1 韓國電磁波學會論文誌第 18 卷第 4 號 2007 年 4 月論文 Design of the Broadband TEM Horn Antenna Using a Genetic Algorithm 나영선 추호성 이주광 * 강진섭 * Youngsun Na Hosung Choo Joogwang Lee* Jinseob Kang* 요약 본논문에서는유전자알고리즘을이용하여시간영역측정에사용할광대역 TEM 혼안테나를개발하였다. 안테나개발에고려된설계목표로는 2~10 GHz의주파수영역에서 -10 db 이하 (VSWR<2) 의입력단반사손실과, 대역폭내에서높은복사이득그리고낮은이득편차이다. 또한 TEM 혼안테나의전체크기를줄이며휴대가용이하도록하기위해안테나본체와급전부를연결할광대역의 balun을설계하였다. 제작된 TEM 혼안테나의주파수영역측정결과 2~10 GHz에서 -10 db 반사손실을만족하며, 기존의삼각플레이트형태의 TEM 혼안테나와비교하였을때그부피가 80 % 감소하였다. 안테나의 broadside 이득값은 2~10 GHz 대역에서 12 dbi 기준으로이득편차가 6 db 이하를만족한다. 안테나의시간영역측정결과 group delay의변화폭은 0.4 ns 이하를만족하며, 펄스측정시송신과수신신호의상승시간은각각 58.5 ps와 66.5 ps로대략 10 % 이내의변화를보였다. Abstract In this paper, we propose a broadband TEM horn antenna optimized using a genetic algorithm. The characteristics required for the TEM horn are the broad matching bandwidth from 2 GHz to 10 GHz and high gain in broadside with a small gain deviation within that bandwidth. In addition, a broadband balun is designed to improve the portability and to reduce the total size of the antenna. The measured return loss of the proposed TEM horn with the broadband balun is less than -10 db(vswr<2) from 2 GHz to 10 GHz. Compared to a conventional triangular type TEM horn, the proposed antenna shows about 80 % reduced volume and gives the broadside gain about 12 dbi with a gain deviation less than 6 db from 2 GHz to 10 GHz. The time domain measurement shows less than 0.4 ns group delay and the pulse measurement using the transmitting signal with the rising time of 58.5 ps shows the received pulse with the rising time of 66.5 ps, which is less than 10 % rising time variation. Key words : TEM Horn Antenna, Balun, Time-Domain Antenna, GenEtic Algorithm Ⅰ. 서론최근급속한무선통신기술의발달과다양한멀티미디어의보급으로인하여고속, 대량데이터전송의필요성이증대되고있는추세이다. 이에따라광대역통신방식이각광을받고있으며, Ultra-Wide- Band(UWB) 통신방식등이상용화단계에있다 [1]. 이러한 UWB 통신방식과같은광대역통신은펄스형태의신호를이용하며, 수신된신호의왜곡을줄이기위해비분산 (non-dispersive) 특성을갖는시간영역안테나가필요하다 [2]. 2 변화때문에시간영역측정안테나로적합하며, 최근 UWB 통신표준화동향에맞추어연구및개발의필요성이더욱증가하고있다 [3]. 