` 자유전공학부(College of Liberal Studies) 자유전공학부(College of Liberal Studies) 991.101* 주제탐구세미나 1 3-3-0 Selected Topics Seminar 1 본 과목은 여러 분과 학문을 아우르는 큰 주제를 설정하고 이 를 통합적으로 조망할 수 있는 종합적 시각을 형성하는 것을 목표 로 한다. 이를 위해 이 과목은 여러 명의 교수들이 함께 참여하여 강의와 토론을 진행한다. 이 과정에서 학생들은 세미나 주제에 다 양한 시각으로 접근하고 그 결과를 창의적으로 종합하는 훈련을 한다. This seminar offers lectures and discussions on selected topics by a team of faculty members to assist students in formulating comprehensive perspectives for an integrated analysis of the topics encompassing the fields of liberal arts and sciences. The purpose of this seminar is to make students familiar with the diverse approaches and methods of different disciplines. 991.201 주제탐구세미나 3 3-3-0 Selected Topics Seminar 3 이 세미나는 강의, 토론, 독해 및 과제작성을 영어 혹은 제2외 국어로 진행하는 과정으로서 다양한 학문분야와 관련된 주제를 선 정하여 그 주제의 중요한 텍스트들에 대해 읽고 토론한 결과를 과 제물로 작성함으로써 텍스트를 이해하는 능력과 이를 바탕으로 한 창의적 사고의 함양을 목표로 한다. 특별히 외국어 토론과 외국어 문서 작성을 통해 국제적 학문소통을 위한 기본 능력을 배양한다. This seminar includes readings, lectures, discussions in English or another foreign language on selected topics of different disciplines. 991.202A 전공설계 2 1-0-2 Individual Course Design 2 991.102 주제탐구세미나 2 3-3-0 Selected Topics Seminar 2 본 과목은 다양한 학문분야와 관련된 주제를 선정하여 그 주제 를 다루는 중요한 텍스트를 읽고 토론함으로써 텍스트를 이해하는 능력과 이를 바탕으로 주어진 주제를 사고하는 능력을 함양하는 것을 목표로 한다. 학생들은 자유로운 토론을 통해 스스로 문제를 인식하고 해결하는 능력을 배양하고, 매 과제에 대한 담당교수의 지도를 통해 글쓰기 능력을 동시에 향상시킬 수 있을 것이다. This seminar offers students an experience of reading and writing on selected major topics of different disciplines. Course goal is to develop students ability of creative thinking through group discussions of the reading materials, developing research questions, and formulating possible answers. The instructor will provide an intensive guidance for improving students writing skills by commenting on a series of students essays on assigned topics. 991.103* 전공설계 1 1-0-2 Individual Course Design 1 이 과목은 자유전공학부 신입생들에게 대학에서 전공을 한다는 것이 무엇인가, 어떻게 자신의 전공을 발견하거나 설계할 것인가 같은 문제의식 아래 대학의 역사, 학문의 종류와 방법 일반에 대 한 개관을 제공하는 것을 목표로 한다. 동양과 서양에서 대학의 역사적 형성과 발전, 대학의 역할과 기능의 변화, 분과 학문의 성 립과 변화 등에 대한 기본적 사실을 강의와 워크숍을 통해 교수하 고, 새로운 학문 분야의 등장과 미래, 융합 복합 통합 노력 등 을 소개하여 학생들이 장차 어떤 방향으로 전공을 결정하고 또 어 떤 진로를 취할지에 대해 도움을 주고자 한다. This course is designed to give students a chance to review the history of university as well as different disciplines and their approaches in order to help them find or develop his or her major and understand what it means to major in a field of study at university in the 21st century. Lectures and workshops will be organized to help the students understand the historic formation and development of university and higher education in the East and West, the changes in role and function of university, the past, present and future of major disciplines and their branches, and the efforts at fusion, composition, and integration of sciences so that they can make informed choices and designs regarding their fields of study and career paths. 학점구조는 학점수-주당 강의시간-주당 실습시간 을 표시함. 한 학기는 15주로 구성됨. (The first number means credits ; the second number means lecture hours per week; and the final number means laboratory hours per week. 15 week make one semester.) - 739 - 이 강의는 학생들이 자신들의 독자적인 전공을 설계할 수 있도 록 지도하는 데 목적을 둔다. 이 강의에서는 학생들이 기존의 학 문분야들을 통합적으로 결합하여 새로운 연구 분야를 개발하는 전 공설계 방법을 학습하게 될 것이다. 