10 Nursing experience in patient with schizophrenia to enhance the ability of family coping skills Yin-Chi Chen 1, Yu-Chien Hsu 2, Chen-Ju Chen 2 Dachien Hospital 1 Lecturer, School of Nursing, Yuanpei University 2 This nursing care experience regards to a patient suffering from delusion and auditory hallucination. After establishing therapeutic relationship and applying nursing assessment with the patient, 3 major nursing problems were identified: altered thought processes, sensory/ perception alternation, ineffective family coping. Cognitive-behavior concepts were used to improve client s negative emotional problems, enhance the self-management ability, and reduce life disturbance effectively. After employing family nursing care concepts in the nursing care plan, we improved the family members coping skills and positive interaction. Positive attitude toward subject returning home and high quality of life was found in the family.
