2 2 Bible Course Title: Bible Teacher: Nick Teacher Textbook and Supplemental Resources: The Bible Bible Truths: Learning From the Life of Christ General Course Goals: Students will immerse themselves in all things Jesus as they study his character, his example, his major experiences, his major teachings, his miracles, and his parables. The primary objective of this course is to know Christ more and to become like Him. He will be the Teacher! Students will demonstrate their learning via exams, projects, activities, and in-class discussions. The reason for the delay in distributing complete details is that student input may be used to complete the design of this project. To glorify God, especially for His created order in mathematics. 2. To develop thinking and reasoning skills. 3. To provide general knowledge of basic mathematical concepts including number systems, operations, geometry, and functions. 4. To develop problem-solving abilities. 5. To develop speed and accuracy in computation. 6. To promote an interest in and an enjoyment of mathematics. 7. To enhance the Christian life (prepare students for Christian service). Specific Objectives: All students are expected to achieve the Algebra I standards. When planning for instruction, consideration will be given to the sequential development of concepts and skills by using concrete materials to assist students in making the transition from the arithmetic to the symbolic. Students should be helped to make connections and build relationships between algebra and arithmetic, geometry, and probability and statistics. Connections also should be made to other subject areas through practical applications. This approach to teaching algebra should help students attach meaning to the abstract concepts of algebra. These standards require students to use algebra as a tool for representing and solving a variety of practical problems. Each team consists of 2 students. Two teams could be combined by teacher s decision sometimes. - After certain quizzes or tests, each team will fully study their test materials and they should present the problems in class. - Presenting teams and problems would be chosen randomly. - Other students should participate during the presentation by asking lots of meaningful questions. - After certain topics or chapters, the teams should present the summarizing lectures. Goals and Objectives General Course Goals: Earth Science examines how our physical world and universe operates. This semester students will learn and examine in detail the Earth and its variable composition, Geology, Tectonics and its effects, and these topics will be further related to how it all affects the human race and God s overall plan of creation. Specific Objectives: Examine the Earth s composition and its constant changes, and how each part operates individually and in conjunction with one another. In addition, an in-depth study of Geology will lead the way into further understanding how dynamic our Earth really is, and how God put together our Earth according to his perfect will. On a presentation board, students will be required to correctly label, classify, and briefly describe each rocky material they find, in addition to writing a 1-2 page essay describing their experience, what they learned about the earth s surface composition in the area they searched for rocks, and explain the essentials of the Earth s composition.