시간영역성능측정에표준안테나로사용될 TEM 혼안테나는 UWB 전주파수대역인 3.1~10.6 GHz을포함하는정합대역폭을가져야하며, 임펄스신호의왜곡없이송수신이가능하여야한다. 기존에연구된 TEM 혼안테나로는테이퍼정합된삼각플레이트형태와지수함수형태, 임피던스매칭을위한저항성분을첨가한형태등이있다 [4],[5]. 그러나삼각플레이트형태나지수함수형태의경우부피가크고, 제작이어렵다는단점이있다. 또한 UWB 전주파수대역에서임펄스측정용도의 TEM 혼안테나에대한연구는아직미흡한단계이다. 따라서본논문에서는광대역특성을가지면서소형화된 2단구조의시간영역측정용 TEM 혼안테나설계, 제작을목표로한다. 안테나의설계목표로는 2~10 GHz의주파수영역에서 -10 db 이하의입력단반사손실과, E-평면과 H-평면에서의반전력빔폭이각각평균 20 이상이며, 시간영역에서비분산특성을가지도록동작주파수대역의 broadside 방향에서최대이득을기준으로 6 db 이하의낮은이득편차를갖는것을목표로한다. 안테나본체의설계변수들은 Pareto 유전자알고리즘을이용하여최적화하였으며, 접지면이필요없고휴대가용이한형태로 TEM 혼안테나를제작하기위하여안테나본체와급전부를연결할광대역의 balun을설계하였다. Ⅱ. Pareto 유전자알고리즘을사용한안테나본체및광대역 Balun 설계 시간영역성능측정에표준안테나로사용될 TEM 혼안테나는 UWB 전주파수대역인 3.1~10.6 GHz을포함하는넓은대역폭 (VSWR<2) 을확보해야한다. 이같은광대역특성을가지기위해서는혼안테나의특성임피던스가입력단의입력임피던스에서개구면의자유공간임피던스 (120π) 로점차변해가는정합구조를가져야한다. TEM 혼안테나는진행파를복사하는안테나 (traveling wave antenna) 이기때문에안테나구조를평형도파관으로간략화하여대략적인특성임피던스를예측할수있다. TEM 혼 (a) 평면도 (a) Top view (b) 측면도 (b) Side view 그림 1. TEM 혼안테나의기본구조 Fig. 1. The basic structure of the TEM horn antenna. 안테나의특성임피던스는식 (1) 과같이안테나의높이와너비에의하여나타낼수있고, 이특성임피던스의변화율을고려하여안테나의구조를설계하면원하는정합특성을얻을수있다 [6]. 식 (1) 의 y는안테나의길이이고, 그림 1과같이 y 좌표로표시된다. Z(y)= h(y) w(y) 120 π (Ω) (1) TEM 혼안테나의복사특성은측정이가능한충분한빔폭을확보하기위하여 E-평면과 H-평면에서의반전력빔폭이각각평균 20 이상되어야하며, 시간영역에서비분산특성을가지도록 broadside 방향에서높은이득을확보하며, 전주파수대역에서최대이득을기준으로이득편차가작고, 펄스의왜곡현상을줄이기위해서는 group delay의변화폭은 1 ns 이하가되어야한다. 본논문에서는안테나의크기를소형화하면서도 431

3 韓國電磁波學會論文誌第 18 卷第 4 號 2007 年 4 月 광대역에서입력단반사손실특성과복사특성을개선하기위해유전자알고리즘을이용하여 2단형태의 TEM 혼안테나의본체를최적화하였다. 유전자알고리즘은자연의유전법칙을이용한최적화기법으로우성의종이다음세대에도살아남고교배를통해서더좋은우성종을도출하는최적화알고리즘의하나이다 [7]. 안테나의크기는길이 50 cm, 너비 20 cm, 높이 20 cm보다작게설계하도록하였으며, 위와같이다수설계목표를만족시키면서효과적인최적화를수행하기위해 Pareto 유전자알고리즘을사용하였다 [8]. TEM 혼안테나의반사손실특성을최적화하기위해입력임피던스는 100 Ω을사용하였고, 안테나의구체적인설계변수들은그림 1과같이각각 a 1, a 2, b 1, b 2, w 1, w 2, h 1, h 2, L 1, L 2 로나타내었다. TEM 혼안테나의급전부는마이크로스트립라인임피던스근사식인식 (2) 를적용한 h 0=2 mm, w 0=3.54 mm를사용하였다 [9]. Wire 형태로간략화한 NEC 시뮬레이션복사특성결과는정확한안테나형태의 EM 계산이가능한 Microwave Studio를이용하여검증하였다. 