이 강의에서 학생들은 자신의 전공설계를 발표하고 이에 대한 교수의 논평을 하는 세미나 형식 으로 진행될 것이며, 학생들은 학기말에 자신의 전공에 대한 설계 를 제시해야 한다. This course aims at guiding students to design his/her own courses. With this course, students would be able to find out how a field of study can be derived from the integrative combination of existing study area. The course uses individual seminar format in which a student presents design of his/her own curriculum for selected field and instructor makes comments about it. 991.203 주제탐구세미나 4 3-3-0 Selected Topics Seminar 4 본 과목은 기본적으로 <주제탐구세미나 2>로 개설되는 강좌에 서 다루는 다양한 학문분야와 관련된 주제를 보다 깊이 탐구하는 동시에 학문의 방법론의 기본을 실천을 통해 연마하는 것을 목표 로 한다. 학생들은 담당교수의 지도하에 국내 외 현장학습이나 종합설계 등과 연계하거나 또는 독자적으로 소규모 연구 프로젝트 를 기획하고 수행함으로써 창의성과 연구능력을 발전시킬 기회를 갖게 된다. This seminar encourages students to explore in depth one of the major topics typically dealt with in <Selected Topics Seminar 2>, while learning by doing the essentials of research methodology. It aims to develop students creativity and research skills by offering a chance to plan and perform one s own research project under the guidance of the instructor, often, but not necessarily in connection with <Community Service-based Learning>, <Global Experiential Learning> or <Capstone Design>. 991.301A 자율연구 1 3-2-2 Independent Research 1 학생이 자율적으로 자신이 탐구하고 싶은 주제와 영역을 설정 하고 자기주도적 태도로 지도교수의 도움을 받아 창의적이고 심도 깊은 연구를 수행한 후 그 결과를 보고하는 형식의 과목이다. 주 제의 제한은 없으며, 자신이 선택한 전공 영역의 주제, 학제적인 주제 또는 분과학문의 경계를 넘는 포괄적인 주제 등을 탐구주제 로 선정하여, 간학문적 접근과 방법론, 실험과 참여관찰 등 다양한
` 자유전공학부(College of Liberal Studies) 자유전공학부(College of Liberal Studies) 탐구방법을 사용하며, 전학교적 지도교수의 밀착지도를 받음으로 써 창의적인 학자로서의 소양을 함양할 수 있다. 전공 2학점으로 등급평가를 기본으로 한다. 연구결과보고서를 발표함으로써 학문 적 커뮤니케이션의 체험의 기회를 제공한다. This course is designed to provide self-directed learning and creative/critical thinking ability of undergraduate students in School of Liberal Studies. Students may select research themes, research methods, and advisors in interdisciplinary fields or contemporary issues. Students would submit research proposals and conduct research of their own with the support of the professor(s). Students would receive academic credits (2, A F) based on the final reports of their research, and be recommended to present their research outcomes. 991.302 국내현장학습 2-0-4 Community Service-based Learning 이 과목의 목적은 지역사회의 자선단체, 시민조직, 공공기관 등 의 참여를 통한 현장체험학습을 제공하는 것이다. This course provides students with opportunities of experiential learning through participation in the activities at service-oriented, nongovernmental and public organizations. 991.303 해외현장학습 2-0-4 Global Experiential Learning 이 과목의 목적은 국제기관의 인턴십 훈련을 통해 국제적인 안 목을 배양하고 리더십 소양을 개발하게 하는 것이다. This course facilitates students activities that cultivate a global outlook and encourage leadership development through internships at international organizations. 991.304 자율연구 2 3-2-2 Independent Research 2 본 과목의 목적은 <자율연구 1>을 성공적으로 수강한 학생들 에게 자신이 탐구하고 싶은 주제와 방법을 자율적으로 선택하고 지도교수의 도움을 받아 한층 더 창의적이고 심도 깊은 연구를 수 행할 기회를 부여하려는 것이다. 학생들은 <자율연구 1>에서 수 행한 연구를 더욱 발전시킬 수도 있고 새로운 주제를 선택할 수도 있다. 