1 논문 13-38B 한국통신학회논문지 '13-09 Vol.38B No.09 Quasi Möbius Strip과 Via-Hole 구조를응용한선로결합현상의완화및소형화설계 김미정, 박성균 *, 노승환 ** Reduced Electrical Coupling Effect and Miniaturized Antenna Using Quasi Möbius Strip with Via-Hole Mi Jung Kim, Seong Gyoon Park *, Soong Hwan Ro ** 요 약 RF소자의소형화기법으로는헤리컬구조를적용하는방법, Meta Material을사용하는방법및적층구조를적용하는방법등여러방법들이적용되고있다. 그러나헤리컬구조는한번의원주의회전이있을때마다공진주파수가생김에따라단일공진주파수특성을가지는 RF회로의소형화기법에는맞지않으며, Meta Material과적층구조를적용하는방법들은구조가복잡하며비용이많이드는단점이있다. 또한, 3차원구조의기본적인뫼비우스스트립을활용한논문과뫼비우스스트립의특성을활용한평판형구조의논문이제안되었으나완전한평판형구조가아니고, 선로결합효과 (coupling effect) 현상의문제점이있었다. 따라서본논문은기존 Möbius Strip과위상동형인 Quasi Möbius Strip과 via hole구조를응용함으로써, RF회로의소형화와선로결합효과를완화한안테나를제시하였다. 본논문의시뮬레이션결과에의하면, 2.4GHz의공진주파수일때, 기존의링안테나와대비하여물리적원주의길이는 1/3배로소형화되었다. 그리고기존의헤리컬안테나의다중공진특성이아니라단일주파수에서의공진특성을보인다. 또한, 2.4GHz의공진주파수근처에서선로결합효과현상이거의발생하지않았다. Key Words : Möbius Strip, Quasi Möbius Strip, Miniaturization, Coupling Effect, via hole ABSTRACT Minimization techniques are adaptations of Helical structure, Meta material, multi-layer structure etc. But, Helical structure is not suited to minimization technique of RF circuit having single resonant frequency. Because it generate resonant frequency following as rotation of circumference. Meta material and multi layer structure have weakness of expenditure and complex structure. In addition, conventional three dimensional Möbius Strip and planar Möbius Strip are not two dimensional planar Möbius Strip that has weakness of electrical coupling effect. Therefore, in this paper, we proposed miniaturized and reduced electrical coupling effect antenna by adaptation of Quasi Möbius Strip that topology is same as three dimensional Möbius Strip with Via-Hole structure. According to the simulation result, physical circumferential length is 1/3 minimized compared with conventional ring antenna under the same resonant frequency. A One-sided surface that is constructed from a rectangle by holding one end fixed, rotating the opposite end through 180, and applying it to the first end. [1] Möbius Strip은한개의면을가지고있다. Möbius Strip은원통과유사하지만, 일반적인표면이라기보다는경계를가진표면이다. 그리고 Möbius Strip은 3차원의닫힌공간이아니며, 2차원의열린공간이다. 뫼비우스스트립은 inner space와 outer space가 180 의위상차를가지고있다. 