그림 2(a) 는 TEM 혼안테나를 NEC 툴에적용하기위해 wire 형태로단순화시킨모델이며, 그림 2(b) 는 NEC 툴에의한결과를 Microwave Studio를이용하여시뮬레이션한패턴결과와비교한것으로간략화시킨모델시뮬레이션결과와 (a) NEC 근사화모델 (a) The approximate wire model for NEC w 2 (y) =a 2 (y-l 1 )+w 1, h 2 (y) = b 2 (y-l 1 ) + h 1 (4) 식 (3) 과식 (4) 에서구한높이와너비를식 (1) 에적용하여 y에따른안테나의특성임피던스 (Z(y)) 를구할수있으며, 이를식 (5) 에대입하면안테나의입력단반사손실을계산할수있다 [10]. 4 전체구조를시뮬레이션한결과가유사한것을보여준다. 그림 2(b) 에서 angle은 H-평면으로 φ의 angle 을나타낸다. 복사특성을최적화하기위해두번째비용평가함수인식 (7) 을만들어유전자알고리즘에적용하였으며, Cost 2는관찰주파수대역에서 E-평면과 H-평면각각의복사이득은높고반전력빔폭은넓게하도록한다. N i=1 M Gain ( θ j,f i ) j=1 Cost 2 = 1- (f N -f 1 ) (θ M -θ 1 ) G max + N i=1 M Gain (φ j,f i ) j=1 (f N -f 1 ) (φ M -φ 1 ) G max (7) 식 (7) 에서분모부분의 N은전체관찰주파수의수이며, M은전체관찰하는 θ와 φ 방향의수이다. 다시말하여 M은 φ=90 일경우 E-plane으로스캔하는 θ의수이며, 또한 θ=90 일경우 H-plane으로스캔하는 φ 수이다 (θ와 φ의수는같다.). 분자는 θ방향과 φ 방향에대한이득값의합으로최대이득값 G max 는 50 dbi로설정하였고, 각주파수별안테나 broadside(x-y plane, φ =90 ) 방향에서이득을비교하여복사패턴에 null이발생하는설계값은최적화과정에서제외하였다. 150번이상의유전자알고리즘의반복과정을통해서최적화된결과를얻을수있었고설계변수는표 1과같다. 그림 3은최적화된 TEM 혼안테나본체를 Microwave Studio를이용하여시뮬레이션한결과로 1~10 GHz에서입력단반사손실이 -10 db 이하를만족하며, 특히 2~10 GHz 대역에서는 -20 db 이하의낮은반사손실을갖는것을알수있다. The simulated return loss of the TEM horn antenna. 바꿔줄수있는광대역밸런을유전자알고리즘을이용하여설계하였다. TEM 혼안테나용광대역밸런은마이크로스트립형태를이용하였으며, 기판은유전율 2.2, 두께 1.6 mm인 RT/Duroid 5880을사용하였고, 기판의위아랫면은구리선로를이용하였다 [11]. 밸런의설계변수는 L 1, L 2, w 1, w 2, w 3 와급전부의위치 P이며, 입력단은동축케이블의임피던스인 50 Ω으로, 끝단의임피던스는 TEM 혼안테나의입력임피던스인 100 Ω으로하였고, 밸런의기본모델은그림 4와같다. 밸런의최적화를위하여유전자알고리즘을사용하였으며, 평면형태의 RF 회로해석시연산속도와정확성이매우좋은 IE3D 툴을사용하여성능을예측하였다. 밸런의입력단반사손실을식 (8) 에대입하여비용평가함수로정의하였으며, 식 (8) 에서 Cost 1은전체주파수영역에서입력단반사손실이작은값을갖도록최적화한다. Cost 1 = f stop Γ(f )df f start f start - f stop (8) 유전자알고리즘을사용하여최적화된밸런의설계변수값을표 2에나타내었다. 그림 5는 IE3D 툴을사용하여시뮬레이션한밸런의입력단반사손실과, 밸런의입력에서안테나본체부분에결합되는밸런의출력부분과의 S 21 결과그래프이다. 반사손실값은 1~10 GHz 대역에서 -10 db 이하를만족하는것을알수있으며, S 21 결과그래프는밸런과안테나 433

