Central Baptist Theological Seminary prepares women and men to transform churches and communities by educating and forming them as Christian leaders who are biblically knowledgeable, theologically articulate, spiritually healthy, humanly sensitive and professionally competent. In this course we will begin to explore what it means to be formed as Christian leaders, transformed and ready to be a partner in transforming churches. This course seeks to provide a person-centered, integrative introduction to the vocation of professional or lay ministry. It is a significant part of the learner s orientation to seminary and to

Our primary agenda will seek to facilitate further understanding of ourselves as Christian disciples, human beings, and professional or lay ministers. 가르치고배우는활동들 Teaching-Learning Activities 본과정을이수하기위해서학생들은아래나열된모든과제를교수가만족할만한수준으로 완성해야한다. All of the following assignments must be completed to the satisfaction of the professor in order to pass this course. 1) 무들 (Moodle) 사용과오리엔테이션. 4 일집중수업전과후, 무들 (Moodle) 수업페이지에자신의과제를업로드하고, 과목과 관련된자료들을다운로드하게될것입니다. 또한과목에대한궁금증을풀기위해 3 월 9 일 ( 월 ) 에온라인오리엔테이션을갖겠습니다.

3 CBTS Online Moodle will be used for uploading and downloading documents, including all written assignments. It is requisite that learners utilize this online platform as directed. Class attendance and participation. Please come weekly, promptly, and ready. Class participation is expected to be respectful of others, balancing careful listening and thoughtful contributions related to the assigned readings and topics being discussed. Class sessions will include a variety of learning activities, including discussion of readings, professor presentations, videos, and skills practices. Material not in assigned readings will be included. Thus, class attendance and participation are very important and difficult to make up. Attendance policies in the Catalog will be followed Students are expected to attend all classes. A student may not miss more than 20% of a course nor the first day of an intensive and still expect to pass. When absolutely necessary, class absences not exceeding 20% of the required number of class periods for any course, when excused by the professor, will not detract from the student s standing. However, a student who is absent frequently cannot expect to earn the highest grades. Every effort should be made for perfect attendance. Each learner is to write his or her spiritual autobiography. Guidelines for its content are included at the end of the syllabus. This paper will be due on March 20.

4 4) 영적훈련 / 실습및 8 주영성일지 Spiritual Disciplines/Practices and Journal ( 무들제출일 : 매주금요일자정까지 ) 학생들은매일최소 30 분의시간을기도, 묵상, 성경읽기, 침묵을하는데할애하기로 약속한다. 이런개인훈련 / 실습을실천하는것은매우중요하며, 목회사역을위한영성 개발에필수적이다. 소그룹활동중이부분을서로점검할것이다. 각각의학생들은포스터, 배스, 나우웬의책들로부터영성계발 / 실습을실행할것이다. 학생들은 3 월 2 일주간부터 4 월 24 일주간까지 8 주간동안교재에나온영성훈련주제를 매주한가지이상씩택하여 ( 예, 묵상, 기도, 복종, 섬김, 사랑등 ) 을실습하고, 자신의 경험을반성하고평가하는일지를매주기록하여제출할것이다. 일지는한페이지로 제한되고, 영적훈련 / 실습이진행되는동안학습자가무엇을경험했는지 ( 무엇이 느껴졌고, 생각되었으며, 어떻게그경험이자신을더좋게또는더안좋게변화시켰는지, 어떻게자신이하나님과친밀함을느꼈는지또는느끼지못했는지등 ) 를묘사할것이다. 교수가일지들을읽을것이지만, 점수매겨지지는않을것이다. 그러나, 총 8 번의일지들은 이과목을마치기위해반드시제출되어야한다. ( 영적일지에대한양식은강의계획서 마지막을참조하라.) 각장을미리읽고그내용에대한훈련 / 실습을시도하고실행하라. 예배는기독교사역자들의삶과형성과정에필수이다. 첫날수업은교수의진행으로 예배와함께시작되며, 둘째와셋째그리고마지막날수업은학생들의참여로예배가 준비된다. 수업에참여하는모든학생들은세차례의예배중하나에기도, 성경봉독, 찬양 등의역할로참여할것이다. ( 원하는부분을선택할수있도록, 싸인업종이가첫째날 마지막수업에돌아갈것이다.) 수업시간외의공예배또한영성형성의중요한부분이다. 자신의일반적영성개발이외에매주적어도한번씩공예배에참여하는것을권장한다. Each learner is to covenant to spend a minimum of 30 minutes in daily prayer, meditation, devotional Scripture reading, and silence throughout the term. The importance of establishing this personal discipline/practice cannot be overemphasized. It is essential for spiritual formation for ministry. Learners will be asked to covenant this with their peer group. As part of this, each learner will examine and evaluate one or more spiritual discipline/practices and practice them per week from the Foster, Bass, and Nouwen. Then each one will submit, weekly to the Group Guide, a journal entry reflecting on and evaluating the experience. The journal entry should be limited to one page per one spiritual discipline/practice and will describe what the learner experienced (what was felt, thought, how the experience changed you for better or worse, how you did or did not experience intimacy with God, etc.) as the discipline/practice was practiced. Journal entries will be read but not graded by the Guide or professor. However, all 8 journal entries are required for completing this course. Read the chapter early in the week and begin experimenting and practicing that discipline/practice during the week. Worship is a vital element in the life and formation of a Christian minister. Utilizing the Worshipful Work concept, each weekend class session will be structured as an experience of worship. Class members will participate in worship leadership, choosing a reading, leading prayers, and perhaps a hymn, chant, or praise song. (A sign-up sheet will be provided in the first week of class.) Corporate worship outside of class time also is an important part of spiritual formation. Learners are urged to join in corporate worship at least once a week, beyond one s