즉, inner space와 outer space 가분리된공간이아닌연결되어있는 open space의특성을가진다. Möbius Strip의이러한특성을활용하여, 안테나및오실레이터, 공진기등의 RF수동소자들이소형화될수있다. 따라서 Möbius Strip은원주를따라잘랐을때, 두개의스트립으로분리되는것이아니라, 원주의길이가자르기전의 2배가되는하나의스트립이되는특성이있다. Möbius Strip을원주를따라서여러번자르면, 예상밖의결과를가져오는데, 뫼비우스스트립이 1번꼬여져 (twisted) 있을때에는다음과같은식으로유도할수있다. 만약에, 원주를따라서자르는횟수 N 이 0이라면, cos cos for sin cos for where s [-ω,ω], t [0,2π], R=the radius of the Möbius Strip, N=Number of cuts of the Möbius Strip (1) (2) 식 1의 cos(t) 항과식 2의 sin(t) 항은 180 의위상차이를발생시킨다. 그러므로함수 M(t, s) 는한쪽면의끝이고정되어있고, 180 회전하여반대면에서만나는것을나타낸다. Fig. 2에서와같이두개의링이연결된부분에서의 3차원의연결브리지 (bridge) 는선로결합효과 (coupling effect) 현상의원인이되어단일공진주파수특성을갖는 RF회로에적용시키는것에적합하지않았다. 또한기존에제안된변형된평판형 Möbius Strip 은완벽한 2차원의구조가아닌, 3차원구조로 MMIC등의집적화된회로에적용하는것에한계가있었다. 따라서본논문에서는기존 Möbius Strip의문제점을해결한완벽한 2차원구조의 Quasi Möbius Strip와 via hole구조를제시함으로써선로결합효과의문제를해결하고, 집적화된 RF회로에완벽하게적용할수있는소형화된구조를제시한다. 함수 M(t,s) 에서 cos(t) 항과 sin(t) 항의위상차가스트립의반지름의길이를결정한다. 스트립의반지름의길이는함수 M(t,s) 에서 cos(t) 항과 sin(t) 항의위상차가 0 에서 180 의범위에서 180 일때와 0 일때가가장크다. 즉, Möbius Strip 은스트립의길이가동일할때, inner space와 outer space가 180 의위상차를가질때원주가최대가된다. 만약에, 원주를따라자르는횟수 (N) 가 3이라면, Möbius Strip은 3개로분리되고, 세개의스트립은같은반지름을갖는다. 그러므로 Möbius Strip(N=3) 의함수는다음과같이유도된다. cos cos (9) for 그림 2. 원주를따라두개로잘려진평판형뫼비우스스트립의측면도 Fig. 2. Perspective configuration of the planar Möbius Strip bisected along the circumferential directions cos cos for (10) Ⅱ. 본론 함수 M(t,s) 에서 cos(t) 항과 sin(t) 항의위상차가스트립의반지름의길이를결정한다. 스트립의반지름의길이는함수 M(t,s) 에서 cos(t) 항과 sin(t) 항의위상차가 0 에서 180 의범위에서 180 일때와 0 일때가가장크다. 최종적으로, inner space와 outer space가 180 의위상차가있는 Möbius Strip 을원주를따라잘랐을때, 가장원주의길이가긴스트립을만들수있음을쉽게예측할수있다. 또한기존의변형된 Möbius Strip은 Möbius 2.1. 본논문에제안된 Quasi Möbius Strip Möbius Strip의동일한물리적길이를유지하면서원주를따라자르는회수 (N) 을증가시키면, 소형화될수있다는것을기대할수있다. 이러한절차를이용하여, 원주를따라잘라진 Möbius Strip의전체원주의길이는일반적인 Möbius Strip의원주의길이의 2배다. 원주를따라잘려진 Quasi Möbius Strip을 RF회로설계시적용하면, 공진주파수는유지하면서전체원주길이의소형화가기 717
