to act and all the result comes from the action. I will tell you the story showing how important the attitude is. One day, a prince of UK got lost his way during hunting in the mountain. On the wondering for hours, he found a shepherd who took care of a flock of sheep and asked him to show the way. However, the shepherd said I can t do that sir. I am a shepherd hired to take care of the sheep. I can t leave my dear sheep. The prince proposed to pay 3 times of salary what he was paid if he showed the way. The shepherd refused I can t do that sir. I can t betray my owner who hires me to take care of a flock of sheep only due to the money. Finally, the prince pointed a gun at him and threatened if you do not show the way, I will kill you The shepherd sighed and said You can t change my mind whatever you do, however, I will show the way verbally. Please go over the mountain 3 times and follow the valley West-ward and then you will find the road after 20 minutes. The prince had to go by himself to find the road but the behavior of shepherd was absolutely disgraceful. When the prince mounted the throne some years after, he thought of the faithful shepherd. The king recognize that he needs the man who is wise and has rich experience but the most he need is the man who is faithful and has full ownership of responsibility. And those who have the loyalty and trueheartedness are most rare. Thus, the king assigned the shepherd as the prime minister of the country. Yes, indeed. The attitude we need mostly in this time is the faithful loyalty and sense of responsibility. The competency is growing with the loyalty and responsibility combining of knowledge and know-how. When increased competencies pursue our values, our values will become the culture and basement of further development of company. Thus, the people who fulfill their assigned small duty with loyalty and responsibility will be promoted to undertake an important job. As a result of it, the abundant fruits will be shared. 09 07 1/4분기 정기 노사협의회 실시 (KD&NK) 2011년도 1/4분기 정기 노사협의회를 극동전선은 3월 17일에 진천 공장에서 실시하였고, 넥상스코리아는 3월 9일에 청원 본사에서 실시하였다. 이날 노사협의회에는 강인구 사장 등 회사측 위원과 노조위원장 등 근로자 측 위원이 참석하여 2011년 1/4분기 경영현황 및 향후 경영계획 등에 대한 설명과 함께 종합검진 실시 등 회사의 노사 현안들은 협의하였다. 05 외부강사 초빙교육 실시 (KD&NK) 극동전선과 넥상스코리아는 도전과 성취 그리고 열정 이 라는 주제로 2011년 3월 22일과 30일에 전 국가 대표 양궁 감독이며, 대한 양궁협회 서거원 전 무를 사내로 초청하여 교육을 실시하였다. 주요 교육내용으로는 삶의 5원칙을 강조 하 셨다. 삶의 5원칙으로는 <자신과의 무한경 쟁을 하라, 최악의 상황을 상상하며 미래를 위한 대비를 하라, 끊임없이 변화와 혁신하 라, 성공의 순간 위기를 느껴라, 뜨거운 열정을 가져라>는 내용이었다. 08 전사원 소방교육실시 (ND) 전 사원을 대상으로 매월 사외강사를 초청하는 교육시간에 음성소방서 홍보팀장을 초청하여 소방서의 중요업무 및 봄철 건조기 불조심에 대하여 강의를 했다. 생명 존중, 화재와 안전, 자연재해와 대응, 협조사항 등을 포괄적이면서도 구체적인 예를 가지고 재미있게 교육을 하였다. 06 제6회 청원군 노조협의회장기 볼링대회 (NK) 제6회 청원군 노동조합협의회장기 볼링대회가 2011년 4월 2일 청원군 오창읍에 소재한 오창 볼링센터에서 실시되었다. 이날 볼링대회는 넥상스코리아, 진로, 석수와 퓨리스, 아세아제지, 대한펄프, 대한제지, 삼화제지, 유니온, 유한양행, 에스엠알 풍정, 전주페이퍼, 한라스테폴, 녹십자등 13개사에서 노조간부 및 조합원, 가족 등 250여 명이 참석하여 단체전 및 개인전 경기를 실시하였다. 09 춘계 공동체 대회 실시 (NK) 넥상스코리아 노동조합 주관으로 2011년 2월 19일 청원공장에서 조합원 공동체 대회가 실시되었다. 이 날 대회에서는 단체 넘기, 단체 공 튀기기, 종이컵 제기차기, 단체 가위바위보, 단체 이구동성 등을 전 조합원이 참석한 가운데 실시하였다.
10 10 사업계획 보고 2011년 3월 15일 아시아태평양지역 총괄사장인 니콜라스 발라스 (Nicholas Ballas)씨를 비롯하여 아시아태평양 지역 부사장인 방상드살(Vincent Dessale), 킴시아 치아(Kim Seah Chia) 그리고 쿠마 힌고라니(Kumar Hingorani)가 한국을 방문하여 2011년 사업계획과 전략을 보고 받았다. 니콜라스 발라스씨는 한국에 있는 임직원들에게 어려운 환경에서도 좋은 실적을 낼 수 있게 격려를 아끼지 않았다. 11 13 제42기 극동전선 정기주주총회 제52기 넥상스코리아 정기주주총회 극동전선은 제42기 정기 주주총회를 2011년 3월 24일 진천 공장에서 실시되었다. 이날 주주총회는 의장인 강인구 대표이사의 사회로 진행되었으며 감사의 감사보고서와 대차대조표, 손익계산서 및 이익잉여금처분계산서 승인, 이사 선임, 이사 및 감사보수 한도액 승인 등 4건의 안건이 승인 되었다. 넥상스코리아 제52기 정기 주주총회가 2011년 3월 24일 넥상스코리아 청원 본사에서 실시되었다. 이날 주주총회는 의장인 강인구 대표이사의 사회로 진행되었으며 재무상태표, 손익계산서 및 이익잉여금처분계산서 승인, 이사 및 감사 선임, 이사 및 감사보수 한도액 승인 등 5건의 안건이 승인 되었다. 14 12 춘계 야유회 (ND) 제34년차 노동조합 정기총회(NK) 2011년 4월 25일, 넥상스대영에서 전사원 대상으로 춘계 야유회를 실시했다. 오전 시간은 전 사원과 간단하게 산책을 하고 오후에 공동체 의식을 공고히 하면서 레크레이션 및 행운권 추첨 등 다양한 이벤트가 마련되었다. 화창하고 따듯한 봄 날씨에 쌓인 피로와 스트레스를 마음껏 푸는 자리가 되었다. 넥상스코리아 노동조합 제33년차 정기총회가 2011년 2월 18일 청원 본사에서 실시되었다. 이날 정기총회에는 당사 전 조합원과 석우징 상무, 김동규 상무 및 공장 관리자, 전국금속노동조합연맹 정진일 부위원장과 상급단체, 지역, 업종 노조대표자들이 참석하여 노동조합 정기총회를 축하하였다.
