2 초대의글 인사말 제 1회한류국제학술대회 (The 1st World Congress for Hallyu) 를개최합니다. 세계 26개국에서한류를연구하는학자들과현장전문가들이모여 Hallyu and Global Culture를주제로이틀동안 100여편의논문을발표하고토론하는자리입니다. 오늘날한류는세계적인문화아이콘으로국제무대에당당히자리를잡아가고있습니다. 한류를보는시각은다양하고, 한류에포함되는소재도풍부하며, 한류를즐기는방식도다채롭습니다. 이제는한류를학문적으로정리하고, 산업으로서의가능성을제시할뿐만아니라, 한류를통해세계인이함께공존하는길을모색할필요가있습니다. 이번대회는세계의새로운문화허브로등장하는한류를학문적으로정리하고, 각지역의관심을종합하는자리입니다. 또한세계의다양한한류관련종사자들이모여서로의이해를도모하는자리입니다. 그동안의한류연구를점검하며, 향후종합적이고다학제적이며융복합적인방향을모색하고자합니다. 한류에대한학술적시각과현실적정책의활발한교류가이루어질것으로기대합니다. 세계한류학회는지난 1월 28일창립되었고, 현재전세계적으로 18개의해외지부를두고있습니다. 세계인과함께미래로나아가는한류의장을준비하였습니다. 이번대회를통해한류를더풍요롭게이해하고즐길수있기를바랍니다. 여러분의참여와격려로큰결실을맺으리라확신합니다. 많은성원을부탁드립니다. 제 1 회한류국제학술대회 The 1st World Congress for Hallyu 감사합니다. 세계한류학회회장박길성

3 제 1 회한류국제학술대회 The 1st World Congress for Hallyu Welcome The World Association for Hallyu Studies (WAHS) is holding the 1st World Congress for Hallyu. This congress invites a variety of scholars and practitioners from 26 countries to announce and discuss more than 100 papers on the theme of 'Hallyu and Global Culture.' The Hallyu has been catapulted into the world arena as a global cultural icon. There now exists a wide variety of perspectives, approaches, and ways of enjoying the Hallyu across the globe. The time is mature enough to investigate the nature of the Hallyu as a global phenomenon, to further explore its industrial probability and to draw the world into one step closer through its practices. On the basis of these considerations, this congress aims to survey the latest theoretical and phenomenal understanding of Hallyu and to integrate matters of interests among a variety of related bodies from around the globe. Our scholarly collaboration for the studies of the Hallyu needs to be multidisciplinary as well as transversal. And our scholarly endeavors should seek not merely for unfolding sociopolitical potential in the Hallyu, but also for creating a value-formative as well as policy-oriented forum. The WAHS was founded on January 28, 2013 and now working actively with 18 overseas branches. Under the auspices of WAHS, the congress aims to provide an opportunity for a better understanding of Hallyu across the globe. 6 세계한류학회 WAHS 세계한류학회는세계적인문화아이콘으로등장한한류와지구적차원에서전개되고있는한류연구의가교를마련하고자다방면의연구자들과현장전문가들이함께만든국제학회이다. 세계한류학회는 2013 년 1월창립되었고 2013 년 9월현재, 총 18개해외지부 (Argentina, Australia, Austria, Canada, Germany, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Sweden, Taiwan, UK, East USA, West USA, Southwest USA) 를구성하여활발한활동중에있다. 세계한류학회분과는총 9개로인문사회, 한국어교육과문화, 의료, 한류정책과경영, 스포츠, 엔터테인먼트, 관광, 패션 뷰티, 그리고음식문화이다. 이와같은조직체를구성함으로써세계한류학회는한류에관한학술적연구를진행하고, 산학 학제간협동을통한한류발전에기여하며, 한류를통해세계사회의소통과발전에이바지하고자한다. The World Association for Hallyu Studies (WAHS) is an international association for scholars and practitioners, which aims to be the center of research that bridges Hallyu and Hallyu Studies on a global scale. Since its establishment on January 2013, the WAHS has been striving to bring together scholars working in different disciplines and genres of Hallyu Studies to open up new avenues of discussion and debate. As a result, the WAHS is now active all over the globe with 18 overseas branches (Argentina, Australia, Austria, Canada, Germany, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Philippines, Sweden, Taiwan, UK, East USA, West USA, Southwest USA). 제 1 회한류국제학술대회 The 1st World Congress for Hallyu The WAHS currently consists of 9 academic divisions: Humanities and Social Sciences, Korean Language Education & Culture, Medical Science, Hallyu Policy & Management, Sports Science, Entertainment Business, Tourism, Fashion Beauty Science, and Food. On the basis of these divisions, the WAHS intends to enhance the Hallyu studies in academia, to encourage continual interplay between scholars and practitioners, and to draw the world into one step closer through Hallyu.