이 과목을 통하여 자유전공학부가 중시하고 있는 자기주도 적 학습, 비판적 사고, 창의적 문제해결 능력을 더욱 신장시키고, 초보적인 수준에서나마 학문 연구 수행의 경험을 해보도록 하는 것을 목표로 한다. This course intends to give yet another chance to select research themes and methods, and conduct research of their own with the support of the professor(s) to those students who have successfully finished <Independent Research 1>. Either by further developing the projects from their <Independent Research 1>, or by initiating a new research project, students are expected to enhance their abilities in self-directed learning, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving. 991.305A 창의융합세미나 3-3-0 Creative Fusion Seminar 이 과목은 학부 고학년 학생들이 융합적인 주제로 학습과 토론 을 함으로써 창의적 성과를 산출하는 경험을 얻도록 하는 것을 목 표로 한다. 다양한 전공을 진행 중인 수강생들이 모여 자신의 학 습 경험을 토대로 다른 수강생들과 협력하여 창발적인(emergent) 연구를 기획하게 될 것이다. 수강생들은 조를 구성한 후 담당 교 수의 지도하에 융합적이고 창의적인 주제를 자율적으로 설정하고, 방법론에 대한 협의를 거쳐 연구 계획서를 공동으로 집필하게 된 다. 기말에 예비적 탐구 결과를 발표하며 상호 비판적 견해를 교 환하게 될 것이다. 이런 과정을 통해 개인의 지적 능력을 개발하 는 동시에 집단 창의성과 융합적 문제 해결 방식을 경험하는 것이 주요 목표이다. This course aims to give junior or senior an opportunity for experiencing a creative fusion research by interdisciplinary approaches. The students who are studying their own majors in various disciplines come together and find the emergent research topics that they begin with and discuss methods, and write an interdisciplinary research proposal together. For these activities, the students work as a group and the groups may present preliminary research results at the end of the term. From this course, the students will have some experiences of group creativity for solving multi-dimensional puzzles and interdisciplinary approaches to complex problems. 991.306A 창의융합프로젝트 3-3-0 Creative Fusion Project 본 과목의 목적은 <창의융합세미나>를 성공적으로 수강한 학생 들에게, 다시한번 공동으로 연구계획을 디자인하고 협동 연구를 수행하는 기회를 부여하는 동시에, 한층 진전된 수준의 탐구를 실 행함으로써 실제적인 공동 결과물들을 창출할 수 있도록 하려는 것이다. 학생들은 <창의융합세미나>에서 수행한 공동 연구를 더욱 발전시킬 수도 있으며, 다른 구성원들과 다른 창의적 주제를 발굴 하여 더 깊이 있는 융합적 연구 성과물을 낼 수도 있다. 이런 과 정을 통해 학생들은 집단 창의성과 융합적 문제 해결 능력의 실제 를 깊이 있게 경험하게 될 것이다. This course is designed to give yet another opportunity for making substantial results of interdisciplinary joint researches to those students who have successfully completed <Creative Fusion Seminar> which doesn t require substantial results. The students may develop the joint research further as a group that had been conducted in <Creative Fusion Seminar> during the previous semester, or excavate another research topic and work together for the result of it. From this course, the students will experience reality of group creativity and problem-solving ability by interdisciplinary approaches. 991.307 고전탐구세미나 1 3-3-0 Classics Seminar 1 본 과목은 다양한 분야를 전공하는 학부 고학년 학생들이 서양 고대와 근대의 인문학, 사회과학, 자연철학, 자연과학 분야 고전 텍스트를 읽고 이들 텍스트의 현대적 의미와 함의에 대해 함께 토 론하게 함으로써 고전에 대한 학생들의 이해를 증진시키고 더 나 아가 고전이 제기하는 문제에 대한 학생들의 창의적 사고 능력과 문제 해결 능력을 향상시키는 것을 목적으로 한다. 또한 다양한 분야를 전공하는 학생들이 고전을 읽고 함께 토론하고 비판하고 설득하는 과정에서 자연스럽게 자신의 전공 영역이 아닌 다른 분 야의 관점과 논리를 접해 볼 수 있도록 할 것이며 이를 통해 학 생들의 창의적 융합 능력을 향상시키고자 한다. 학생들은 매주 정 해진 고전을 읽고 스스로 자신의 전공 분야 또는 관심 분야와 관 련한 문제를 개발해보고 이에 대한 해결책을 모색하는 과정에서 창의적 사고와 문제해결 능력을 기를 수 있을 것이다. 이러한 경 - 740 -
