ABSTRACT The Effect of The Intergenerational Program through Visit on Children's Personality Development Yoon-Jin Bae (Master, Chung-Ang University) Hyun-Ju Kim (Assistant Professor, Daelim University College) In this thesis, the following research questions and hypotheses were selected and set up to investigate how the intergenerational program through visit affects the personality development, and children's reactions were analyzed during the program. To verify the previous research questions and hypotheses, two groups of 25 five-year-old children were selected as experimental and control groups in A and B day-care centers in Giheung-gu, Yongin city, and the pretest, experimental treatment, posttest, and data collection were conducted. The results are stated in the following; First, the experimental group showed statistically profound and higher increase rate than the control group in children's personality evaluation scores, that is, "basic life-style, self-establishment, community spirit, physical development, and sociality" after the experimental treatment. Second, the intergenerational program through visit is considered to be useful for both children in experimental group and elders as a result of analyzing children's reactions during the program. In addition, the children felt worthy through the program and showed voluntary attitudes in the activity. Moreover, they felt a sense of responsibility for the visit activity.
