조사연구 주제어 손자녀돌봄 돌봄의종단적유형 삶의만족도 가족관계만족도 This study aims to investigate the longitudinal effects of patterns of grandparenting role on grandparents' life satisfaction and family relationship satisfaction. We employed data from the Korean Retirement and Income Study and the first, second, third, and fourth waves of data were utilized. In this study grandparents taking care of grandchildren were grouped into four categories indicating duration of care for their grandchildren-those who were continuously raising a grandchild; those who stopped raising a grandchild; those who began to raising a grandchild; those who were not raising a grandchild at all. The results show that those who stopped raising a grandchild were lower levels of life-satisfaction compared with those who were not raising a grandchild at all. Also, those who began to raising a grandchild were higher levels of family-relationship-satisfaction compared with those who were not raising a grandchild. The significant group effects were only discovered among grandparents under 65 and grandmothers who stopped raising a grandchild showed lower level of life satisfaction. We discuss research and practice implications on the grandparenting roles for grandparents' healthy life.