` 자유전공학부(College of Liberal Studies) 자유전공학부(College of Liberal Studies) 험을 통해 세분화된 분과 학문의 경계를 넘어 폭넓은 시각에서 삶 과 사회 및 자연에 대해 사고하는 기회를 가질 것이다. This course is designed for the third- and fourth-year students who major in various disciplines, and purposes to improve the students capability of critical thinking and problem solving through the reading and discussion of the ancient and modern Western classics on humanities, social sciences, natural philosophy, and natural sciences. While reading and discussing the classics together with other students who have different academic backgrounds, the students may have a chance not only to improve their knowledge of the classics but also to encounter different perspectives and approaches from other disciplines which they are not familiar with. Moreover, while crossing over disciplinary boundaries in the discussion with other students, the students may have a chance to explore the fundament issues raised in the classics from various perspectives and to improve their capability of creative inter-disciplinary thinking. Finally, while reading and discussing the classics, the students may have a chance to develop their own questions and to solve these questions on their own way. 991.308 고전탐구세미나 2 3-3-0 Classics Seminar 2 본 과목은 <고전탐구세미나 1>과 연계된 과목으로서 다양한 분야를 전공하는 학부 고학년 학생들이 19세기와 20세기 인문학, 사회과학, 자연과학 분야 서양 고전 텍스트를 읽고 이들 텍스트의 현대적 의미와 함의에 대해 함께 토론하게 함으로써 고전에 대한 학생들의 이해를 증진시키고 더 나아가 고전이 제기하는 문제에 대한 학생들의 창의적 사고 능력과 문제 해결 능력을 향상시키는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이 과목에서는 현대 사회와 보다 직접적으로 관련된 고전 텍스트를 읽음으로써 우리의 삶과 현실에 대해 성찰 할 수 있는 계기를 가지게 될 것이며, 이런 내용에 대해 치열한 토론을 유도하고자 한다. 이 과정에서 다른 사람의 고전 해석과 주의 주장을 이해하고 설득의 노력을 기울이며 그런 바탕 위에서 비판과 종합을 하는 훈련을 하게 될 것이다. 전반적으로 고전을 통한 밀도 있는 훈련을 통해 창의적 독해, 탄탄한 논리 구사, 유 려한 발표, 그리고 동료들과의 협력을 통한 공동성과 창출의 능력 을 기르도록 할 것이다. This course, which is consecutive to <Classics Seminar 1>, is designed for the third- and fourth-year students who major in various disciplines, and purposes to improve the students capability of critical thinking and problem solving through the reading and discussion of the 19th and 20th century Western classics on humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Contrary to <Classics Seminar 1> which focuses on the ancient and modern Western classics, this course focuses on the 19th and 20th century Western classics which have more close relationship with contemporary society, and thereby purposes to provide the students with a chance to reflect their own life and reality. While reading and discussing the classics together with other students, the students may have a chance to understand other students perspectives, arguments, and interpretations, and can improve their capability of creative reading, logical/critical thinking, and presentation. Finally, while doing a team project with other students, the students may have a chance to develop social skills and communication skills. 991.401 종합 설계 3-2-2 Capstone Design 본 과목은 다양한 전공 영역을 갖는 학생들이 졸업 마지막 학 기에 그 동안 학습한 내용을 종합하여 결과물을 만들어냄으로써 대학에서의 학업을 정리하는 과정을 학습할 수 있는 기회를 제공 한다. 강의 시간에는 다양한 전공의 학생들에게 공통되는 종합적 인 문제 해결의 토대가 되는 내용을 다루며, 실습 시간에는 각 학 생이 선정한 주제의 문제를 소그룹 활동을 통하여 해결해 나가는 과정을 진행한다. 또한 자유전공학부 학생들의 기본적인 문제 해 결 능력 향상, 협동 학습 능력 향상, 그리고 각종 보고서 작성 및 발표 능력 향상을 도모한다. This course is designed to offer an opportunity to produce finishing results by combining the outcomes of the undergraduate study. Students should complete outputs of any forms such as paper, thesis, real or prototype products of one s own design. The instructions include the basic theories and techniques for problem solving and students are expected to excercise them during practice hour. Increasing cooperation and writing ability is also included in the outcomes of the course. - 741 -