4 한국통신학회논문지 '13-09 Vol.38B No.09 대된다 Möbius Strip과논문에제안된 Quasi-Möbius strip의위상동형의증명 Möbius Strip과제안된 Quasi-Möbius Strip의위상 (topology) 이같다는것을증명하기위하여오일러의표수공식을적용하기로한다. 오일러의표수가같으면두도형의위상이같다는것이증명된다. 오일러의표수는다음과같이정의된다 [6]. Top view of the Quasi Möbius Strip v= 다면체의꼭지점의수, e= 모서리의수, f= 면의수 Fig. 3은본논문에서제안하는 Quasi Möbius Strip의정면도이다. 두개의링이교차되어연결되어있다. 또한, 두개의링이교차되는 inner space와 outer space의연결 bridge를기판의앞면과뒷면으로물리적으로분리한뒤, via hole로연결하여뫼비우스스트립의특성인 open space이면서 Möbius Strip과동위상인 Quasi Möbius Strip을구현하였다. Fig. 4은기판위의 Quasi Möbius Strip의후면도이다. 본논문에제안된 Quasi Möbius strip과 via hole구조를적용시키면저주파수에서의전자파간섭현상및동일공진주파수에서의 RF회로가소형화될수록심각하게발생할수있는선로결합효과 (coupling effect) 현상을완화시킬수있는장점이있다. Möbius strip의오일러표수는다음과같다. 5 논문 / Quasi Möbius Strip 과 Via-Hole 구조를응용한선로결합현상의완화및소형화설계 cos cos for (16) cos sin for (17) where s [-ω,ω], t [0,2(N+1)π], R=Radius of the Quasi Möbius Strip, N=Number of cuts of the Quasi Möbius Strip (20) N=3일때, Quasi-Möbius strip의함수는다음과같이유도된다. cos cos for (18) cos sin for (19) where s [-ω,ω], t [0,2(N+1)π], R=Radius of the Quasi Möbius Strip, N=Number of cuts of the Quasi Möbius Strip Quasi-Möbius strip의원주를따라자르는회수 (N) 을증가시키면, 전체원주의길이가 (N+1) 배만큼증가함을예측할수있다. 따라서동일공진주파수라는조건하에서 Quasi-Möbius strip의 N을증가시키면, 소형화가가능하다. 그러므로본논문에서제안한 N을증가시킨 Quasi Möbius Strip을 RF 회로설계시적용시키면동일공진주파수에서의소형화회로및시스템설계가가능하다 안테나설계에의응용전자파간섭효과 (Coupling Effect) 를최소화하기위하여 Fig.5와 Fig.6에서 inner space와 outer space의연결 bridge를기판의뒷면에배치하고 via-hole로앞면과연결하였다. 또한, 선로결합효과를완화하기위하여 inner space와 outer space의떨어진거리를최적화시켰다. 본논문에제안된 Quasi Möbius Strip을적용한안테나의공진주파수는 2.4GHz이다. 6 한국통신학회논문지 '13-09 Vol.38B No.09 Ⅲ. 시뮬레이션결과 Fig.7은 N=2일때의 2.4GHz의공진용안테나의리턴로스 (S 11) 을 simulation한결과이다. 2.4GHz대역에서정확하게공진하고있으며, 리턴로스 (S 11 ) 이약 19dB까지첨예하게떨어진다. 상이기존논문 [4,5] 에비하여완화되었다. 본논문에서제시된 Quasi Möbius strip은 RF회로의소형화설계및선로결합효과완화에적용될것으로기대된다. 향후연구과제로는 via hole의위치및크기에따른등가회로및매칭네트워크의연구가필요하다. Simulated Return Loss(N=2) 시뮬레이션결과에서제시하는것처럼, 공진주파수의인접주파수에서의심각한선로결합효과 (coupling effect) 현상이발생하지않았다. 또한, 기존의 Möbius Strip 안테나에비하여공진첨예도가 (Quality Factor) 가향상되었다. 본논문의시뮬레이션결과에의하면, 2.4GHz의공진주파수일때, 기존의링안테나와대비하여물리적원주의길이는 1/3배로소형화되었으며, 2.4GHz의공진주파수근처에서선로결합효과현상이거의발생하지않았다. Ⅳ. 결론 본논문에서는전자파간섭현상을최소화시킨 Quasi Möbius strip과 via hole구조를제시하고 Möbius strip과의위상동형을증명하였다. 본논문의시뮬레이션결과에의하면, 2.4GHz의공진주파수일때, 기존의링안테나와대비하여물리적원주의길이는 1/3배로소형화되었다. 또한, 기존의헤리컬안테나가한번의원주의회전이있을때마다공진주파수가발생했지만, 본논문에서제시한 Quasi Mobius Strip과 via hole을적용한안테나는 2.4GHz의공진주파수만을발생시킨다. 또한, 2.4GHz의공진주파수근처에서선로결합효과현 [1] Mariam Webster, Webster s New Collegiate Dictionary, G.&C.
