1 Journal of Educational Innovation Research 2019, Vol. 29, No. 1, pp DOI: : * Discussions on a Rapidly Changing Society and Early Childhood Safety Education: Focusing on Educational Ecosystem Purpose: This study aims at investigating various changes of education ecosystem in the rapidly changing society and exploring new directions for early childhood safety education. Method: To this end, we examined the complexity of the current era from the viewpoint of educational ecosystem through previous studies. Results: First, the meaning of safety in early childhood education should not be confined to a narrow frame. Through exploring the dynamic context of politics, society and economy macroscopically, it should be reconceptualized from a closed system to an open system. Second, safety education for young children must be focused on doing instead of knowing how to live a safe life. Third, early childhood safety education must be harmonized with ethical values that contribute to the community safety, based on the understanding of the living beings. Conclusion: This study provides significant implications for teachers, teacher educators, researchers, and administrators who must reconcile their teaching practices with the constraints imposed by safety systems in early childhood education.