Design parameters for the broadband balun. 변수값 (mm) 변수값 (mm) w w 2 3 w P 9 L L 위와같은과정을거쳐설계된 TEM 혼안테나는그림 6에나타내었으며, 회로망분석기를이용하여제작된안테나의주파수특성을측정하였다. 전체 TEM 혼안테나의반사손실은 Microwave Studio를사용하여시물레이션한안테나의본체반사손실결과와 IE3D를이용하여시물레이션한밸런의반사손실결과를그림 7과같은직렬 2 포트네트워크로구성하여계산하였다. IE3D를사용하여구한밸런의 S 파라미터값을식 (9) 에대입하여 A, B, C, D 매트릭스를구한후식 (10) 을이용하여그림 7과같은 2 port circuit 회로에서의 Z 1, Z 2, Z 3 를구한다. 이때식 (9) 의 Z 0 는밸런의입력임피던스인 50 Ω으로계산하며, 그림 7에서 Z 4 는 CST 시뮬레이션을이용하여구한 TEM 혼안테나본체의특성임피던스값이다. 위과정에서구한 Z 1, Z 2, Z 3, Z 4 로전체안테나의특성임피던스값인 Z L 을구할수있으며, Z L 로부터밸런이연결된 TEM 혼안테나의전체입력단반사손실을계산할수있다 [10]. Broadside gain of the TEM horn antenna(x-y plane, φ=90 ). 정면방향 (x-y plane, φ=90 ) 에서 co-pole(z 방향편파 ) 로측정된이득과시뮬레이션결과를비교한그래프이다. 시뮬레이션은점선으로측정결과는실선으로표시하였으며, 시뮬레이션과측정결과는최대 2 db 오차로매우비슷함을알수있다. 또한 TEM 혼안테나의 broadside(x-y plane, φ = 90 ) 방향에서 null이없으며, 최대이득 12 dbi 기준으로전주파수대역에서이득편차가 6 db 이하임을보여준다. 그림 10은전체 TEM 혼안테나의복사패턴시뮬레이션과측정결과이며, 3.5 GHz, 6.5 GHz, 9.5 GHz 의주파수를 φ=90 일경우 E-평면 (y-z plane) 으로, θ =90 일때 H-평면 (x-y plane) 으로각각스캔한결과이다. TEM 혼안테나의복사패턴시뮬레이션의경우, E-평면의반전력빔폭은평균 30, H-평면의반전력빔폭은평균 37 이며, 측정결과에서 E-평면의반전력빔폭은평균 24 이며, H-평면의반전력빔폭은평균 32 로각각반전력빔폭평균이 20 이상의빔폭을가지고있는것을확인할수있다. 시간영역안테나는주파수특성뿐아니라시간영역에서신호의왜곡이최소화되어야하며, 왜곡의정도는 group delay로확인할수있다. Far-field에서위상이얼마나선형인지를알수있는것이 group delay이며, group delay의변화폭이 1 ns를초과하면펄스왜곡이초래된다. Group delay는식 (11) 로정의되며, φ는 far-field 위상, f는주파수이다. 그림 11(a) 는 TEM 혼안테나를 1 m의거리를두고수신된안 435

TEM 혼안테나의경우, 송신과수신의 transfer function이서로다르게나타나며, 송신할경우는신호를미분형태로보내며, 수신할경우는변화없이받게된다 [3]. 펄스측정시송신과수신신호의상승시간은각각 58.5 ps와 66.5 ps로대략 10 % 이내의변화를보였다. 시간영역측정결과와 group delay 결과로부터제안된 TEM 혼안테나는펄스의왜곡을최소화하며신호를송수신하는것을확인하였다. The phase and group delay of the TEM horn antenna. 테나에서의 phase의시뮬레이션과측정결과이며, 그림 11(b) 는 phase로부터계산된 group delay 결과이다. 측정결과 1~10 GHz 대역에서의 group delay의변화폭이 0.4 ns 이하로 1 ns를초과하지않으며, 시뮬레이션결과와비슷하게나오는것을확인할수있다. τ g =- φ 2π f (11) 그림 12는제안된 TEM 혼안테나를사용하여송수신한신호의시간영역측정결과이다. 펄스발생기로부터나온신호를송신용으로사용된 TEM 혼 Ⅳ. 결론본논문에서는테이퍼정합공식과 Pareto 유전자알고리즘을이용하여최적화된 2단형태의 TEM 혼안테나를개발하였다. 또한 TEM 혼안테나에결합할수있는마이크로스트립형태의광대역밸런을유전자알고리즘과 IE3D 툴을이용하여설계하였다. 제안된안테나를주파수영역에서측정한결과로부터 2~10 GHz 주파수대역에서입력단반사손실은 -10 db 이하이며, broadside에서이득은전주파수대역에서 null이없고이득편차는최대이득 12 dbi 기준으로 6 db 이하를만족함을확인하였다.