5 usual practice. Seminary chapel is an ideal opportunity. Reflections on corporate worship should be part of one s final paper (see below). 5) 지정된읽을거리들과독서보고서 (3/13, 3/20, 3/27 까지 ) 학생들은수업시간전에모든읽을거리들을읽고수업시간에토론할준비가되어있어야 합니다. 지정된읽을거리에대한이해와완수는독서보고서로증명될것입니다. 필독교재 리차드포스터 (3/13 까지 ), 도로시배스 (3/20 까지 ), 헨리나우웬 (3/27 까지 ) 의책들을읽고, 자신이책들을통해배운점을정리한독서보고서 ( 책한권당 2 페이지 ) 를서식을 이용하여정리하라. 독서보고서를지정된날까지무들에업로드하시기바랍니다. 6) 학습자프로파일 Learner Profile (MBTI 검사, 3/20 까지온라인으로 ) 과성찰문 (4/10 까지 ) 학생개개인은자신을평가하고이해하는데도움을받기위해마이어 - 브릭스성격유형 검사 (MBTI) 를온라인으로받게될것이다. 자격증을소지한검사관이 MBTI 를실행할 것이고, 학생들이얻은결과를해석하기위해강의중일부분을인도할수있다. ( 자세한 안내와링크는무들을참조하라 ). 이후학생들은자신의검사결과를돌아보는인성검사 성찰문을첨부한다. 검사비용은 $30 안팎이될것이고, 이것에대한추가적인지도는 수업시간에제공될것이다. 인성검사 (MBTI) 에대한성찰문 (4/10 까지 ) 은수업시간에시행한자신의 MBTI 에대한 결과를주의깊게살펴보고, 자신의인성에대해성찰하는페이퍼를단일줄간격으로 2 페이지내로정리하여무들에제출하라. The Myers-Briggs Types Indicator (MBTI) will be utilized in this course as an aid in selfassessment and self-understanding. A licensed person will administer the MBTI and then lead a group session that will assist learners in interpreting their inventory. There will be an extra fee for this service around $30. Further guidance on this will be provided on Moodle. Each learner will write a critical reflection (2 pages single-spaced) on his/her result of MBTI test. The due date is on April 10. 7) 최종통합적성찰문 Final Integrative Reflection Paper (4/24 까지 ) 이과제는첫날제출한영적자서전의부록처럼수업시간을통해배우고훈련한내용들을 통합하여다시쓰는것과같다. 최종통합적성찰문은지금까지읽었던모든것들과 MBTI 결과, 예배경험, 소그룹경험, 지금까지했던영적훈련 / 실습에대한모든내용을 포함하며, 소명받은사역자로서의정체성과자신에대한성찰등을추가한다. 단일줄 간격으로 3 페이지로작성하라. The final will be a written appendix to the spiritual autobiography, consisting of personal reflections on the readings, the Myers-Briggs inventory, corporate worship, small group experience, the practice of disciplines/practices and the learner s growing identity as a vocational minister. (3 pages, single-spaced). This is due on March 20. 8) 개인적면담시간들 Personal Conferences

The professor will meet with each learner for an individual conference after he/she has submitted the spiritual autobiography, completed the MBTI, and had the class session of group interpretation. Formation for Christian Ministry is a Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (Pass/Fail) course. You are required to complete all of the assignments in a satisfactory and timely manner in order to pass the course. Of course, it is expected that your written assignments and oral participation reflect master s level competency. This course has many small assignments. Students are well advised to keep current with the assignments and to submit them on the dates indicated. A grade of S (Satisfactory) designates: Work that is completed, on time, and shows good effort. All of the above assignments completed.
